This is absurd. I pay $800 a month which is 1/4 of my income while my ex-wife spends it on marijuana and doesn't work a full time job. She is using me for a well fare check. I have paid her over $40,000 in cash. Meanwhile, i get taxed on this income and she doesn't. Her family brings in more money than my family and we have the kids 50/50. There is nothing fair to fathers about this system.

I agree, if there is a father, a "DADDY" who wishing to take up the time and raise their kids just as well as the MOM, support should be split 50/50 and time sharing should be split 50/50, mothers and the state reps. try and use the terms "stable environment" or "best for child's interest" but just as the mother can make arrangements for the kids when at work or needing to take care of whatever it is they need to take care of, the father can do the same. Or country is becoming ruined. I know we have all heard that it takes a village to raise a child. But yet our government is allowing women to dictate how and when the father can and cannot spend time with "their kids". And in the end, its the children who suffer from the dictated time-sharing schedules. I have two children who I previously had a parenting schedule in place , so that no more than 4 days would go by without seeing my children. With at least 2 overnights a week. Due to my recent job change (due to the state suspending my license) the courts have set that parenting plan aside, changing this to every other weekend. Now that I have lost my job in transportation due to not having a license, being that I've been ordered to pay $1100 a month for 2 children. I make $16 an hour, their mother make $18 hr. I have 2 other children outside of the two I have with her. I have no issues with my previous two children (time-sharing and support) but being this mother is "BITTER" the DCSE plays to their role. This is RIDICULOUS!!!!

I pay 180 weekly. After that I have 210 to live off of ..... to rejust my income I will lose my truck and home that my kids stay @ every weekend. Ex wife does not work and tells me take care of my kids more ..... when we have kids it is 50/50 intended that way. Laws are set up that the father is a bad guy and he'll have to make due whatever the court takes from him and gives to parent with kids. Not sure why I'm the bad guy when I get them every weekend and when school is out .... to make due I will have part time job and more likely will never see them much and then the kids can thank the court from taking their dad away and growup single parent home.

Im a non custodial paret of 2 and pay my child support every week . I dont mind paying for my childrens need but . My questions are . Why is child support a percentage of my gross salary ? Why isnt it my take home pay ? Cause after taxes and child support for 2 /25% Im left with less than half of my pay and have to take a second job to try to compensate . This takes time from my children ,and cant survive . WHY is child support not a tax write off ? If only that ...If I could write off child support and be 25%of my net aka take home pay . I coud survive and actually aford to do things with my kids . Right now I barely have enough money to feed them when I have them . Things need to change , Its immoral and Inhumane to penilize someone who is there for and tries to provide for his children ,regardless of the marital status of their parents . We need a voice and a govt official willing to fight for the hard working divorced dad that does the right thing by their kids .

I do not have children of my own but my fiancee has 4 that he pays child support to, 2 from 2 different marriages. He loves his children to death and has no problem working to support their needs but he is living in poverty and cant afford to live himself. He works 45 plus hours a week and sees less than 60 percent of his paycheck. His first wife is a nurse who is married and has 4 other children with the man she left my fiancee for and they live a very well off life and the children want for nothing. His ex wife lives off of child support checks and welfare money, has 4 children with 4 different men. My fiancee adopted one of the children and one is biological his so he pays support for 2 of the children. She works a part time minimum wage job and pretty much expects everyone else to take care of her and the kids. The system is a joke and I really don't blame men for walking away. Things need to change drastically and these women need to get off their asses, get a job and stop spreading their legs.

I am at my end of the rope! I am at the precipice of my existence! Will it take martyrdom to get resolve?! I am willing to take a stand against this tyrannical genocide. It may sound extreme but how long are we going to sit here and take this abuse????? It's horrendous!!! I want to fight but I have no weapons to ensure my protection. I know there are more than 8300 people that disagree! What are we afraid of? Look around you. Injustice is dominant! And we all sit here hoping! Wishing! Something will change! It's not unless we sacrifice for what is right! No human should endure suffering and ridicule because of a label. We are all not the same. This is AMERICA! We have GOD GIVEN RIGHTS! We are ambassadors of a creator that gave us free will. Not to be bound by money or material things. I love my children. But I WILL BE DAMNED IF ANY GOVERNMENT KNOW THE BEST INTEREST OF MY CHILDREN. I WILL NOT BOW IN SHAME ANY MORE!

The system is not fair at all to men who are doing the right thing by taking care of their children. I have not seen my child in 12 years and have been paying child support without seeing her. The mother stated that I was abusive and the courts sided with her along with the state representative over the case. Since the child was born I have shared what ever little I had at the time. I am good to serve my country but not good enough to be a father. I believe in taking care of my responsibility, but not at the cost of making the mother happy. No one cares about the outcome to the child. The court system preys on the man, but society wants equality for both men and women. If you wish to be fair be fair across the board. She was allowed to take the child out of state without notifying me, but the child support stay the same. This was someone who has taken advantage of the system and used it to her own benefit. It is sad that the child is the one who is hurt out of this conflict of deceit, and deception. I did not hear from the mother until close to my retirement; in which she miscalculated the date and realize that I had one more year to go. Then,... I hear from her. Does the state care? "No!". I was then told by DCSE that they could not give me her address of where she was residing. This is unbelievable for someone who has done the right thing from the start. Child Support is a one-sided Institution placed solely on the man to be burdened and ridiculed. If this should go on; then in all 50 states DNA test should be mandatory once the child is born. And see how these women out here: trapping men who have a future. I guaranteed child support would really crumble to there knees. The system in this country caters to woman. Some may not want to say it, but I will be straight and to the point! DCSE IS A JOKE!

I believe that the system should be spilt 50/50. I think we should have a system were both parents are on support. Meaning both provide monthly to an account to provide for the child right down the middle so that the effects on the paycheck is felt on both ends. Child support shouldn't be taking care of the mother. The fathers should have the right to be able to live a happy fulfilling life also and support himself and his new family etc. The amount of depression that comes to a man that's unable to provide his family. To many people have taken advantage of the system which is clearly broken. If the noncustodial has any type of career the mother benefits while keeping the father living damn near paycheck to paycheck. I am a victim of this flawed system. Everytime I try to do better for myself my ex runs back to court. I am now having to pay 906 dollars a month for a potential income I haven't even made yet. Things must change.

    1) The default should be 50:50 parenting schedule and child support should be calculated based on that. In my case, court has approved only 10% of visitation, even though I want to be involved with them for 50%. two people make the children, and two people should raise them.

Im a father of 3 and I pay child support to one of them out of walworth county Wisconsin, witch is set up more like a prison for black men.I work hard and pay 300 per month to my ex that never had a job in her life and dosnt take care of my son at all.If the government has set up child support for mother with no job and party all the time with money that is soppose to be going to my son well being then this is a statement that women run the country and dead beat women can run over hard working fathers. The courts order says I can only see my son one day a week and he can not have my last name because he probably new how to spell it already, my son hand just turn 2 and didnt even know how to spell or write his name and still to this day two years later still cant spell or wright his name.the system is a joke and so is this country.

I think it is out of control and ridiculous. Yes, the custodial mother also works but she is with her child 2x a wk while we are with the child 3-4x a wk and have our own and still she threatens to take him back for more and the courts will grant it. She uses the money for herself and the child uses the same clothing so where is the money going? I think proof should be shown now

My husband has been paying child support while the women he pays sit at home, do drugs, fool around with men, and remain unemployed and he gets to watch as his children are raised in bad environments. We have reported this to SRS and they have done nothing but side with the mothers. This is completely unbelievable and must stop. The court system in KY GIVES the women a base rate pay regardless if she is working or not so they can make additional money. This is a system that needs to be revamped and laws put in place!

I have a hard time believing that child support guidelines in this country acts in the best interest of the very people that child support is meant for (children). To keep a long story short, there is fundamentally something wrong with a system that rewards custodial parents for alienating non-custodial parents in an effort to manipulate the support amount that they receive. There's something fundamentally wrong with a system that allows a custodial parent to be on FOOD STAMPS and MEDICAID, paid for with FL TAX PAYER dollars and allow this same individual to claim that they can afford a nanny and daycare expense for an 8 year old child in school fulltime in the amount of $800 a month and close to $10,000 a year while earning slightly over $20,000 a year without raising a red flag. How can someone claim they do not earn enough to buy groceries but earn enough to pay close to $10,000 a year in child care and a nanny for a school age child? Granted I understand that the more money the state can withhold from hard working non-custodial parents, the more the state earns, but allowing a non-custodial parent to blatantly extort money and pad unreasonable expenses in an effort to manipulate the system at hand is outright wrong and felonious. The current system was originally set to ENFORCE and ensure that ?deadbeat dads? take care of their children but instead it has completely failed the father?s who are working hard and are trying to be compliant with the current guidelines as they stand and are taking care of their responsibilities. In closing, I would like to say I sympathize with custodial parents that are UTILIZING the system TRUTHFULLY and are not being provided support by ?deadbeat dads?, but holding the father?s and the non-custodial parents who are doing what their supposed to hostage for the failures of those irresponsible individuals is not the correct way to go about it either. I strongly believe it is time that we start an open and educated dialogue regarding child support reform.

The child support laws are unfair and the court is biased. The custodial parents are getting large amounts in child support, while the other parent can barely survive. The sole financial responsibility should not fall on the non-custodial parent cause they make more than the other parent it should be equal, and the courts should be fair not siding with the mother to screw over the father. The current system penalizes the good fathers who are trying to do the right thing. The fathers in the military have it even worse. Something needs done about this.. Child Support as become a lifestyle for some women. Also some oversight needs to be done to account for how the money is spent.

Both my husband and myself had children from our first marriages. I never asked my ex husband for support and my husband gave everything he owned to his ex wife at the time he moved overseas and married me which at the time she agreed this would be used to help her support the children and they would be allowed to visit us once a year at our expense. The contact visits never happened because she refused to get their passports and little did we know that she filed for child support through her countries child support agency after we left on top of him leaving her everything and I mean everything except his clothing. Years later we were hit with arrears and monthly CS payments. Our state has enforced these even though any supporting documents can not be provided. My husband has been out of work for almost 2 years on and off and is 56 years old. His son is now 22 and moved out of his mothers home at 16 (which is allowed in the country they live in) yet she was still able to claim support for him for 2 more years. The past 5 months my husbands unemployment benefits after tax and CS was $46 dollars a week!!! That is $184 a month not including what part of that the state tax will get at the end of the year. We are now about to lose our home and cars due to unfair collections. This system is totally ridiculous. His son has not spoken to him in over 8 years because of the lies his mother has told him and the fact she would never allow contact and due to CS payments we could not afford to pursue overseas legal action to enforce contact but the government will sure enforce CS payments overseas at their cost for the parent due support. This country, no correction this world has totally lost the plot. If a child has the amount of money a paying parent is paying spent on them per month plus doubled by the custodial parent....... then that's one spoiled child. No child I know living with both parents has hundreds or thousands of dollars spent on raising them per month unless they had a silver spoon in their mouth their entire life. The system needs to wake up and realize the best thing you can give a child isn't bought with money, It's given in time with both parents.

Erie County in NYS is by far the worst court system in the USA. Being ridiculed and made to feel horrible about myself because the country had a recession and I couldn't afford paying $530/month making $12/hr. I have my daughter 4 days less per month than her mother...4 DAYS, yet I have to pay an astronomical amount of support. I buy ALL her clothes, ALL her school supplies, have her in social activities, assist her with her homework and projects, take her places, etc...being what a parent should be. Her mother does NOTHING and still gets paid for it. My daughter wants to live with me but the courts don't care they just want me to pay the ex, who also set me up big time. SHE said to give her less than the court ordered amount because it was unfair...SHE DID, but the court overruled her and now I have to pay arrears. The gov't needs to mind their own business when both parties can agree outside of court. When they ARE needed they need to be fair for all, ESPECIALLY the child. My favorite quote from our judge (Neil Bernholtz) "This is my court and my rules. Child support is not for the child and she can spend every dime of support on booze and drugs." I have reached out to MANY attorneys for representation and when they hear that Magistrate Bernholtz is presiding they refuse to take the case. They lump the deadbeat dads and the ones who go way above and beyond all into one group and it sucks! These are reasons why fathers become absent and non supportive but that's all fine and dandy to the courts...as long as they pay support.

I understand whole heartedly that a parent has a responsibility in raising his or her kids. However, I have a problem with extortion to coerce a human to sacrifice their standard of living in order to stay out of jail or lose their privileges. Last I checked this was America, right? People do not reailze that this law could be a precursor to even worse mandates against other Americans. If it's legal to put a man or woman in jail for contempt of not paying money, how far will they take it and use this law to force you to pay taxes or past due bills. Watch out for the underlying measure. Obama care is now here and who knows. You could be in jail soon for not enrolling or paying your penalty. You never saw it coming right? Wrong! It does not bother you until it involves you. We are all born with God given rights or whatever higher power you believe. No man has a right to enslave a group of people merely on the motive of collecting money. No government knows the best interests of my Children. Open your eyes people this country is collapsing all around us and its because of people that have no other motive than to be in power and eventually enslave all of us to answer to the 1% of the so called elite. I would give my life for my Children. It's a no brainer for me. If I have to hear another politician use the "best interest of the children" scam I am going to lose my head. It's all a grand stand to get more votes and stay in power. God help this nation and may he forgive those who have spat in the faces of those who are not guilty.

Many states do not have reasonable formulas for joint physical custody child support. PA for example. If I make 1000 more per month than my ex, 500 goes to CS. Experts say that with 2 kids ~40% of your income is spent on kids. 40% of that 1000 is 400(200 for me to spend on them and 200 for her) not 500 for her. What is the other 300 for? Her lifestyle (psudo-alimony) The feds need to provide more guidance to states. Obviously some of them can't get it right.
