I posted on this site before about child support, my senator wrote me a email back stating that child support is what it is, he also said it was a state issue. What he did'nt read my son lives with me. I am paying a 1000 a month to a register nurse and CS will not modify my court order. What I cant understand how the state can steal money from your kids and get away with this.... They use the court to set payments so high a person cant live and for each dollar the state collect the federal goverment pay the state. The comment best interest of the child (bull)best interest of the state. I do apologize to my Rep, with all the problem the US is facing with unemployment , 2 wars , bad infrastructure, trillions of dollars in debt , immigration issues, global warning and nothing being done What makes people on this site think something will happen. Because we are American and we fight for what we believe in dont stop people keep the letters email going until something happen tell friends cousins whoever about this system.REPORT COMMENTS

How about having to pay child support for a kid who was adopted that at 17 decided to run away and return to the birth parent that had their rights terminated by DHS after CPS removed them from the home. Child support should just be done away with. If you want the kid(s) it should not be because of the money--so just remove it from the equation (whenever possible). I have been paying and owing child support since the age of 16. i was first ordered to pay $200/mo. this was in the year 2000. 12 years, a few kids, and some on and off again employment later, i am forced to pay $1,000/mo plus Health Care Cost wich is another $120/mo. My annual gross is $38,000. Minus that by taxes and , minus that .$13,000 for child support and health care.minus that by $4800 for student loans. This leaves me with a little over $20,000 a year for every other expense in my life.. I am now 29yrs old with a house bill, gas bill ,electric bill, transportation cost, food cost, and other household obligation. YOU TELL ME HOW THE HECK AM I LIVING THE AMERICAN DREAM???!!!!!!REPORT COMMENTS

I am agree with this petition, because my brother is in jail for not paying support for one year. He was unemployed for three year.but he still paying his child support from his unemployment check. They get divorce and he trust her with his income tax and she did identity theft with his IRS check. She opened a bank account and withdrawal $8,000 dollars, and she still in the street and my brother is in jail for 3 months. Nobody give us any information about when the judge going to see him, the only thing the DHR lady said if he get $5,000 dollars may be ; he can get out of jail. This happen because my brother belief that she was a good person. She is living with another man , and she is in welfare. She is one of those that know how to play the system.REPORT COMMENTS

I am on the opposite side of the fence of most. I have always worked. Always provided for my children and their healthcare. O even agreed to less child support each month as to not create a burden. My children's father never bothers with them and I never push the issue of child support even though he doesn't pay. And no, I did not get remarried or shack up with someone else who is helping to support me and my kids. So, he's kinda digging his own hole even though I kindly forgave arrears and accepted a reduced amount from the start. But, that also, does not change my opinion on believing each parent needs to contribute regardless if you are the custodial or non-custodial parent.REPORT COMMENTS

My husband pays 900 a month in cs. We have a daughter together that we can't give 900 to. His ex marriec a millionaire and had another child. We never see his daughter we pay yes 900ma month for! We haven't seen her in 3 yrs! I am tired of lazy free loaders taking advantage! I would have loved to stay home with my daughter or after our twins died. But we need to hand over 900 a month!
