i think all parents should take care of their children equally, a father should not be allowed to quit his job, go on welfare and be excused for child support.a mother who has the child full time no visitation at all to the father should not have to foot the bill because the father rather collect welfare then work to support his child.and these judges need to investigate the situation deeper before punishing the mother who works and raises the child full time, 67 a month when the health insurance alone is 144.00 a month, what the heck are these judges thinking when they issue child support obligations.

After 9 years of fighting the system, and losing...I will be taking my case before the supreme court of missouri early next year. This system isnt only unfair, it is illegal. Civil crimes being prosecuted criminally, fathers being sent to "debtors prison", and the courts are no longer prosecuting us, they are "Percecuting" us. At least those who arent trying to hide under the radar and work for cash or change jobs frequently. This system is a travesty.

Why after serving 8 years in the military with on time payments do I get penalized for missing one payment after I get discharged and am unemployed? I think the process in which a modification is done should be immediately. I should have to wait, and incur interest on a child support payment I can't afford due to unemployment.

I pay 1500 per month for two children whom I have at least 25% of the time. An amount equivalent to that of what a real dead beat would pay if he walked away and never seen his kids again. I do not receive any credit for having the children and the expenses I incur. Why is a system allowed to exist in this country that makes it easier for a man to just walk away and abandon his children as opposed to doing the right thing; being a father and raising them? It is a fight and a struggle to do the right thing in the current system. How is this the best interest of the children? Their mother does not want to increase visitation for me because at 45% visitation child support would decrease. She is currently earning a wage that is in the bottom quartile of average wages for her position. Instead, she chooses to deny me and my children the right to spend time together so she can maintain a cushy lifestyle. Study after study has proven that children who have an active father figure in their life are less likely to become criminals, drug addicts, teen parents, and drop out of school. Yet the system allows one parent to deny the other parent equal visitation everyday. How is this in the best interest of the children? How does this ultimately "relieve the tax payers of the state the burden of children from broken homes"? After support and taxes are paid approximately 52% of my check is gone. Upon our divorce, after calculating my budget per month after paying her support and my bills, I was left with a sum of money that would of forced me into sub-standard housing. Thankfully my family helped me avoid this situation. My exwife however currently makes a little less then half of what I make and lives in a 190K home and drives a 2012 Acura. How is forcing children into a situation such as this while they visit their father in their best interests? Is the state going to be held accountable should they become victims of a drive by shooting? Involved with drugs? Kidnapped? Assaulted? Louisiana welfare guidelines suggest that recipients receive around 1100 per month for a 2 bedroom residence. An amount that is twice the size of I was left with. How does the system allow unemployed or underemployed people a higher standard of living then a man who works, pays taxes, and contributes to society? Child support is supposed to maintain the standard of living for the children. What would their standard of living be while they stayed with me had my family not helped? How is that in their best interest? I offered many times to her to pay support. After calculating living expenses, day care, child expenses etc it was found that 1250 per month would of done the job. An amount I would gladly pay for my kids. She instead wanted every dime she could get and used a broken system to do everything within her power to create a hostile and bitter environment to create more pain and suffering. How is that in the best interest of the children? Why does Louisi

In regards to child support one could say that "the fix is in". The courts, counties, lawyers, etc would have to too much to loose if the laws were fair and balanced. This is a multi billion dollar scam that is ruining the lives of many good people. My question is why does one child need 500/month for the necessaties and another needs 1500/month? The lawmakers are too cowardly to do the right thing

Let me start off by saying this..... LUKE 6:31 STATES,TREAT OTHERS THE WAY YOU WANT OTHERS TO TREAT YOU...THE CHILD SUPPORT AGENCY IS NOTHING BUT A BIG FRAUD because my ex wife went to the child support agency EVEN WHEN AND WHILE I WAS ALREADY PAYING CHILD SUPPORT PER THE JUDGE and signed a sworn statement saying i owed $2200.00 back child support and after showing i didn't,the BIG FAT HEAVY SET CASEWORKER THAT ASSISTED HER LET HER VOID THAT STATEMENT OUT AND DO ANOTHER instead of getting her for FRAUD and LYING,and this happened in WARNER ROBINS,GA...HOUSTON COUNTY,and then she lied to the judge and no investigation was even done...So my point is this,Why go by hear say and NOT THE FACTS??? My ex even while i was in IRAQ HAD THE STATE OF GEORGIA CONTACT MY COMMANDER stating i wasnt giving her enough money...SAD RIGHT??? The system is so jacked up THAT now all they do IN THE STATE OF GEORGIA IS HOUND AND HARRASS MEN/FATHERS,EVEN WHEN THE MAN IS TRYING TOOTH AND NAIL TO BE IN THEIR CHILDS LIFE,I'M PAYING CHILD SUPPORT AND HAVE BEEN SINCE DEC 2010 AND MY EX IS AND HAS BEEN LIVING WITH HER PARENTS SINCE JANUARY 2010,1 MONTH AFTER MY MOM PASSED AWAY... The child support agency make it as if the woman getting child support is SOOOO MUCH MORE IMPORTANT THAN THE CHILDS HAPPINESS,SAFETY AND SO FORTH... ALL CHILD SUPPORT AGENCIES LINE 100 KIDS UP AND ASK THE WOULD THEY RATHER THEIR MOM GET ALL THAT MONEY OR SPEND MORE TIME WITH THEIR FATHER?? I BET THEY WILL SAY SPEND MORE TIME WITH MY FATHER...BUT IT BASICALLY IS NOT UP TO THE CHILD NOR THE FATHER,it's up to all those BITTER WOMEN THAT THEY HAVE WORKINIG FOR THE CHILD SUPPORT AGENCIES THAT ARE MAD AND UPSET WITH ALL MEN BECAUSE EITHER THEIR EX BOYFRIEND OR EX HUSBAND broke camp because HE DIDN'T WANNA DEAL WITH THEIR MESS,OR TRYING OT BE CONTROLLING LIKE THEIR MOM OR JUST NOT WANTING TO BE THE WOMAN THE MAN WANTS... PLEASE CHANGE THIS SYSTEM AND STOP CAUSING KIDS TO LOOSE THEIR FATHERS BECAUSE OF THE SYSTEM.MADD MOMS AND LYING MOMS AS WELL.... IS IT REALLY ABOUT THE KIDS????? HMMM

I bring home 35,000 less dollars than my ex wife, and I get hit with enough child support to land me living with friends because I cannot afford my own place anymore, I have become indigent, I have no car, while she rides in a 2013 Toyota camry and lives in a very nice apartment complex??? On top of all of it, according to legal aid,(yes, that's correct, I cannot afford a real lawyer) this is completely fair??? WTF?!? How is this anywhere near fair? Makes me want to move to a different country and renounce citizenship to a country that allows daily, non lubricated, anal rapings of decent hard working fathers everywhere. What in the Hell happened to right to pursue happiness? You cannot do that when you're flat busted broke I can tell you that much.

Women here in El Paso, TX are notorious for having kid after kid and doing nothing to help support their kids. They're on HUD, food stamps, medicaid (which here in Texas the non-custodial parent must pay for) and they show no sign of improving their situation to contribute to the well-being of the child. They sit back and take all the child support in and look for government assistance for other needs. I am not against paying child support. I pay an absurd amount for one child because that's what they decided was fair and that's fine, I guess. I am, however, against custodial mothers just sitting around doing absolutely nothing while the father is working his butt off to meet his child support obligations. They don't work part-time jobs, they aren't enrolled in school, they do nothing. I think the government should step in and correct these problems. I have no faith in our system so I believe things will remain the same.

This system is not only destructing the parents of the children but also the children's quality of life. When are we going to wake up and realize that a system that puts full financial responsibility on the non-custodial parent but fails to require anything from the custodial parent by means of metrics or measurement of how they are parenting! If I pay $750.00 a month for one child and the mother will not work to also support her child then where is the financial contribution from the custodial parent coming from? You actually have to call CPS to have the children checked on! This system is so broken. I would love to debate the fact that this system reinforces the thought that a woman can choose how many children she has on what she wants to make a month! She can literally find out 3 men's incomes, add it up, and decide if that is what she wants to make per month from the child support! What motivation to improve themselves are you promoting with this model? Furthermore, how are you setting the example for our future mothers? Shame on our legal system for accepting such a short sided model that is ruining America. Child support should be fair, equally divided between the parents and monitored monthly to the current living situations. This is not the 1980s anymore. We have computers to track this and can charge both parents in instances that non-compliance requires costs to investigate/resolve. This model is broken and ruining America! I say this, dead beat parents applies to both non-custodial and custodial parents. No excuses. Well I can't work because I am raising a child. NO! You don't have any skills so you raise children for money! Especially the non-custodial parent is as much if not more of a positive, active influence in the child's life. It's just broken and that's why people lose it, go postal, and the children suffer. I, like so many people who signed this, do pay their obiligations properly but recognize that there is a total lack of accountability required of the custodial parents. It needs to change. We need a national organization that actually has some teeth to find some legislator that will take to task the point of reforming child support and post-divorce accountability in this country.
