How do we get this reform in place or even get the petition in the hands of law makers? It's sad that father's are being punished financially and are not even allowed to claim the tax deduction. More often than not; child support can cripple the father financially while the mother can use the funds anyway she chooses with no governance to ensure it's for the kids. While there are some deadbeat dads out there; a lot of good fathers are being penalized and are at the mercy of their ex when it comes to the relationships with their children. I totally agree. And the fact some mothers live off it, they should atleast do volunteer work or something since they just want to sit on thier butts and do nothing. This is unfair. I have a daughter and my babies mother is so mean and dont understand i want to physically be with my daughyer not just paying her from a distance. I am treated and hunted down like a criminal ever time I get a job change and miss a payment. I've never had more then 2500 in arrears and have only two times missed a payment. My licences were suspended, bank account put 3000 in the negative and my taxes absorbed. Only to be told the have no record of any of this and no record of me paying of months! This Florida system is totally out of control. I rent a tiny house. She has a massive house and travels around the world for relaxation. I make 30,000 a year she makes six figures. Child support and its enforcement is UNCONSTITUTIONAL and should be abolished at every level to include the lower state courts. All monies that have been extorted from the American family should be immediately returned or used to provide family counseling to support a mandatory 50/50 custody resolution for all parents deemed to be fit and of sound judgement. Any person unwilling to support their children should have to forfeit their 50% custody and should be given the choice to care for the child while the custodial parent works but should also be free from harassment or child support obligations that would further hinder the care of said child. In most cases, there is a Custodial parent & a Non-Custodial parent. Once the courts determines this status and is "agreed" upon all parties involved. It is in the best interest of the child/children to enforce child support & visitation rights. Perhaps, a parental class should be considered for those who have conflicts in communication & understanding the basic fundamentals of what it takes to be a responsible parent, emotionally, mentally, physically, spiritually and yes-financially. Children are not a cheap expense, which is why each state has its own formula to calculate what is a "fair amount to pay" based on the Non-custodials income. The courts are not to blame for our past, it is their duty to ensure that all needs of a child/children lives are met!REPORT COMMENTS

I just want a fair amount to pay, I'm sure if some of these women felt the hardship speaking of GOOD FATHER(S) like myself they wouldn't be happy paying these substantial amounts. I know it took two to create this child, but when it comes to child support I'm getting raked. Everything should be 50/50. Since, this what these women want and come down to which is money to the courts I'm giving her what she asked for. Nothing more, nothing less. In court eyes anything extra is a gift. Which, is sad. So, you didn't want to be cordial, fine. I'll take my every other weekend, and holidays which is sad. I'm giving you what you came here to establish which is a check. A lot, easier if you wouldn't be so greedy. Women, when they take us to child support court its to establish one thing, MONEY. Putting a price tag on a child. I'm speaking for myself a GOOD FATHER, who also pays on time and never been a day late. To the court I'm looked at as a dead beat, and just a baby daddy. i complete agree. My ex wife cheated on me and left the marriage. We have a 5Year old son. She is a teacher with two Master degrees and her new Husband is a director from a company and makes more then 130000dollar a Year. I work as an engenieer. My get paid per hour and now i need to work overtime so that i am able to pay the high requested Childsupport amount. She is not working and i need to pay her now more then 1000dollar per month which is more then 25% from my monthly income with overtime included. I think everything more then 500 dollar is in my case kind alimony, and again she cheated and decided to leave the marriage. There should be a different between the amount childsupport > A women who cheated should just get a min amount , and this amount should be go in an extra account which could be only used for the child. I hope they change soon the existing system and maked it more fair for the father. I use to be married to an absent parent. When we got married, the mother every month started going to child support at the clerk of court to take out papers for child support. At that time, the mother had a friend girl that worked in the clerks office. My ex now, had to go to court every month, like clock work. Because of jealousy intent from the mother. She quit her job, to get more money. She kept going to court telling lies. The court system believedoes her every word. At that, I had to work extra time at work to help keep my husband at that time to keep him from going to court. It was ashamed. I think the child system is a fraud. A joke. They should do away with allots back time support. And start all over with a new system that really is fair and just. I'm a father who has joint legal and joint physical custody of my 5 year old son, raising him alone my 50% of the time since he was 14 months old - i UNJUSTLY pay child support to his mother, who works and makes her own money and also lives in her boyfriend's house. In addition the court has ordered me to pay an additional $700/month for my son's daycare. The mother is ordered to pay $200/month towards the $900 total and she currently has a $3500 unpaid balance - meaning she is NOT using the child support money towards my son's needs as she should be.
