S484 must be passed to put an end to the discriminatory reductions in the SS benefits that workers recieve....benefits they have already been paid into the system! This is an example of an economic injustice that can be ended..Obama pledged to sign it- it just needs passage.Mar 22nd, 2010Someone from Fair Oaks, CA signed.

Due to the unfair GPO I am forced to live below poverty level. I have worked all my life. Social Security under the present law will get more of my social security than I ever will. This is inhumane. Please hear the cries for help as this effects many and leaves them with income at or below povety level just because they served there country.REPORT COMMENTS

I, too, paid fully into SS and civil service and receive roughly only 38% of my earned SS. Grossly unfair! It is like paying into two life ins policies and one paying only part of contract because another is also paying.REPORT COMMENTS

I am in support of passing HR235 and S.484 the Social Security Fairness Act. We only want what we have earned, this is unfair to all the people that has served their country, state and federal. What's fair about the government keeping your money and giving it to someone else.REPORT COMMENTS

Close to 50% was lost due to the WEP program. I barely had 40 Quarters to qualify, so my benefit was going to be small anyway. I will barely have enough to pay for medicare part B. Shame on the Government. Please repeal [WEP and GPO]REPORT COMMENTS

I worked two jobs all my life. I'm 62 years old. I work in the private sector for 34years, and OPERS for 30 years.I am now retired. I just recieved my Social Secreity benifit, and it was reduced by 30%! I was told it was reduced because I have a OPERS pension. Why should I be reduced 30% of my benifit because I worked two jobs and paid more taxes than most people? You are penalizing certain people in Ohio for working two jobs, and you are have created a double standard. All people should be allowed to work as many jobs as they chose. All people should be allowed to recieve the benifit they are entiled to, with out prejudice!!Please do right for all the people you represent. I expect nothing less from you!REPORT COMMENTS

I am a widow 60 years old who paid into SS and also taught school. I am now being penalized because I spent 15 years as a public servant. I can't get my fair share of what I or my deceased husband put in to our SS accounts. This is not the way to treat teachers or anyone who clearly deserve better treatment by our government. We did our share- not it's time for fairness. Repeal SS Windfall and Pension Off set now!REPORT COMMENTS

My husband paid into Social Security for 45 years and only collected benefits for 1 month prior to his death. I received a 1 time widow's benefit of $200 and am not entitled to receive any of his SS because I have a pension from my teaching profession. Every year I encountered many students and their families that lived on SS, money that my husband put into the system. The surviving spouse should at least get the money that was put into SS. Rather than tampering with our health care, I hope Congress gets around to passing HR 235 and S 484.REPORT COMMENTS

Worked 27 years as Cleveland police Office-always took part-time jobs at Sears to pay into Social Security-paid full benefits. Only got part of what I thought was owed to me. Now i have been working as a nurse at the Cleveland Clinic for 14 years, still paying my full amount into SS and still not receiving what I am entitled to. Why is it that a illegal alien or dope user that never paid a dime into SS can get more SS that me? I love my country but despise my government! CREPORT COMMENTS

Congress needs to act and pass bills HR235 and S.484 immediately to correct any forms of discrimination, and end the unfair practice of penalizing widows and widowers who have loss a spouse by death and has not remarried. I am 62 and retired CSR with 20 years of service. I strongly feel that as a widow, with only a reduced pension from CSR that I should not be penalized and entitled to my deceased spouse Social Security benefits without being penalized.REPORT COMMENTS

soc security is not supposed to be based on need. If you paid in you should get the same amount anyone else receives who worked and paid in the same amount.REPORT COMMENTS
