As public servants we risk our lives so you can live. To take our livelihood (retirement) would me a literal slap in the face for all of our cuts, scrapes, gunshot wounds, broken bones, dismemberments, failed recoveries and unspoken sacrifices just to start. We fight the never ending war. We don't get to "go home" when the white flag is raised. We simply KEEP fighting. And yes...it is a fight. I want to encourage you...the reader of this petition to go to your local police station and sign up to do a ride along. You will see first hand (not from the safety of your television while cops is on) what we endure in a day. Then perhaps you will be moved to help us salvage what comfort we are due when we can no longer fend. Not only am I denied my full benefits from years of work before teaching in CA, I am also denied benefits of my deceased husband who contributed to Social Security all of his working years. This does not seem fair.REPORT COMMENTS
