Side effects are horrific and continue despite Lupron wearing off months earlier. My Doctors minimized the side effects and ignored my complaints about chronic joint paint, forgetfulness, irritability, hot flashes and night sweats, all highly undesirable and life-altering symptoms.Oct 12th, 2014Someone from Orange, CT signed.

Suffering unnecessarily is completely unacceptable. Vision change & forgetfulness are just a few major negative side affects. Shame on my OB/GYN Dr. Moss in Denver!!REPORT COMMENTS

I am going through breast cancer treatment & lack he enzyme to process Tamoxifen. The other cancer drugs only work on post menopausal women so my oncologist "pushed" me into menopause by monthly lupron injections. I was suppose to do 6 months but demanded he stop after 4 months due to severe hot flashes (over 100 per day). Nausea, bone pain & lack of sleep still plague me. I literally have not slept more than an hour at one time for over a year. Usually only 15-30 minutes at a time. I gained 30lbs in less than 2 months!!! I could go on & on but wanted to submit my complaint. I am very concerned about my future & ability to get back to work.REPORT COMMENTS

More than a decade after going through two six-month courses of Lupron, I still have joint pain. If the drug had worked to cure or even lessen my endometriosis and fibroids, I might be willing to accept it, but it did not, and my doctors continued to perform multiple surgeries until I was "old enough" and "married enough" for them to perform the hysterectomy that solved my problems. This drug is too easy to prescribe, and I have heard too many stories of women who have shared my experience. It is mind-boggling to me that it is still prescribed in this manner. It is flat-out dangerous. It clearly does more harm than good. Please don't let more women be subject to this reckless "therapy."REPORT COMMENTS

It's been a little over a month since my first shot. My doctor gave it to me for polycystic overarian syndrome (PCOS) I've missed 16 days of work so far. I'm in constant pain all the time now. I started this to stop the pain. My doctor said I wouldn't feel any pain any more and I would basically go into pre menopause including hot flashes. Not only do I have hot flashes ( at least 3 in a hour) night sweats so bad I can't sleep. I have to have 2 fans on me with ice packs.I'm so fatigued to the point I'm taking these vitamins: 4 b12, 4 b, 4 c, 4 d, and 4 folic acid. Even with taking those I'm still so fatigued. I can't get out of bed some days. I now have dry irritated rashes on my elbows, forearm, and leg. No matter how much lotion I use it will not go away. I've stopped taking this drug. I hope the FDA looks into this drug no one should have to go through this pain. I wish someone had warned me.REPORT COMMENTS

Lupron has ruined my life over 13 yrs now. This drug is pure poison. The side effects over time DO NOT GET BETTER, THEY GET WORSE!! One thing that has always stumped me is, if Lupron is a chemo like drug then why has Endo not been labeled Cancer?? Endometriosis suffer's beat the number of woman with Breast Cancer by quite a bit, I cannot understand why we aren't farther along with diagnosis for this. I guess if men suffered from Endo, fibroids, we would have had a cure decades ago!!REPORT COMMENTS

Lupron destroyed my health and my life. Before Lupron 1. Danced 16 hours a week. 2. Ran 3 miles a day 3. Played racket ball 4. Wrestled with everyone and would win as a 5?1? 130 lb. female. 5. Participated in track and cross county 6. Competed in Ballroom and County dance competitions. After Lupron 1. Gained 47lb in 6 months 2. Completely reshaping my body 3. Black hair were no women would want it 4. Horrible uncontrollable sweats. 5. Sever lower back pain I have now battled with little answers since 1997 6. I have been told fibromyalgia 7. I have horrible, severe chronic body pain that in order to control keeps me to a very strict diet not allowing for any foods that are ?inflammatory foods?. 8. Can?t walk more than a block without first limping and then dragging my left leg. 9. Sometimes getting severe pain shoot out of my lower back down my left buttock when stepping down on my left foot 10. Can?t hold a job without major pain management 11. Daily life takes regular pain management 12. I can?t play with my girls, enjoy outings with them; just going to the park is a major function due to lower back pain. To top it off the Endometriosis came back!! Please do something about this horrible drug that has destroyed so may live!REPORT COMMENTS

Doctors take an oath to do no harm, right? Obviously kickbacks providing financial gains to doctors is a tragic act against their patients who they prescribed this terrible drug to. Take this drug off the market.REPORT COMMENTS

This drug has caused so many more complications in my life... after it caused my heart to stop twice. I was never informed of any side effects other than hot flashes. Never saw any packaging, just a syringe. I was also told that the effects would stop completely after 3 months. It's been 2 years & I'm still suffering.REPORT COMMENTS

I was given Lupron for 2 1/2 years! I was told only that I would get side effects of hot flashes and menopause symptoms. But it has ruined my life! Constant fatigue, bone loss, hair loss, organ damage, thyroid and adrenal issues, and these problems continue even 10 years after I have been off of it!! Lupron needs to be taken off the market!!!REPORT COMMENTS

In 1994 my daughter was diagnosed with precocious puberty at 9 months old. Yes 9 MONTHS old. Her doctor put her on Lupron injections once a month then after about 6 months of treatment she developed soreness at the injection site and her prescription was changed to subcutaneous injections daily to be administered by myself. I injected my daughter daily with this poison for 9 years. Yes 9 YEARS. I was told by her doctor to give her the medication until she turns 10 years old and will be ready for the normal age of puberty. I was also told that there were no known long term side affects. My daughter is now 20 years old and has suffered from pain and soreness in her neck, back, hips, arms, wrists, hands, fingers, legs, ankles, and feet. She suffers from fear, anxiety, depression, and has self harmed. There are days that she cannot get out of bed and times when her fear, depression and anxiety are so out of control that she sleeps all day and stays up all night. Doesn't seem as if any doctors understand or care what she has gone through and all the psychiatrists want to do is prescribe her more medications. She refused to take the anti-depressants as she fears that the side effects of those medications may cause suicidal thoughts or actions and she is not willing to take that chance. She has been denied SSI/Disability, has no job... She cannot sit or stand for very long. The worst part of this is "I" injected this in her and I have no way to help her. LUPRON needs to be taken off the market NOW!!!!REPORT COMMENTS

After doing four months of lupron my hips hurt every minute. The pain wakes me up from simply laying down. Walking has become a huge task. I am 29 years old, living with endo is hard enough yet we are given hope from our doctors about lupron. Nobody says you may become worse. Your bones may hurt, when they do we are not understood because our doctors seem to think lupron will help. It helps with your period yet adds more pain that becomes horrible to bare. My life has come to just surviving. No energy, untouchable pain, then told nobody knows what to do for you. This drug needs to be either studied FULLY or pulled from the market!!!!! This is ruining lives!!REPORT COMMENTS

I had 9 lupron injections in '98-'99 for Endometriosis. I am now 35 years old...and no longer a strong, athletic, able-bodied military woman. I now am disabled. I have Endometriosis, Fibromyalgia, Arthritis, Bursitis, memory issues, seizures, migraines, tachycardia, anxiety, depression, PTSD, insomnia, IBS, Intercystal Cystitis... With the exception of the PTSD...could they all be traced back to the Endometriosis and it's treatment, the Depo Lupron? Yikes This is no way to live...every day in pain...never at a "0" on the doctors pain scale...each day reaching at the minimum a 7 or higher...living in fear and anxiety, forever trying to measure out your energy level between the chores you must accomplish and hoping there's something left over in the end for your child...much less for yourself :( (usually, there's not) Please, find out what the real consequences of this drug are...then perhaps, if you could, find a way to reverse some of these side effects? I would love to find my life at a pain tolerable level again :/REPORT COMMENTS

I tried Lupron for 3 months after surgery didn't have lasting results. I knew there could be side effects, but I had no idea that it could actually make the endometriosis worse. I had the worst pelvic pain of my life. It felt like I was being ripped open. I could barely get out of the fetal position. It was much more intense than anything I expectedREPORT COMMENTS

2 injections of 3m, 11.25. DID NOT HELP AT ALL. I bled almost the entire time, lost hair, hot flashes/night sweats, gained weight, joint pain, and possibly cracked a bone in my left thumb. I had all the side effects with NO symptom relief. Making this disease even more unbearable. My endo continued to spread revealed by a lap done just after completing 6m of Lupron. I DO NOT recommend the use of this harmful drug for treating Endometeiosis, at all!REPORT COMMENTS
