Pass the Social Security Fairness Act. The Windfall Elimination Provision has severely slashed my Social Security benefits, creating serious financial hardship for me. -

I am employeed at a Community College in Texas and am 100% vested in Social Security. I encourage Congress to support HR 235 and S. 484 - Social Security Fairness Act so that I and others in my situation are not penalized for having paid into social security.REPORT COMMENTS

I also earned my 40+ hours of credits before, during and after my service as a law enforcement officer in Kentucky. The WEP provision needs to be removed and Police Officers should receive their full benefits. If the government can find 54 Million dollars from that criminal Chris Dodd to bankroll an Indian casino in his home state then why are we denied repeatedly. We are a bigger voting block.REPORT COMMENTS

I worked to earn my 40 credits of social security before and during work as a peace officer. I retired as a peace officer and I am now employed and contributing once again to social security. Either allow me to receive the minimum payment which I have rightfully earned, or stop taking money from me.REPORT COMMENTS

This bill should be passed, otherwise the Goverment should return all of our money to us who paid into the system, that would be fair instead of using our money for hopeless programs such as health care or all who paid into the system otherwise give us full health care without any deductables for the citizens who paid into the system, we are being punish for seeking better jobs which did not required us to pay into the systemREPORT COMMENTS

I have worked since the age of 14. BECAUSE I WAS RAISED TO EARN A LIVING. As a women in the workforce with low wages, I have relied on the future earnings of social security and was taken back when the government made my future uncertain in retaining a decent way of life. Denying the full benefit of social security to those who have applied their deligent work to pay into social security is not reasonalbe. I am 67 and cannot retire. Still working two jobs. Keeping my health is promising me that I can work into the future for who knows how long. Although there is never an ideal to a situation working forever is not possible. Please vote for HR235 and S484. THANK YOUREPORT COMMENTS

My wife has worked very hard and earned her social security benefits. She is also a retired school teacher with a retirement benefit from the state of Kentucky. Many persons who have worked in the private sector with two or more jobs for so many years who have pensions from their employers don't get penalized by one employer just because they are receiving pension income from another employer. What would give a employer the right to reduce a person's pension amount just because they are receiving a pension from another employer? That pension was earned through hard work and is needed during retirement to make ends meet. Why is social security any different???? Please support HR235 and S. 484.REPORT COMMENTS

This legislation has been languishing in Congress and the Social Security Subcommittee of the House Ways and Means Committee for over a decade. Barbara Kennelly, President of the National Committee to Preserve Social Security and Medicare and former ranking member of the Social Security Subcommittee of the House Ways and Means Committee and Counselor to the Commissioner of the Social Security Administration apparently has done nothing to pass or promote the Social Security Fairness Act and Windfall Elimination Provision that effects every retired law enforcement officer in this country including me. The law enforcement officers of this country earned, deserve and have died for the right to full Social Security retirement benefits in addition to their respective department pensions that they have paid for. Our senators and representatives in congress continue to sit and do nothing for the thin blue line, the first and foremost line of defense in this country. The Grande Lodge of the Fraternal Order of Police advise us that there are only 309 co-sponsors in the House and only 29 co-sponsors of this bill in the Senate. We need and demand that the people that we put in Washington to represent us do it and do it now, not next week, next month or ten more years from now. I've written letters to President Obama and the White House web site with absolutely no response. With things as they are in this country, if I were the President and Congress, I would listen to the needs of law enforcement both active and retired and take our cause up NOW. Storm clouds are billowing, an ominuos sign ! The people are not happy and we are going to begin to show how unhappy we are come November. This country was born over 200 years ago on a revolution and it's going to be reborn again the same way if our representatives do not heed the will of the people.REPORT COMMENTS
