Child support should be based off the child's needs for their age, not the income of the father.The mother of the kids go to las vegas to play every mounth . I am nearly making ends meet. I do believe I need to pay child support, but the amount I pay is too much. Child support should be based off the child's needs for their age, not the income of the father. The mother is going to las vegas every mounth. She have money to play because the government help to got easy money from me . I feel the pain of all the father's on here I am paying for my two daughters that I love more then life but it's not fair that I work 50 to 70 hours a week just to have a little left over while my ex wife gets to keep her whole check and drives a brand new car while I drive a truck that is 30 years old and pushing 300,000 miles also I just got a letter from attorney general that I now have to have my daughter's on medical so just child support and this medical I will be paying 1800 a month just for that it's ridiculous laws need to change here in texasREPORT COMMENTS

The amounts you are ordered to pay to your ex by law is more than anyone could afford to spend together with two incomes on their kids. The law should also consider the new husbands income as well. They make as more than I do. I bet my life they could not afford to pay me that much either if the shpe was on the other foot. She disobeyed the parenting plan by not letting me have my time the court stated I should have. Then she takes me to court and tells them I did not follow it. Judge was a friend of her grandmother so she got everything she wanted. How the hell is a father supposed to stay out of jail when the state knows that you can't afford to pay that much. The kids once again are the ones to suffer. I am partially disabled and went back to work at the job that caused my condition so I could give my kids a better life. Now the state wants to give it to my ex. Why should I have to cripple myself for her. How am I supposed to buy things for my kids while they are with me. I don't have any left over. One major car repair or accident and then what? State says dead beat dad, I say dead beat legal system. I still owe thousands to my attorney. I will be dead and buried before I pay this off. Mothers should be required to spend the same amount as we have to pay and show proof to child support enforcement. That means my children will have $1,400 a month spent on them. I have had jobs in my life where I made less than that. Someone needs to stop this abuse and now.REPORT COMMENTS

It's ridiculous! I have my 2 kids and Idaho still makes me pay child support! It's a financial stress considering my ex wife the one who receives the child support can do whatever she wants with it even though I have the kids and have had them for almost a year now! Laws need to be adjusted so that when one parent gives up the kids for more than 1 consecutive month child support should stop!!!!REPORT COMMENTS

My husband has one child from a previous "relationship". He is having to pay $1,000 every month for the child. He works 40 hours, sometimes a little more a week. By the time he gets his check, we are lucky to have $300 to pay bills. We struggle getting groceries and paying for our vehicles. He has not got to see his child for over a year because the mother won't let him. We are fighting for joint custody so that we can see him and so child support go down, so I don't work because I'll be taking care of him while his father works. At this rate, if the father moves onto another relationship and gets married, he and his new wife can't have anything. They can't make future plans. We have to put everything on hold because he is paying so much for his child. It's not fair because he didn't choose to marry her, he is being punished for having him. The laws are so unfair.REPORT COMMENTS

My husband has three children from his last marriage and he pays 1100 a month. Now the kids live in another state so we hardly see them. The mother never let's us have them maybe a few weeks out of the summer every 4 or 5 yrs. now we get calls from the kids all the time asking us to send clothes or toys or school supplies because their mother is broke... $1100 a month my husband pays in child support and his kids don't have what the need!?! Something needs to be done!!! I 100% stand behind this petition!!!REPORT COMMENTS
