I am founder of an advocacy group (www.AngelGroup.org). We focus on family court and custody issues in Hawaii but work 'arm in arm' with other organizations to bring about family court reform...a nationwide crisis. I hear so many horrific stories caused by the courts. Thanks to everyone who signs this petition and works to 'get the word out'. It's time to STOP HURTING THE CHILDREN! -

I am in Arizona and am having to force my daughter into court ordered reunification with a multi feloned criminal, with serious mental illness and for the past year he has all the rights. She has never known him and she was a sweet little 10 yr. old and now is self harming but nobody cares. Just keep it up. They can add at least me and her to the list of unnecessary destruction of good people who just wanted to be safe!REPORT COMMENTS

The children were forced to spend 40% of their time with their alcoholic/drug addicted father and step-mother. They were verbally and emotionally abused and thrown around and were forced to get in the car while their father was driving them while under the influence. I have been a victim of this court system for 7 years. My daughter is suffering at the hands of her abuser, this must end! Judges need to look at the evidence before them and not base ruling on what they feel is in the best interest of the children. The judges personal life nor their opinion on having the child have 50/50 between both parents should NEVER be a deciding factor. If there is domestic violence than supervised to no visitation should be the norm. Our children are suffering because of a broken system!REPORT COMMENTS

I and my children are a victim of this abuse. I have not had a regular visit with my children in two years and I could very well get my only contact(phone calls) taken away simply because I am asking that my ex abide by the court ordered visitations for which I am allowed. They expect you to want your children which they know you will continue to come back to court to ask for, and that is how they continue to receive federal funds which perpetuate as a result. Some of the people for whom you think are helping are actually profiting from our suffering. I am the mother of children whose father and stepfather have sexually abused them, but our corrupt family court has turned a blind eye to their abuse, labeled me with parental alienation for having brought the abuse to light, threatened to give him custody unless I agreed to all his demands which includes unrestricted access to the children whom he continues to abuse/endanger and neglect. This is a man with a documented history of addiction to male prostitutes, homosexual pornography and pathological lying and manipulation. Yet, because he is is also an extremely wealthy, successful business man, the GAL's, custody evaluator, DCFS, child protective services and judge have all worked together to vindicate him and malign and destroy me.REPORT COMMENTS

I was served paternity, custody, visitation, name change from a multi feloned criminal regarding my then 10 year old from his prison cell! I have raised her on my own for all these years. He threatened to murder me and cut her out of my stomach when he was diagnosed with BPD and anti social traits. He hooked up with an evangelic extremist church and got an attorney. My daughter has witnessed her mother being financially, emotionally destroyed and bullied to the extreme. I am out of money and she is petrified. She was a happy little girl who now is being refered to a suicide prevention counselor. I have had to defend the most vile accusations which have no merit but that's the way our system is. I am having to decide if it is better to take the destruction from her view (give her up) and hope I can pick up the pieces for her and he doesn't hurt or kill her. I don't know. But this is the sickest thing I have witnessed. I am a 20 year business owner (was) and good person who has not a blemish on my child rearing history. SICK SICK!REPORT COMMENTS
