The child support laws are BS. I can't afford to survive but yet DSS says i am 15,000 behind but they have said this for the past 10 years even though i have been paying every daggone week. I have 4 daughters, 3 of which live with and 1 who still lives in NY with her mother, yet I am being charged independently by both Hawaii state and New York while her mother sits at home unemployed after "quitting" her job and just collects child support from the father of her 2 boys and myself. I can't afford to house myself and can barely afford to feed myself. if i did not have a girlfriend and parents that support me i would be living in the streets. i make just above minimum wage yet i give my ex about half of my income leaving me with next to nothing. she keeps my son from me every chance she gets when i actually want to be in his life. i went to working part time to try and go to college but that caused me to fall deeper and deeper into debt. i try to get my support lowered but i was told that going to college is not a good excuse to get child support lowered. she makes triple the ammount of money that i make. she cheated on me and took everything. she has a 2012 car a nice apartment and i have nothing. i cant afford to go to college to get a job to make better money because i have to work to pay support. so i am stuck at a lousy job making next to nothing just to give her most of it. i dont know what to do anymore. its just not fair. now they are calling and treating to suspend my licence because i owe like 400 in arrears over a 3 and a half year period. sometimes i could not pay because i was sick and had to call off work and most jobs these days dont give you the benefit of sick time . i am about out of options and just ready to give up. somebody please help.REPORT COMMENTS

I agree on a woman show be just as responsible as any man when it comes to child support. I am a Single dad who is disabled and have a 10 year old girl i have raised since she was 2 months old by myself . Recently i bought a new home with our back pay and still owe 25000 on a morgage . My X Stopped paying because she quit her job and says she is filing for disability but she was rejected three times so far . Nc child support will not enforce her 485 dollar court ordered child support and is it also in the divorce decree. She used to pay because the state took it out of her state check but the last two years have been very hard on me and my daughter . I get paid on the 3rd and bills are paid on the 4th and we are broke the second week with bills remaining . We are struggling eating noodles and not able to go anywhere because it cost 10 dollars in gas just to get to the closest grocery store.We have never gone out to eat because we cannot afford it with a school 30 miles away that requires uniforms of a certain kind and she is growing and needs things including regular clothes also . HELP AND MAKE THEM FEMALES PAY . She is way behind in the thousands and thousands and we need that money so desperately.REPORT COMMENTS

I find it amusing that women who have nothing to offer the world except adulterous relationships that they create unwanted children during say they don't care about the money, they just want the father in their children's life. But once they realize that they aren't going to get the father back in bed to create yet another unwanted child, then its all about the money. Why can't the government see these women for what they are? And to all the men helping create these poor children that do nothing but suffer from your lust, they do sell condoms not only to protect from unwanted children and child support but also from unwanted diseases too!REPORT COMMENTS

This is absolutely true... There needs to be accountablility in the receiver of Child Support... Show where the money goes... I can only speak on MY case, but the mother refuses to work and uses the child as a crutch to do so... She won't sign him up for sports becasue she refuses to take the time to drive to games and such... She leaves him with his drunken mother or pot smoking son (my 25yo stepson) to go out and party with her several different male friends... So, yes, this does happen and the receiver should be working to help support the child. The child support laws in this country are deplorable... I have provided for my children 100% since day one and have continued through the divorce... but now since the court has made it's decision, I am paying twice as much, I am paying for two kids and one of them lives with ME! I hate that men think that they are supporting the mother of their children by paying them a monthly amount of child support. food, housing, utilities, gas, insurance all things needed to support a child is the responsibility of both parents. Also, if you are married to someone who complains that they have to support their spouse because their spouse has these type of obligations. It becomes your obligation to help support your spouse. This petition makes me sick...people do not know circumstances of each individual person. I myself am a single working mother who also collects child support . I am the caregiver 99.9% of the time. If you chose to have children with someone then regardless of how things work out with your spouse you r responsible to take care of those children. I am sickened to hear all the whiney men talk about their ex's getting them for this amount of money and that...it is never about the money it's about your children...grow a pair and be real men!!!! Child Support laws should consider all factors, mother's life choices, not only how much can they make a father pay. There are so many resources available to single mothers to educate themselves, yet so little of them do that. I recently went to school to better myself, for myself and my family. However, with current child support laws, i'm working to support my two children and their mothers and have nothing left to contribute to my current wife and family. How is this fair? Even if the woman works part time the father still pays a ridiculous amount in support. If a woman is capable to work a full time job they should base their calculations off a full time salary not a part time salary. My son mother works only part time only so she can get a low monthly rent rate because she lives in an apartment complex that goes off of your income. So by here working only part time for the last 8yrs it makes me pay more in child support. I have no problem paying child support but when the mother chooses to work part time with no reason at all she can't work full time it's unfair. Child support laws have created modern day slavery. There are many fathers who make minimum wage and struggle to survive economically. Often times, when these fathers start to work overtime or get a second job to make ends meet, part of the additional income is taken for child support. These laws are extremely biased. Child support money should be handled like food stamps. A debit card that can only be used to by items for the child such as diapers, medicine, toys etc. It should not be cash that the custodial parent can use to go out to the bar or pay there rent because they dont want to work. I believe the laws for child support need to be changed in fairness to all.Why does css and dcse have guidlines if they are not going to be followed by the judges that make the rulings over them.My son was paying D.C.S.E. obligated payments ,working two jobs however the judge said it wasnt enough put him in jail for two years then let him out on work realease to work one job and haveing to pay $70.00 a week to the jail for the program.How on earth is this helping the children? The person who came up with these laws evidently has never had a low paying job.Take their drivers license,put them in jail,only gets the moms and dads further behind ,Who was the silly person that came up with that law ? And one of my sons xwives was getting support from welfare without his knowlage while they were married ,when this was brought to the judges attention he shrugged it off and said it wasnt his concern. Corupt judges,we vote them in but its hard to get them out! If a judge has ever had to pay child support,he should not be able to reside over childsupport cases,most cases are unfair,not all are deadbeat moms and dads.Its been 3 yrs. since my son has seen his children and as a grandparent its been one year since my wife and I have seen the children,the laws need to be changed,immediatly.;REPORT COMMENTS
