I was on Lupron Depot for a 2 year period, 10 years ago. Now, I am 49 years old, and have the spine of a 70-80 year old woman. I am missing two lumbar discs completely, and a third is almost gone. I will be lucky to be able to walk in the future. Degenerative Disc Disease, completely attributed to use of Lupron Depot. This isn't the life I thought I would have.

I was put on Lupron at age 16 to treat endometriosis. I was on the shot for 4 years. In that time I suffered from depression, insomnia, hot flashes, severe pain, lost a child, and my hormones and body have never been the same.

I find it ridiculous that in order to try and treat one condition by using Lupron, I now have multiple other problems I believe are a direct result of taking this drug. When a doctor says, "I hate to do this to you....but you need to take Lupron." That tells me even the doctors know that it is not good. I have just to name a few: memory loss depression joint pain migraines PLEASE prevent this from happening to anyone else.

I dropped out of college after experiencing severe depressive side effects from Lupron. 6 years later I finally have my life back together and want to fight to make sure that this does not happen to anyone else.

It all started with a small ovarian cysts and endometriosis. I had a bladder condition that was under controle with 2 pills a day. Then I took 3 lupron shots. 3 months of the shot was all I could do. I also had adenomyosis. It caused my bladder condition to worsen and is now not controled at all which is not explained. I also ended with Pelvic Congestion ,(varicose veins in the pelvis) that was unexplained because it normaly affects women who have kids and I dont have any. I had 3 Laparoscopic surgeries to try to fix or repair the veins with no help. Countless meds, and I even had to go on leave from work for almost a year because I could not be on my feet due to the blood in the veins. The only reasion I can think of for me to have this condition is the shot. I didnt have it before but I did after. I ended up having to have a full hysterectomy at the age of 27. I am now 29 and have been told I have fibromyalgia and have to go to a sleep study dr next week. I hasnt ended since the first shot I took 4 years ago. Now I am having really bad migrains and numbness and stuff and trying to find out what is causing that. Who knows right now. PLEASEEEEEEEEEEEEE studdy this some more. I AM 29 people. I am not suppose to have to feel like this. I do not have a life without pain. Everyday I take 10 rx.and some of them I take several times a day and I still have trouble. This is not right. I was healty till the shot.

I have diagnosed infertility and I am making the decision whether or not to do IVF. I am choosing NOT to do it because of what I have discovered when I researched Lupron. It is part of every protocol I have been offered, but I found out that it's not approved by the FDA for use in infertility, that the FDA classifiies it as a "Category X" hazardous substance not to be taken by pregnant women as is is a reproductive and developmental toxicant that will cause fetal abnormalities. Technically, you stop taking it 4-6 days before embryo transfer, but it is still in your body at that point, so your eggs and your embryos must have some exposure. No one has been able to give me a good answer as to how this is safe. I was also disturbed by the information that one of the original major researchers falsified 80% of the material in the clinical studies published, and that there are class action lawsuits against the manufacturer by thousands people who've had neurological and bone problems, among others, after using Lupron. I wasn't told any of this by my doctor, it is nowhere in the informed consents or educational process, and it should be. The studies to prove safety need to be done. The idea of giving up is so painful, but I don't know if it's responsible to myself or my future child to use Lupron, and that after all the time it's been on the market, that no studies have been required. I can't believe that this information is not part of the informed consent process. The manufacturer at one point started clinical trials for safety and efficacy in IVF then abruptly stopped them without explanation. If the manufacturer will not voluntarily address the safety of this drug, the government must step in.

I took only one 3.75mg shot of Lupron in preparation for fibroid surgery. Six months later my stomach is still bloated from the drug (not the fibroid, which was tiny). This is further causing me to develop depression, anorexia, and PTSD. This drug is not safe to take even once!!!

Humans should not be used as lab rats! Lupron did not save my reproductive organs and it damaged my joints. 36 and suffering from osteoarthritis. Take 1/2 of the money spent on advertising and do what you can to ease the pain of people whose bodies are irreparably damaged.

My father is currently dying in a nursing home from side effects directly related to Lupron. He was led to believe that side effects were minimal and only affect a small percentage of the population. Not so. My father was given Lupron as a follow up treatment for prostate cancer, after Brachytherapy. He began to have a severe skin allergy reaction. The doctors told him it was contact dermatitis. Then they gave him massive doses of prednisone to combat the skin condition. The rash subsided. 4 months later, after a second 4 month Lupron depot injection, he got the rash back. This time his GP told him it was a reaction to Lupron. For 4 months he was in agony. This wasn't a small rash - it was scaling, raised, painful, itchy and covered 60% of his body. He began to have shortness of breath and then his legs swelled massively. He could not walk. He has been tested for everything from congestive heart failure and back again. His PSA levels are low, but the rest of his body is failing. He is now diagnosed with: ARDS (acute respiratory distress syndrome); his lungs are fibrotic; he has pulmonary blood clots; he has lost the function in his legs; his blood does not stay oxygenated without CPAP blasting 100% oxygen into his lungs; his pancreas is failing and he is in sheer misery. He will have a tracheostomy shortly-today or tomorrow, so I will not be able to speak to him again. I'll never hear the sound of his voice, my beloved dad, again. And I am told he has a month or less to live. My mom died 2 months ago, and now my dad. His NEW GP says that Lupron can be traced as a direct contributing factor to all his bodily systems that are failing. The Lupron caused the allergic reaction that needed multiple treatments. The multiple treatments caused other bodily system failures which have now progressed to a life threatening status. Aggressive therapy for prostate cancer is highly debated among medical experts. My father was 76 years old at the time of diagnosis. What did he need aggressive radiation, Brachytherapy and Lupron FOR? Not for this, that's for sure. This is horrific. My dad is a Korean War Veteran, and worked in CA as a Legal Document Assistant helping the poor and unfortunate for the last 10 years of his life. Before that he was an insurance VP. He has been a champion for the underdog all of his life. He did not deserve a death like this. Lupron is devasting. Lupron is a legal poison. People are being murdered with this disgusting drug. It is very unfair. The public is being duped. An investigation is certainly in order, and long overdue. I remember Thalidomide and babies born without limbs and other horrors -and they're bringing that NIGHTMARE back onto the market. When will the FDA really start protecting US, the tax paying public, from these pharmaceutical Dr Frankensteins? That's what I would like to know. I have been abandoned by my own government; and so has my father, who fought with his life to protect this government while he was in the Na
