THE CHILD SUPPORT DOES NOT HOLD ANY ACCOUNTABILITY TO THE MOTHERS THEY SPEND IT ON ANYTHING OTHER THAN THE CHILDREN THAT REALLY NEED IT AND THE COURT DO NOT CARE . THERE NEEDS TO BE EQUality and accountability on the parents A loving and Caring Father just has to watch the money go out the window and no benefit to the children this is a crime and should be held accountable -

I feel the entire system is flawed. My ex wife is now the mother of 3, all from different fathers. She relies on child support as income and not in the interest of the children. When we were married she would spend the money freely and none went to the kids. Now that we are divorced she feels entitled to my income yet does not act as a co-parent. Fathers that pay child support should receive assistance in visitation matters. Many mothers do not let the fathers see their children yet are expected to pay child support. Mothers who withhold children should have the child support withheld.REPORT COMMENTS

I got fired from my job last year due to depression and I was not able to function of my job I miss my wife I miss my daughter I did not get married and have a child to sit here and pay child support and being cheated out of time my daughter day after day this child support laws wrong and should be done away with because unless that's done I will be committing suicide because I don't have my family and this life worth living anymore.REPORT COMMENTS

I can completely agree that child support laws are unfair, especially to father's. I am order to pay a certain amount each month and I do not even get to see the child, not because of me but because of the lack of maturity on the mothers part! If I miss one payment they will suspend my licence, order body attachments and a whole other shlu of incriminating actions will be taken. She does not let me see the child but the only way for her to get any repercussions from court is for me to spend 2,500$ to 5,000$ for an attorney. She is drug addict who has violated multiple court orders and nothing has happenedto her yet but if I miss one payment I will be imprisoned. It's bogus!!!! I hope any dead beat mother who receives child support and uses their children as a bargaining chip has a very long day in hell!!!! I hate the child support law with a pasdion.. It has become so bad I have contemplated suicide multiple time's throughout the years because of the hardship it brings to my personal and financial life. But the courts don't care. All they see is dollars (if its a substantial amount) and giving the hard time the economy is in nobody can afford the ridiculous amount of support set fourth by all courts. Because of child support I now have a criminal record ( in my state it is a felony to miss 1 payment) which cost me my college loans( I cannot attend college anymore) my jobs, my relationships and a world of other things. Sometimes I think it would be better to die than be on child support. And just so you know , I work everyday, very hard and would love nothing more than to be a part of my daughters life, but the courts do not care and the mother of my child knows that, leaving me defenseless against the government.REPORT COMMENTS

Im disable with very limited income of and yet i am paying more than i am suppose to pay. I had provided for my children and all that time she was plotting on me and now i have to pay 30k in arrears!! When i was deemed considered disabled before childsupport was even in affect. Now i have been waiting in family for almost two years and still there is no progress to establish my rights for my children and meanwhile she gets to abuse them and department of children and families still grants her the children even when they told them the truth!! The system in florida is so corrupt its a shame. How can i afford an attorney when they are taking away all my money?? But at court the judge doesnt consider my side while the state says whatever it wants?? Please congress this has to stop some people are frauding this system and u all need to fix it.REPORT COMMENTS

The child support laws in this country are terrible. I took out child support on myself when I was thinking of joining the navy. I didn't, but didn't mind as I didn't want to get hit with back child support in her teens and end up owing thousands in back child support. Anywho, I took her to court for visitation and our parenting plan dictates that I pay 653 a month, plus insurance, plus half medical. Her part? 305. Less than half of what I've got to pay. She gets to claim her on her taxes. Yet I pay more. He'll just drop the "if the dependent lives with you" nonsense from the tax law. It's absolute nonsense that she gets that deduction when I pay more than her. Also, she just got married. Living in a house her husband pays for. I'm single and get destroyed in taxes. Please change these laws to make it to where the amount is equal to what the mother can provide. Also take inton consideration of the child's age. I put 653 put, she's supposed to put out 305. Who the hell spends 958 dollars a month on one six year old?REPORT COMMENTS

My boyfriend whom I'm having a child with in May has just been ordered to pay $800 dollars in child support a month. We are completely screwed. He's tried to pay for his child's needs and see her over and over again but the mother has been keeping her from him because he's moved on. Don't know what we'll do now. The courts do not care about the amount of visitation that a father has with their child. Women are always favored and given whatever they want. My ex-wife quit her job strictly because she is lazy. She is capable of working, but chooses not to because it is easier for her to collect money from the state and me. The courts.... do not care. Father's who are more successful should be given primary placement. The system is corrupt. I guarantee you ask any father who has primary placement of their child if they want support from the mother the answer would be no. Why do mothers feel and are granted entitlement to a father's income. Makes no sense. The child support laws in this country are ridiculous. The custodial parent should be legally held bound to PROVE where the child support money is going. Non-custodial parents are usually living in one bedroom apartments or cheap housing because they can't afford anything else. I live in a one bedroom apartment and my ex lives in a 4 bedroom house with a 2 car garage, etc...We non-custodial parents are barely making ends meet due to an unfair system. The case didn't even take in account the other payments I have, just the amount that I make and just assume I don't have other bills to pay, that if not paid, will affect my working situation. The mother didn't even want to pursue child support the state forced it upon her. I just found out I have a warrent due to non payment. I'm so far behind due to me not making as much as I use to but they still charge me like I do. And the judges seem to immediately side with the women no matter what. I go down town to get a modification to support and they make it impossible. I gotta pay filing fees and fees to serve papers. My husband and i pay $1,000 a month for a child we never get to see. PA law does not hold the mother in contempt when she breaks the court order. We were told we have to just keep paying our lawyer over and over again and take her to court over and over again and in maybe 10 years things will change. It is ridiculous. We suffer and can barely put food on the table for the child we have together while we watch his ex and her boyfriend live off our hard earned money and go on multiple vacations a year..and again we never get to see her when we have a court order.REPORT COMMENTS

If a father desires more visitation with his children he should be allowed to without having to pay excessive attorney and court fees. The default visitation should be divided between the parents. If a parent is stating child care cost then they should be required to prove these costs. If a parent is getting benefits from the state these should be included in the child support calculation. Currently in Oregon you can gain assistance in food stamps, housing assistance, state medical, child care assistance etc. none of these are considered in the child support calculations.
