We definitely need to end the abuse of this system. Women should not be allowed to live off the ex husband and refuse to work themselves.

There needs to be a yearly march to the white house. The child support system is broken and everyone knows it. It will not change unil there is a yearly march. DCSS is a collection agancy, SOME AGENTS are outright abusive. The Courts are the the head of the snake. I belive that the chidren need to be with a healthy sober mother. A child needs a Sober healthy Father. The COURTS need to be firm and FAIR. But that is not the case. And EVERYONE KNOWS IT. I wont change without a yearly march. My daughters mother who used the system to flat out abuse me. False acusations the list is long. She was in a position were she had to pay me child support the took it out of her check. She was not happy. I argued with the court not to do it, amazing as that sounds after what she did to me. But I put my daughter above ALL. Bottom line she was not happy. Men and Women should understand the money flow, where it comes from and how it has to be paid back. Also get edjucated on how many people profit at the EXPENCE OF THE CHILD. The child is the last of most everyone's concern and until you are willing to die for that child that did not ask to be in this SICK SYSTEM. The childs spirit dies. I would plan a march every year. If I had a resource and a better social media knwledge.

It's about time!!!! MEN ARE working and supporting their children more, but yet they are having such a hard time just trying to be a father because MANY of these women out here use support as a way to try to CONTROL our men. I am all for taking care of your children, but BOTH parties need to be responsible. Both parties should be able to provide a shelter with running water, lights, gas and the necessities to live for their children. How are women able to drop the ball and place all the monetary responsibilities with the father, yet, the father is in most cases has a DIFFICULT time being able to just simply be a father to his child(ren). He is NOT the father of to YOU, but to the children!! I support this petition because it's fair and creates the same responsibilities for mothers. Women whom are able to work should work and provide just as much. I am a woman and I watch so many good men go down in flames at the mercy of many of these women due to child support. It's time to be fair and allow our children to understand in the long run both parents have duties. One to be a mother and the other to be a father.

The state of New Mexico child support division needs to reform ..!!! how is it that if you have your child equal time , if one parent makes more money they to pay child support to the other !! My ex who is still my best friend every time she goes to get help any type of benefits food stamps PTC because she's going to college and does not work gets told by the child support division that she should get me for child support and she tells them that I have my son half the time I pay half the bills and he's on my insurance why should she give me for child support it should be equal and they always tell her no you deserve money from him which is stupid what the **** is wrong with this these state entities ..! We also together spoke with the lawyer and agreed that we would do 50-50 where both of us providing equal for our son and the lawyer said the judge will not go for it that the father will still have to pay child support..! the judicial system in this country is so screwed up.! I wish I could move to Canada!! I voted for Trump I support trump and I hope he makes America great again !!!

I think it's personally ridiculous that for one kid a father should have to pay $400-$600 a month for just one kid. Then the mother refuses to let the father see the kid(s). Then on top of that be court ordered to pay for medical stuff when they get it from the state and people that don't work get medical from the state and don't have to pay the state back.

I have my sons EXACTLY 1/2 time and yet I cover all their medical, I do NOT EVER get them as dependents for tax reasons, and I pay my ex $12000 per year. What incentive does she have to get a better paying job? None. I am hand to mouth and have been for the past 6 years. This system is archaic and broke. Please FIX it so I can enjoy some quality of life with my boys!

I'm an Active Duty Service Member stationed in New York. My ex spouse stayed in my (base housing $3599) for a year collected Snap($700), and $1853 in child support a month. I was giving her 72% of my gross annual income and the judge refused my downward modification with what felt like a gender bias. I was living out of my car because I was left with $1000 per paycheck with all the marital bills to pay as well. I had to give up my custody fight because I made too much to have a court appointed attorney, and borrowed $30,000 just to pay for the one I had. I finally cleared my house to get the $3599 back but now owe $9000 in arrears, and $2200 to the IRS because she claimed the children and I had 3 dependents in federal withholding.

Fl Dept of Revenue sent me a suspension notice in December and I went into their office and they said it was a computer gliche that I had paid but the computer did not see it in time and they would clear the license suspension and all was good. In January I bought a used vehicle and when I went to put it in my name they said my license had been suspended and they could not put the vehicle in my name. I went to the DOR and they said the girl that saw me in December did not clear the suspension properly and I had not had a license for several weeks because it had been suspended. They once again cleared the suspension and I am currently waiting in my fifth day after going to clear it up and my license has still not been reinstated. They admitted it was clearly their fault yet I still do not have a license and have missed several days of work. This is an unfair and broken system and clearly there should be something done about it.

I absolutely agree, however I'm a mother wrongfully paying child support. I been paying child support for a while and still haven't seen my son, nor do I have a car and have to have a low income assistance for my apartment. Meanwhile every year my income tax gets taken, half my check gone every pay check and I can't even live properly and still not seeing my son. But the have a house in the suburbs with multiple cars and living it up while I'm suffering in poverty.. Yes they need to look at both parents income because they have a whole shop and I don't think the government know about that income on top of both he and his wife working.

I have my son full placement he doesn't send any nights at his mother's by her choice. I'm still paying support I'm also paying support for the kid she has had with the new guy she is with because she is refusing to go through with the divorce. And he is refusing to stand up and be a father. So I know just how bad this system is. I would have no complaints if I didn't have full placement or if the other kid was mine as well. But I'm now providing for a child that is not mine and a child that lives with me which is making it very hard to make ends meet and take care of my needs at home.

The recipient should also be accountable for the income for the children. I don't see how a new wardrobe for the recipient is benefiting the children when they don't have clothes that fit themselves. Too many times is support spent on the recipient and not the children. The recipient should be required to work at gainful employment. If a child is in school full time there is no reason for the recipient to sit at home and use child support as their income. Support should be based on age as well. Accountability is something that does not exist.

Unfair acts in my case: For years my son's mother has been unemployed. She was not forced or required to appear for work ready programs, provide proof of job searches, or given court orders to appear every few days for status updates. And when employment is established, she has no penalty for failure to update our case about her income. All of these things fall on me. Out of the 6 years I've been on child support, I've been employed 5 years and roughly 7 months. 5 months of unemployment, almost costed me my freedom. Meanwhile my son's mother has been unemployed more than 4 of those 6 years. And when she was employed, she never reported it and I continued to be 100% financially responsible.

Just want to re- that the non custodial parent's obligation should be based off how much support-financial and emotional-he provides his children. I have no problem with strict Garnishments and jail for the deadbeats who want nothing to do with their children but the father that provides a home and everything the mother provides to the children should not have to pay as much or none at all.
