As a woman with endometriosis who underwent fertility treatments with Lupron and have now undergone a hysterectomy I feel here is a dire need for more research into women's reproductive health! It's shameful how little is known and available for help: no known causes, cures or even therapies.Oct 22nd, 2014Someone from Beverly Hills, CA signed.

I was given three six-month courses of Lupron to help shrink and prevent the growth of endometriosis at the insistence of my OB. I have many of the side effects listed in the petition, but the worst and most debilitating is the joint pain; this poison needs to be completely taken off the market!!!REPORT COMMENTS

I suffered for many years before finding out I had stage 3 endometriosis. My doctor told me lupron was the only way to go. I was warned about pre menopause symptoms. Never told about all the other long term effects. Even given a pamplet, which also did not state the extreme effects from lupron. I did a total of 8 injections. After the first 4 injections, I gained 30lbs in less than a month. My health has went down hill ever since. I'm only 28 and feel like its ruined my life, and still is. Lupron was the worst thing I ever did. I want people to know the truth and have this death shot to stop being used.REPORT COMMENTS

I've used Lupron for both Endometriosis and Infertility... Im currently undergoing IVF for the third time (last 2 failed), which includes daily injections. As if infertility isn't enough to be depressed and anxious about, to be taking a drug with those kind of side effects makes me wonder how IVF could be successful. Also, I wonder if the children conceived via IVF (like my nephew) would possibly suffer from the side effects. Pharmaceutical companies have giant pockets... They need to be more diligent in their research and clinical trials There is no excuse for medications having death as a side effect. What's the point of having the FDA?REPORT COMMENTS

After two shots I was suffering from horrible night sweats, anxiety and sleep deprived. My doctor told me to take Benadryl - which only worsened my anxiety which I had never had before. Then they wanted me to keep taking Benadryl to sleep and then take Lexapro to help with anxiety - NO WAY! Drugs and more drugs with worsening side effects?! I reluctantly took a third shot in hopes my endo pain would go away and just suffering through the side effects which are way worse than the endo pain. I cannot keep going though and now I'm reading that even if I never get another shot, I might be permanently stuck with anxiety and hot flashes?! This is just crazy and feel like such a fool to have taken 3 of these shots.REPORT COMMENTS

They have drugs on the market to keep a man's testosterone high, because they see the benefits of it on the mind, body, and overall health, so why is Lupron on the market? When I took Lupron I developed Conjunctivitis, sleeplessness, headahces, NO sex drive, imbalanced hormones, weight gain, severely dry skin, night sweats, confusion, lack of creativity and focus, low energy, and joint pain. The most startling issue was my mind felt like it went back to my pre-teen years. When I watched TV and saw people kissing, because I had no sex drive it felt strange and uncomfortable like I was suddenly a kid that thought it was gross. I've been off Lupron for over a year and I will never be the same. My sex drive has never returned, my eyes are still painfully dry, and I still have joint pains.REPORT COMMENTS

I had gone in on June 20th 2014 for an evaluation of my fibroid. I saw Dr. Larry R. Hess at the Kaiser Woodland Hills Medical Center OBGYN Department. This being my first time seeing this doctor, I simply wanted to discuss my options regarding my fibroid. I mentioned to Dr. Hess what were the possibilities of me getting pregnant, if I wanted to have children. He said I had zero chance of getting pregnant and even if I went through IVF, In Vitro Fertilization, he said the baby would not be mine. I found this extremely disconcerting. We discussed having a hysterectomy and he proceeded to check me without a nurse in the room. He then proceeded to hand me a mirror and told me to say yes or no, I am not sure what type of physiological approach Dr. Hess had in mind but only to then quickly tell me his nurse could administer a shot in which the fibroid would shrink. I made myself very clear and told Dr. Hess I was extremely sensitive to medications to be exact, I said I am not a good one for medications. All I remember is his nurse administering a shot. I was not given the name of the medication nor given any information such as side effect regarding the shot. Later to find out on my own the shot was Leuprolide/Lupron. Shortly thereafter I started experiencing the most horrific side effects. I had crying spells that lasted 2 weeks and the worst migraines anyone could ever imagine. I stated having allergies and sinus problems, my right eye felt droopy and intense pain in my head that lasted for weeks. I then broke out on both hands with a horrible rash both palms were raw. I did go to urgent care and they told me it was eczema. Feeling as though I was walking on a fine wire and at the same time could not keep my eyes open from feeling complete exhaustion. The scariest part is when I stated having severe chest pains and found it very difficult to breathe. I was wheezing and my upper chest was so tight I could not take a full breath. I was never told that I would immediately go into menopause and that my ovaries would stop producing estrogen. I stopped getting my period and have gained weight as a result of this. Prior to this shot I was a healthy and active person, a marathon runner? I did email Dr. Hess regarding the side effects and his response was that he left some things out and to come back in so he could regain my trust he said by then I should be off the roller coaster. I am still not back to normal and am fearful of when these side effects will go away. I still have not gotten my period back. I am experiencing a lot of aches and joint pains especially in the hands/fingers, which I never had prior to the Lupron shot. I am very worried as I know Lupon causes Osteoporosis by the early onset of menopause. This Lupron is poison and it is my understanding that doctors get kickbacks from administering it.REPORT COMMENTS

I am at 6 months from my 3 month injection and still have hot flashes, insomnia, and nausea. Even though it helped tremendously to reduce the size of the uterus and fibroid and my surgery was beyond a success, the side affects to Lupron have been the hardest to overcome. It was worth taking Lupron to assure a positive, easy outcome from surgery. I just want to know when will these side affects go away.REPORT COMMENTS
