If a mother can't provide a place to stay, then she should not have custody. I have a place to stay then my child has a place to stay and the same should be for the mother of the child. I will have food to eat, so my child will have food to eat and the same should go for the mother. No one should have to pay child support for the time they have the child. Child support should not be raise because the father received a raise. I know there are fathers that will not take care of their child, but there are those of us that will but should still have a a chance to maintain a good living. Child support should not be allowed for rent and utilities. If the mother has custody and can't afford it then she doesn't deserve to have custody. It didn't take child support to make the child so it shouldn't take child support to raise the child. mother's should have to provide receipts that show they literally spent that much on the child.

I agree 1,000,000 Percent because I'm facing child support and I've been taking care of my son since birth and I feel like his mom did it because we separated and I found someone else. But I never once put anyone before my son. I lost my home and now my credit score went down because of back child support and I pray that D. Trump can change it I can't even pay rent because of the amount I have to pay. And it's crazy because my son mom lives with her grandmother and mother she so t pay rent and her car is paid for but me on the other hand I'm struggling living paycheck to paycheck because of this. So if anyone can hear me out there please help me My name is Terrell Harden I recently moved to Georgia after I lost my place in Fort Lauderdale Florida im 26 years old and I need help.

Child support shouldn't even exist relationships are 50/50. I'm a mother of two children impregnated on purpose by a man that abused me. The court didn't support my case he got custody, child support and no punishment for the abuse I suffered. Now he is deemed unfit for his alcoholism but CPS didn't want me to have them so they throw in neglect. It was false allegations but I was afraid they wouldn't hear me out and falsely accuse me and have a felony on my record making it hard for me to pay child support so i helped my ex's mother get custody. Biggest mistake on my part she doesn't like me and has successfully kept me away from my Children for two years going on three now. Unfortunately I have depression over it I talk to God every night. Even have wished God would have kept that nurse at the hospital to busy to see my blood pressure drop and not be revived. I wanted the abuse to stop and I caused get me and the kids out. Sorry if this is morbid but there isn't a day that is good when you wake up everyday wishing you could have been the mom they need and not the absent provider.

The system is an absolute joke, license and passport suspensions, no accountability to show that child support is in fact going to the child, and the only one I know of where you can go to JAIL for a debt. Reform is a must for mothers and fathers who pay child support and owe arrears. Children need both of their parents in their lives, always.

I am a father of a beautiful little girl and soon to be of another beautiful baby girl. I am paying way more out of pocket for my older daughter then the money I am saving for my new born. I know for a fact that what I pay for my older one is not even being used on her. If they must have money then make sure they keep a job and have to show proof of what they use it on. I mean in my eyes if you need help supporting then give the rights to the other parent! I know I can fully support my daughters on my own!

I must say it was hard tryingbto get a job when child support suppends your license, passports, etc and among that living in a area where there is no bus. One job would not hire me because child support ruin my credit too. With all the check stacked against me I was at a time of commiting sucide.. When I saw my child it was not good it was like I being punished for giving him life...

Most child support cases are from a vindictive mother trying to get at her baby father or a broke females way of getting some kind of free money! Child support should be the father being court ordered to buy the kid what they need not giving the mother the money!

Child support is for the child, not the parent. The obviuos bias against even good men, and the ease with which some women manipulate the system as a personal tool of vengeance, is immoral and detrimental to society's well being.

Some mothers just put the fathers on child support just because the relationship between the two of them didn't work. Not because they need the support!!!! Children need two parents in there life. Especially a little boy. IT TAKES A MAN TO TEACH A MAN HOW TO BE A MAN!!!!

His mother just text him the other day talking about how both parents are absent from the kids life.he told his mother you got me paying child support and you raising my kids. He don't mind paying child support but like he told his mother his hard earn money should be going to her and not their sorry mom...when he went in front of the judge he tried to explain this to the judge and they pretty much didn't want to hear nothing he had to say...the system is so backwards. Please reform, it's not fair

Missouri child support laws are BS. I never knew of my kid and after he was almost one I found out about him. I requested a DNA test and they put me on child support. I was unemployed at the time due to an accident and now I'm behind on child support. The judge and her attorney told me that I could find another $18 hr job like I had before. My body is different I damaged my spine so I can't work as much as I was before. They have no remorse. They did a full on investigation about my income but only asked her directly about hers. She lied about her paying high daycare fees and also about how much she was making at her job. The need to do full investigations on both parties before they issue a child support order. I make $10 she makes almost 20 and I pay $455 a month in child support

I'm currently dealing with kids mother who will not allow me to have my kids during the summer months. I always pay my child support and have a great history with my kids and want them more. I currently get them every other weekend. I'm a great father to my kids and I have no extra money to fight her in the courtroom. The current system is beyond terrible and I'm hoping something changes soon.

please reform this is bias and not fair to the child who has a loving father and a deadbeat mother who just uses children as a source of income . It has cost me over 2,000 at this point to see my son every other weekend and 2 hrs midweek. and i would guess im looking at another 2-4 grand in legal fees just to establish my equal rights as a father . No gurantee on equal parenting rights even after all the $ forked out. Its a broken system and needs to be re written

I asked child support personnel why is it that they don't review how much money the sisters and there husband make all they told me was there doing me a favor by taking care of them. I can't even file taxes because there claiming them so I'm stuck not only paying way too much but I'm getting screwed by irs for making 60,000 plus a year and not having dependents. I love my kids and it's not fair for me to struggle harder not seeing them but paying all this money.

I have to work double to take care of our family that includes a son of our own. All the while his ex put him on child support to get government assistance. I work and have my son on private insurance and this woman has never worked a day in her life. Left my husband for another man and took their son. And recently did it to her current husband. She has 3 kids by 3 different men. How is this fair?

Child Support System Declared Unconstitutional Minnesota Supreme Court upholds ruling In 1975, Congress passed a law which included a last minute amendment to create the Office of Child Support Enforcement (OCSE). When signing the bill, then President Ford commented that it took the federal government too far into domestic relations and promised to propose legislation to correct the problem. Over the decade that followed, it became clear that OCSE intended to grow in size and power to control all aspects of child support law, seizing that power from the state courts. The size of the OCSE grew, this decade acquiring a staff in excess of 50,000 and costing taxpayers some $3 billion annually. Child support laws were modified, so that simple mathematical formulae are used to make award decisions. This new simplicity is required due to the low level of education of workers who are assigned as "judges" in child support cases. Extreme consequences defined by new federal laws, often carried out automatically and without trial, give the child support enforcement agency power over tens of millions of individuals that surpasses anything previously seen in the United States. After almost 25 years since its start, judges in Minnesota finally felt that they had seen enough. In June of last year, the Court of Appeals decided that the administrative branch of government had exceeded its constitutional powers. "The administrative child support process governed by Minn. Stat. 518.5511 (1996) is unconstitutional because it violates the separation of powers required by Minn. Const. art. III, 1." (STATE OF MINNESOTA IN COURT OF APPEALS C7-97-926 C8-97-1132 C7-97-1512 C8-98-33, Filed June 12, 1998; http://www.courts.state.mn.us/library/archive/ctappub/9806/c797926.htm) The Minnesota Supreme Court upheld the decision in January of this year. "The administrative child support process created by Minn. Stat. 518.5511 (1996) violates the separation of powers doctrine by infringing on the district court's original jurisdiction, by creating a tribunal which is not inferior to the district court, and by permitting child support officers to practice law. Therefore, the statute is unconstitutional." (STATE OF MINNESOTA IN SUPREME COURT C7-97-926 C8-97-1132 C9-98-33 C7-97-1512, Filed: January 28, 1999, Office of Appellate Courts; http://www.courts.state.mn.us/library/archive/supct/9901/c797926.htm)

I am a woman and completely agree with this. It is completely unfair that good fathers are only awarded partial custody and have to pay astronomical amounts of money to someone who barely works. Other factors should apply in considering the amount needed for the child/children such as the above stated.
