I'm a retired 911 dispatcher after 21 years of service, spent 17.5 years in the private sector paying into SS. Got penalized by 40% of my ssa benefits due to my state retirement. The WEP provision takes $430.00 from me every mount reducing my spending power. This is totally unfair to me and millions of other people who tried to plan for their future only to be penalized by my government. Repeal this darkening program and restore our faith in the premise of fairness to the people. -

I am a registered nurse and have contributed to SS for 37 years. I am still working. My husband is a retired civil service employee who receives a pension. If I die before I can start receiving money THAT I EARNED, my husband gets nothing, My husband of 37 years should receive his survivor's benefit. This law steals the money that I am working very hard as a nurse to earn. Representative Mo Brooks, this is very important to government employees in your district.REPORT COMMENTS

This needs to happen. Has anyone in Washington ever had a teacher ? needed a police officer or firefighter? Or anyone of those other jobs compromised by the current state of unfairness with our getting our rightful social security? I remember when I went into teaching from law, districts and public education officials were clamoring for people to come into teaching from business, law, and other areas. We answered this call only to get penalized? Why are WE being penalized - some of the hardest working, least respected or appreciated jobs in this county? MAKE THIS FAIR!!!!!!REPORT COMMENTS
