I don't believe it right at all to force a child to visit or have to be within any contact of they're abuser by any means unless they want to! Let our children speak for them selfs, don't force them into torturing them. I know for personal expierence every time I seen my abuser I relive what they did to me. Our children should not live in fear and should be free to live on with they're life's. Childhood is a very short part of life, let them enjoy it without all this hostility.REPORT COMMENTS

I am a trusted mother of a now near 5 year old. From the time my son was 3 till even now, he has confided in me of incidences of sexual and physical abuse by his father. I had a case with CYF opened and closed as "unfounded" because my son did not "disclose" in a 10 min forensic interview at age 3. Because I was in a custody suit (following a PFA filed against father) causing our separation into our custody suit, it has been viewed by the state as my trying to gain leverage in my custody case. My son has recently talked to a trusted friend of the abuse and still the CYF system deems him safe. He exhibits classic abuse signs, sexual knowledge beyond years, anorexic behaviors, and attempts of self-mutilation. Due to legal custodial rights father refuses to allow him to enter therapy. Court ordered 4 therapy sessions which offered no disclosure and as a mother I am saddened and feel I cannot offer the protection my son wants to guarantee what he wants "to be over so nobody else is hurt like him". Father has now manipulated the system again and moved to another state and my son is forced to go weekly to be there against his will. I am pleading for support and wisdom from anywhere!!! I was a victim of child abuse, whom no one believed or helped including school campus police. Then I ended up in an abusive marriage as an adult. After therapy and by the grace of God I left my abuser with my three daughters, now I am ordered to grant custody to my abuser, also by a mediator mentioned in another comment- Tish Reese. My abuser is a con artist to the tee to the point that she defended him during mediation. How can I release my defenseless babies to a man I know for a fact will hurt them? This is wrong in every way. He is only asking for them to avoid paying child support. I am willing to give up the support to protect my children now.REPORT COMMENTS

I was a Sunday school,Presidents Circle award winner,Malcom Baldrige award winner.I married someone who was physically abusive after getting on drugs,by that time I was pregnant,isolated on nature preserve away from anything.I no longer worked ,he turned phone off etc.He never worked I bought all furniture.I gave up everything running barefoot while he had the car running with my child left everything behind.I had broke nose and two black eyes at the time no identification.I could go on but you get the picture.He served no time at 3/injunctions of protection out on him from family members.I also found out he had been sexually abusing her.I moved to other state 15 miles away tried to get our life together in court he failed lie detector test 6 times on sexually abusing her.They took her from me.Long story short he died years later victims then came forward he abused sexually when they were kids some family members.My child was taken away because I supposedly did not bathe her for year,wash her hair for 9 months and was doing drugs I never failed a drug test and his family over 3 years filed 100s of accusations.NY daughter was attending Montessori School and U did not give her a bath why would they not report me???I am now agnostic and can't wait to leave this country.REPORT COMMENTS

I sadly can say this very thing is happening in onondaga county ny. For 4 yrs now I have been "fighting" the same injustice along side of my husband for his 2 children. Ones I love and see as my own. In the beginning of custody it was proven with medical records of sever neglect and abuse from thier mother (noted in medical records of a 4 inch bleeding lesion) The same woman who also potrayed both children being severely disabled. Once in our care all thier "medical problems" disappeared and the 2 "severely disabled" children thrived in a regular school ahead of thier class with no disabilities. As time has gone on there has been two arrest for thier mother endangering them for putting welts up and down ones rib cages and the other a quarter size lump on thier head, along with a CPS case indicated and an order of protection. The children has spoken to several police officers, investigators, therapist, school staff, law guardians, church members, and others all without either of us present. Yet the courts believe that it would be best to put them right back in front of the person who has committed these crimes. They disclose threats made to them by thier mother and statements of on going biting, pinching, and pushing them, not letting them eat sometime and other time making them eat all alone because they want to go home. We even had to have the forensic evaluation done at no cost to thier mother yet all on us after her arrests because yes, alienating. ... because we have tough our children that "hands are not for hitting" and that no matter who is bullying you should tell. And because we have held back from visitation because our oldest has said his mother punched him in the head and he had a lump...the police came took a report and WE had to go back into court and be told that WE HAD to make visitation happen IF we don't custody could be given to the abuser because we alienated her. There is no help in the courts for children who suffer silently because this belief of alienating parents are the focal point and not the abuse that is being done to our children. Is it really so awful that a parent does not want thier children to be abused? And is this request to stop the abuser access to be able to abuse really more of a crime then the abuse being done to children?REPORT COMMENTS

The greatest injustice I've ever known and suffered. Truly horrific for all involved and the suffering just goes on with no ability to heal from it. Shame on the courts allowing the term parental alienation to be thrown around as a defense by the monsters committing these crimes. Children do not lie about this. I googled this question because my children's father is physical and emotionally abusing them. I told both the GALS Tristen key and Cheryl Duffy. He has a violent history even after he gained custody. My kids have told CPS the police domestic violence advocates AND the ER who did an assault eval on them and they all turned it around saying I'm only trying to gain custody and I involve the kids in abusive conflict I'm now on supervised visits until I complete a parenting class and anger management class and am to attend Therepy and for why!? Because I have called CPS on him 6 times in the last 3 years? He has left bruises on my child and tonight she called me to tell me he chiked her until she almost passed out and she thought he was going to kill her. She was puking and gasping for air and coughing after he released her... I don't even know who to tell anymore. Nobody believes me and she won't tell anyone else because nobody believes her either! HOW DO WE GET SOMEONE TO LISTEN!?REPORT COMMENTS

He has been molested during visit, told to lie, keep secrets from mom and therapist, doesn't want to talk , emotionally shutting down. High stress. scared. He tells me his mom and the monitor is "court ordered" how do I as a mother stop my son from being abused. I'm forced to take him or risk losing custody. Accused of parent alienation.
