After all these years of congress ignoring this unfair practice towards a group of hard working Americans is outrageous. Congress should do the right thing and pass this bill now.REPORT COMMENTS

We as teachers across the country also strongly urge Congress to support HR 235 and S. 484 Social Security Fairness Act. Passage of this Act will end the very unfair practice of penalizing us up to 40% of our rightfully earned Social Security benefits from working other jobs in the evening in order to survive low pay and not being paid during the summers. It is especially difficult for those of us who are single and our sole support.REPORT COMMENTS

When I look at my check stub and see that large chunk of money taken from the actual amount that I've earned, that it is part of my retirement holds in check any resentment I would otherwise feel. I consider this in light of the fact that my employer would do much to rob me of even the small pension I am to expect. A penalty of one or the other is absolutely unjust.REPORT COMMENTS

We paid for the benefits and the money was used for other purposes. Let's see some of that stimulus money going to make that wrong action right. They are guaranteeing the Chrylser employees their retirement benefits, so why not the Social Security beneficiaries.REPORT COMMENTS
