I have two daughters 16 and 21 been paying 500 monthly In 2007 was informed I was behind 900 even though wages were garnished they told me that some months only had 3 pay periods and I owed for that month lost job 2009 work was hard to come by and fell on difficult times child support continues to aaccumulate had a few jobs but not good jobs living in small rooms with nothing but a sink community bathrooms living alongside bums and lowlifes in bad parts of town for cheap rent 22000 behind my 21 year old been working for 3 years living with boyfriend still paying on her I am 43 l feel frustrated that when they get you into the system your screwed unless you spend huge amounts of money for lawyers I have heard of men killing themselves rather than pay I'll tell you in the beginning I thought the same way at times looking at a future treading water with an anvil chained to my ankle now I'm paying 630 now because I'm behind I have been rolling with their punches but sometimes I feel I'm about to get knocked out of the ring hopefully something can be done about these one sided laws they are extremely unfair when a human being works a 40 hour work week at 10.00 an hour and has to live like a ****ing bum! There is NOTHING good about how the Child Support system is set up!!! It may work for some but I imagine that the numbers are slim to none! We do need to do something about it. Same as everything else, if we don't than nothing will change. I make $20 an hour and pay for two kids, one that lives with me. I got paid today and they made some new adjustments on they're own. I'm battling between New Jersey and Pennsylvania. These judges in both states a bunch of crooked disgusting people. I have never been jailed a day in my life Until Child Support was inforced. My ex-wife is a total scumbag loser and a typical woman who takes advantage of the system. I fought child support five times and had been denied five times with the appropriate documentation. I have just come to learn to just deal with it. Child-support is not for the welfare of the child it's just a money making scam. That's what parents do not teach their growing up boys: Each boy during his upbringing shall be taught that he will be subject to abuse by the legal system. The child support system is an unbelievably sexist and one-sided arrangement. The party receiving child support should be held accountable for every cent spent out of it with documentation and receipts. The use of a "formula" is an asinine concept created by a lazy bean-counter and anyone with a single neuron firing in their brain should be able to see the need for a 'by case' determination. We have a court ordered true 50/50 custody. I get her 1 week and her mom gets her the next. And that's the agreed-to rotation. Divorce decree states no child support awarded. During the divorce, out of the kindness of my heart, I willingly paid her $20,000 so that she could get an education to better care for our daughter without my help in case something ever happened to me. She wanted to be an Ultrasound Technologist and work in a hospital. She spent it on boobs and parties every weekend and has all designer clothes and leaves my 11 year old daughter at home on the weekends while she does all of this. Recently,she lost her job ran out of money and filed for child support. Even though we have equal time, I have to now pay child support - because I used my money on an education (before I ever met her) and she used hers for implants. My daughter has all she needs at both homes - clothes, shelter, food, toys, books, video games... So essentially I will be paying for her booze and weekends, and clothes. None of this money will go to my daughter. And this is our brilliant court system in action. And to rub salt in the wound, my tax dollars pay for this brilliance. It is truly unbelievable. IF IT IS A TRUE 50/50 AND THE CHILD HAS WHAT SHE NEEDS, NO ONE SHOULD PAY ANYONE ANYTHING. THERE IS NO RATIONALE BEHIND IT. ALSO, CHILD SUPPORT NEEDS TO BE CHILD SUPPORT. NOT EX-WIFE SUPPORT. IF EX-WIVES ARE USING IT FOR THEIR MAKE-UP AND CLOTHES, AND PARTYING THEN THEY ARE THE DEAD BEAT THIEVES WORKING THE SYSTEM. NOT US. AND I DONT BLAME MEN FOR NOT PAYING IT.REPORT COMMENTS

I have been homeless due to these laws. They don't send out warning letters of pending actions against you. In my state which is Georgia. I am current now on my payments. And they made a mistake see my payments are current. They are telling me I have to pay 567.00 To keep my CDL'S from being suspended why? I am so sick of this shit!!!! You see my payments then have the nerve to threatened me. I love my kids and struggling like hell. I play a role in both my daughters lives. And do for them on top of paying child support. Eventhough I am living out of hotels while I am home. I just got a apartment I haven't stepped foot in yet. And received a call about this threat. My son was born Aug, 31, 1997 and he is now 18yrs old. I split with his mother after I found out that she had cheated on me. She blocked my family and I from seeing my son and sued me for back child support totaling $19,000: Below is a letter that I sent to the court detailing the the things that have happened regarding this case and how unfair it was to me and my family: I warned the court of Dralynn Jones?s unstable environment that she was subjecting my son to but the only thing acknowledged was child support not my child?s wellbeing. She dated and lived with a drug dealer, a heroin addict, she barely took my son to school, she up and left her apartment to go to other states only to be homeless with my son on multiple occasions. She lost her temper, held my son against the wall and beat him leaving bruises that were found by his grandmother Tracy Wilson. I went to court to reclaim my parental rights after giving them up for the army but was met with resistance. Dralynn, blocked my family and me from getting to know my son and doing things for him. The state of Pennsylvania gave her the power to use my son as a bargaining chip and keep him away from us. Dralynn used my son to gain sympathy from the state and to get what she wanted from my family. All we wanted was the best for him and to love him but we were robbed of that opportunity. To this day Dralynn hasn?t been investigated or held responsible for welfare fraud, drug use, or child endangerment /child abuse, not working to support her our child. Me on the other hand, my credit has been ruined, passport canceled cutting me off from my family overseas, taxes taken, back child support/arrears, it?s not fair that I?m being eviscerated while she continues to purposely ruin my child?s life with no repercussions and drift rudderless through life. My son Kai-lia Jones has had a problem with anger and had been placed in juvenile hall and mental institutions without anyone stopping to think about what was going on at home like being homeless because his mother left her apartment to go to another state (Tennessee & DC) only to be homeless, kicked out by his mothers and being homeless, mother having strange men over and doing drugs in the house, his mother taking his money and blowing it. She routinely locked him out of the house so she could do drugs or have sex. Kai-lia almost died after having been locked out of the house and cutting his arm to break a window to get into the house, she didn?t care about his health. She requested for him to go to jail that night but instead he went to emergency surgery to save his life. Now my son is on probation due to this and has to live under strict guidelines. She continues to make up lies about my son (even though he doesn?t live with her or have any contact) so he can be put in jail. I go to jail for child support at least 3 times a year, I have no job but I take good care of my children, the courts wants me to pay too much a month and I have no income, while my BM is 29 years old and never had a job, not even looking for work, she has 3 other kids wit three other guys, but she always harassing me, she never buy my kids anything, she sells her food stamps, and when I go to jail and bond out she never spends the money on my kids, how can u lock me up in jail, and I have not committed a crime, my kids love me to death, and the courts forcing me to actually not care for my kids, because whenever my kids need anything, birthdays, Christmas etc. Instead of going out and actually buying my kids things for birthdays and Christmas, I just gotta take that money to the courts so I don't go to jail, and the mother not gone buy my kids nothing with the money, so I guess for now on my kids won't have a good birthday or Christmas or etc. Child support laws is the dumbest law ever and it should be illegal to lock a innocent man up with murderers and rapest and tell me I'm not taking care of my kids when my kids are 10 and 8 they are old enough to tell anybody that dad does everything, but to the courts since I'm not paying I'm a deadbeat dad, this needs to change immediately I'm fed upREPORT COMMENTS

Child support laws are not made for the parents that does not have the child which is typically fathers and there is no set rate its based on gross pay not what you get after taxes this is for it can be made high as possible because the courts make millions of dollars in support cases alone they have a Financial Gain in every case they say it's about the child no its money this is true sad I know but there not going to tell you this they will wait till you are so far behind because they get more money that way they don't care about your bills when the truth is you struggle just to live because your child support is to high to pay should you pay to help yes but at a set rate per child for everyone and not stress about going to jail or court because they payed there car note to have a way to work or rent to have somewhere to live you can be put on child-support and not have visitation rights the justice system is laughable because it does not exist child support and visitation should be done at the same time it's funny because they always try to make the parent with the child to be some kind of victim like they are suffering because of the money which in most cases they are lazy and want to live off you or well above there means children should not be used to get back at someone or for money bags I'm sickened because no one has fixed this issueREPORT COMMENTS

The child support law should be changed. My husband and I have been suffering a loss because of his high child support. He makes good money and his ex purposefully doesn't even tho she could. I believe that child support should be based off of what the parents made when their divorce was finalized. Not based off of current income. There are too many parents that cheat the system so that they can get more money. I believe that child support should not have to be paid by either if there is a 50/50 custody split. The child support calculator is a joke and needs to be terminated. No child needs $1500 a month. not even our two children together get that combined. The child support laws need to change. They are very unfair and are only harming good people that want to be there and care for their kids without having to be punished or penalized for it.REPORT COMMENTS
