What recourse do we have against Minors Counsel when they ignore 730 evaluators, and childrens therapist making recommendations in the best interest of the child. Unfortunately, Family Courts are not about the 'best interests of the children'. Between Father's Rights groups and corrupt attorneys, child reps, evaluators and therapist, cases are 'sold to the highest bidder' which in many cases is the abuser. The courts line their buddies pocketbooks by assigning case after case to child reps and evaluators who don't follow guidelines or the law. There is no accountability or recourse. Children pay the highest price for the injustice of the so called Family Court System. I am again a victim of a corrupt system as my two sons were taken from me and awarded sole custody to their abusive father. The court system did not care that my husband had been arrested twice once on domestic battery charge. Sad to say, my case although horrific is not so unique. The pattern is very clear and in fact there are manuals available from Father's Rights groups how to strip custody from a mother. Think I am kidding-I wish I was. I support this petition to end the abuse of children in the California Family Courts. I am outraged and moved to tears by the stories that I have heard, and this corruption must be exposed. Sadly, this is the same modus operandi for the family courts in Kitsap County, Washington where my children also became victims of the system when I dared to voice concern for their safety. The Family Law System in California is broken - and the victims are the children. They are our future, our most precious asset, and they are being hurt, abused, and -more importantly, ignored and overlooked. How can any Court Collateral decide "the best interests of the child", when they don't take the time to get to know the players and see the lies and manipulations that are being perpetuated on a daily basis? It's even worse - the court collaterals will go and intentionally deceive the courts to obtain the desired result. The California State Bar, the National Association for Minor's Counsel, and the Commission on Judicial Performance are flooded with complaints about these unethical and immoral attorneys and evaluators who are out destroying lives! Federal lawsuits are being filed by parents who are trying to right the wrongs that the corrupt court system in California has done. Judges are being sued personally for breach of contract; they are cited for filing incomplete and/or erroneous court documents. They have DV actions against them in their personal lives - and yet they are fit to sit in judgement of others? The system needs to have accountability to the People they are sworn to protect. The Presiding Judges, friends of those they are supposed to monitor, are the most ineffective to handle the commplaints that are filed! Pass the word on this petition - get the Public educated as to the inadequacies of the Family Law Syste. For God's Sake - help us to protect our children from the corruption of the Family Law System that routinely places children with the abusers and batterers!!REPORT COMMENTS

Parental Alienation (Child Abuse)is a term that needs to be investigated very carefully. It can be used in two ways: 1. by an abusive parent to make the loving parent look bad and 2.by a loving parent who has been denied the right to see his/her own child while the custodial parent programs the child's mind to think ill of the innocent loving parent. Divorce can be vicious and vindictive with a strong desire to get even. What better way than to use the child? The child is caught in the middle and becomes a victim of Emotional abuse. They are often afraid to tell the truth because they fear they will lose the love of the controlling parent. If they have not been a victim of abuse by the other parent, they are confused. I takes a TRAINED person to determine who is telling the truth. Courts usually appoint a Guardian ad Litem, who has NO EXPERIENCE in psychological issues and has no idea how to determine the truth from a lie. They don't know what questions to ask the children and are apt to believe which ever parent sounds the most reasonable. This is a tragedy that sends the family into chaos and causes emotional harm that will follow the child all through life. The judge relies entirely on the GAL to get the facts. Physical or sexual abuse is sometimes present and the child must be protected from that. Emotionally abused children need to be protected, as well. Before any more laws are made, we need to get our priorities straight. This is not a one sided issue than can be solved by another law. Education is needed first. There are experts out there who deal with these issues every day. Have they ever been invited to a hearing or a study group to discuss this? This atrocity unfortunately is not limited to California, as you can see from the comments below. A ruling came down last week here in New Jersey where a judge awarded FULL CUSTODY of two little girls to the father who had sexually molested them. The protective mother cannot even have contact with them until SHE undergoes two months of therapy! The sickness of this system defies belief and unfortunately, too many people don't believe such things are happening. Thank you for this petition. The only part I do not agree with wholeheartedly is hearing the abuse cases in criminal court. My child was brave enough to testify in criminal court, and the jury believed him, but not beyond a reasonable doubt. The standard in family court is supposed to be preponderance of evidence. I have been witnessing what my daughter and granddaughter have been going through out in California not only have I witnessed it I was also a target of his abuse while visiting one of the times I was out there. Had my 9 1/2 month pregnant daughter not jumped between her ex-husband and me I would have also been his victim. Family court judges, minors cousels, psychologists, mediators, etc. turn the tables on protective parents and use bogus mother-blame tactics like parental alienation, mental illnesses, moms being a danger because she believes what the kids are telling her, etc., etc., to take custody away and give children to abusers. This is a very effective way to silence them. The suffering and devastation caused is incalculable. This harms children outside the family as well since the predators have access to all children, and abused children sometimes go on to abuse others.
