All for reform. When a case is presented where both parents are there stating the child gets equal time with and equal support from both parents, the court shouldnt be able to acknowledge that and then twist the numbers to create an financial imbalance that would necessitate a support order. The dead beats that do exist and the hateful assumptions of the courts are creating a culture where every defendent is punished as though they couldnt be bothered to even look at their child, let alone take responsibility. I love my daughter more than anything. I was the first to hold her, first to see her open her eyes and for half of every week I am the first and last thing she sees each day. I have never let her go wanting, whether she was here or at her moms. Both of us are determined to keep the peace because we both know the damage that a child can go through when that doesnt happen after a split. But the courts will never hear any of that. At my hearing, I was told in no uncertain terms that me speaking "wasnt necessary" and "all we want are the numbers" by the JUDGE. Reform is needed, and hateful attorneys and judges need to be the first to go.REPORT COMMENTS

I would love to see this happen for us good fathers, the mother of my children makes 3,000 every two weeks at her job selling security systems, her husband does the same thing and makes just as much if not more. He gets child's support on his daughter. My children's mother get support from me! They are abusing the system and the system don't even look at their income. This isn't fair. I struggle living pay check to paycheck and I have a very good job, I can't even go see my children cause 1. They live 8 hours from me and 2. I don't have the money. The child's support law should be reformed in such cases as mine, I have never had my kids for a Father's Day I don't get them every other Christmas or thanksgiving like I'm suppose to, I maybe get them every two years for two weeks in a summer when she's not playing god with them. they also make is so the harder you work to make even a little bit of money they end up taking more out anyways. they include all overtime and bonus pay. then my child support goes up and if i dont make the exact same overtime and bonus pay for the following years im even further in debt than i was before working. so working harder never pays off. its better to work a part time job and pay $50 a week and live off assistance myself. my ex doesnt have to transport, support, or insure my children. she just gets to sit at home and live off of my money while i have to work so hard just to pay basic bills that i can barely have time to even see my kids during my visitation time which is every other weekend and a 60 minutes drive one way out of my own pocket. just to bring them to my house for 2 days and pay a sitter again out of my own pocket because if i dont go to work i fall behind and go to jail.REPORT COMMENTS

I disagree with the premise of this petition. If TRUE joint custody existed, then child support would not exist. The child should spend half of the time with each parent and "Visitation" (A REAL NASTY CLICHE WORD) should not exist at all. Unfortunately, the corrupt mental health community has given us all FAKE NEWS in that a TRUE JOINT CUSTODY situation is bad for the child. Having both parents in the child's life is the best thing. The system has created different rules in all 50 States. Don't fool yourselves, this is by design. All of these different rules mean that a person in California can't give advice to a person in Georgia, etc. Another thing that the system has done is create a situation where there is no legal relationship between Visitation and Child Support. The system acts like it is doing the child support payer a favor of some sort. In actuality it is creating a scenario where you cannot stop paying child support even if the other so called "parent" doesn't allow you to see your child. Think about this carefully. If you stop paying so called "child" support, it is a CRIMINAL ACT even if you can't find a job. You can tell it to the unfair judge who took your child away from you. Where do you think that is going to get you? Do you think that the judge is going to suddenly become empathetic towards you after he ripped your child away from you through the use of force? Meanwhile, if the other so called parent decides to not let you see your child it is simply a CIVIL matter. How can you possibly pay an attorney to do anything about it when you are busy paying child support? If you do manage to hire an attorney, the corrupt judge that kidnapped your child from you is going to act the same way that they did in the first place. Have no illusions! Many States already perform calculations based upon most of the elements here. This petition does not go nearly far enough in addressing the REAL FUNDAMENTAL ISSUES AT HAND, but since I didn't create my own petition I'll go ahead and support it. Thank you.REPORT COMMENTS

All parents whom recieve child support who dont work may not be able to work due to a disability or may be retired so suggested item 5 needs some work. Item four also needs some work both parents should be obligated for drug testing not just one. Just because you pay child support doesnt make it okay for you to be a drug addict. If going to court is a result of a parent not taking care of there responsibilities are not at taking care of thier responsibility then that dead beat parent needs to foot the bill unless reason for non payment is due to extreme circumstances. All parents whom owe child support of 3,000 dollars or more should be listed with IRS for a tax return hold, until the situation can be resolved with the courts. Child Support needs more federal backing, all state child support agency's do not communicate well with others allowing the payee to go years without being located and an outrageous amount of child support debt left for them to pay. Medicaid fees are not being properly deducted from child support payments, helping to create a deficit to our medicaid program. All double digit thousand child support amounts need to be mandated and enforced to be on credit reports. All child support payments in the monthly amount of 500 dollars or more monthly need to have a usage of support form every three months to indicate the use of those funds and provide proof of high ticket items. Why recieve high dollar child support if its not being used on the child. For all child whom are receiving social security checks regardless of reason but are not recieving child support that is rightfully due to them, thier cases need to be listed urgent. Veterans Affairs should be mandated to give any information needed to state child support agencies whom are attempting to enforce child support non payment for applicable individuals. Prior to all child support enforcement and monthly amount being set mandated parental testing needs to be enforced unless parent willingly has signed birth certificate. Interest fees needs to child support need to able to be inforced at the rate and by the state that is enforceing child support regarless of the state in which divorce has been filed and approved. Child Support offices are very undermanned in most states causing a back log and difficulty processing claims in a timely and efficient manner. All those going to college for social work degrees or degrees applicable for work in the department of human resources should be reuired as part of curriculum to recieve hands on training within human resources. This gives future workers hands on experience and helps our social workers get this backlog cleared up.REPORT COMMENTS

I don't understand how can I make around $6,000 a month and my ex-wife make around $5,000 a month and I still have to pay over $900 a month and she is active duty. My son's before and after care is only $464 a month. I also have to pay $835 a month to my previous child and her mother is a Nurse not a CNA! My daughter isn't even in any type of before and after care and never was. Why I'm I stuck with all the marital debt and my ex-wife gets to get off free?! Explain to me why I have to work two jobs just to pay child support and the mothers get to save all the money they want and use the DEBT that I'm paying which is in fact child support to do with as they please? If it cost around $10,000 a year in Maryland and Texas based off of these guidelines created by the government, why can't this be split? I guess I am suppose to live under a rock and not pay for my own place to live as well as utilities and all pay for all the fun things I wish I could do with my kids but I can't because I'm fighting to not go to jail! All so-called yearly requirements to raise a child should be split equally, its that simple. Women receiving child support should be required to have some type of gainful employment. Women receiving child support should be subject to an audit ( just like a health care spending account ) and be required to show documentation and receipts as to where the money they receive is going ....I have seen many women bettering their own life and not their child using the fathers money. Women have the right to keep a baby, abort a baby or put a baby up for adoption. Men have 1 right - to foot the bill or go to jail - and that is wrong. I told the Worcester Court what she threatened me that I would loose my son. I have visitation rights..I use to go to court telling them she voided my visitation...her and her lawyer a ex court register put a motion so now I have to ask to file cause of the amount of times I took her back cause I missed my weekend with my son.Now keeping that in mind I repeatedly told the Court. I also told them she will not share the child from her past.. I helped raising her older son not mine for 12 years... That boy doesn't know his father do to a lie.. She was in the Military boat camp got pregnant and said she was raped...no Joke...She received $65,000 and never to talk about it...There is no name on the birth certificate.. I only brought this up in Court cause she got away with it.. Her threat to me that I would not know my son I took hey seriously but the Court didn't... Even when I submitted a written diary confession I found in my home on a not book....This women went to college for free got food free all from a lie...She knew how to play the system. Like I said I took her threat very serious.. My boy was 7 at the time...I payed my support... I was making $15 an hour at the time and was left with $180. A week not enough to pay for my needs and supply my own place so I could have an apartment so my son could be with me..I couldn't afford a car or insurance to pick up my son.. So people would have to pick him up for me...Then I was to have my first Xmas weekend with my Son.. At that time she wanted him...So she went to a different Court I Taunton Mass and put a false restraining order on me. At that time She didn't check off the info on the back asking if there was a visitation agreement in affect.. So I went back to Worcester telling them what she did..weeks and weeks went by...The Court did nothing.. She and her lawyer played everything on me...My Son and I lost..I knew there was more to come of missing time..over and over she got away with it...every time took 6 weeks to get into Court.. Having to take two working days off every time to file. Still nothing changed..I had no help to travel back and fourth...making $180. a week then having to spend $50. for Court fees crushed me...I tried I tried hard...My son was my world...I lost him her voiding me happened and no body cared..I lost everything in my life my Son Cory Ross... He was brain washed thinking and told I didn't want to see him.. Then they up Child support to pay for health care a $100 a week more...There was days and still days I can't afford to eat food..I work as a roofer he's now 19 and I would to know if he's going to school full time college if not I was told child support could be dropped.. I can't even miss a day cause I won't be able to eat...Life should be like this I'm broke , don't know my Son and interest is adding up...nobody will help...I can't afford a lawyer can't get help for food stamps cause they go by my total income and say I make to much.. Really its so sad. I'm ready to just end it as I'm told I have pay till he's 23 a man and I don't know him..Two weeks ago I texted her my ex. She stated ha ha ha I ditched you for 12 years and I won...I find out she's on Disability and gets $1400. A month free apartment and food plus my child support... If anybody reads this things need to change its rotten I don't know my son cause of Lawyers and judges that rub each others backs...Does the child or father matter..... We'll back in March 2013 I was sent to the county jail and prison and sentence to serve 5yrs bid and I had gotten put on child support and while serving that time I never knew that I was on child support or being charged the whole time until I got out . Which my daughter mother doesn't get any benefits because she makes to much at her current job. I pay for Medical insurance for my daughter at my job. I got married while in prison and the only reason I can say why my daughter mother put me on child support is because of me and her pass relationship. Because right today she' always has an attitude towards me. I never got a visit while I was incarcerated I never get to visit my daughter or nothing I truly don't deserve this.
