I have had chronic pain since 8 years of age due to a serious illness. Several times I could have been on SSD but I fought very hard through very difficult time. I caught up with one of the doctors that didn't believe me 26 years later. He finally believed me and told me I was finished working. I went back to work for another 13 years. I am now on SSD after a slip and fall; which I ended up with a very severe case of Fibromyalgia and a list of other things that tend to go with this ailment. Taking away drugs and making doctors afraid of treating people like me and many other like me. Please stop making the doctors afraid to treat us. Without my medication --- I would be either in the nut house or committing suicide to get out of the severity of the pain. Sincerely Lavinia DonohueAug 22nd, 2013Someone from Cranston, RI signed.

Tennessee is a state where there is extreme difficulty in treating pain patients...I canoot find any help since I moved here from Illinois where I was successfully treated for the last 10 years. This is an archaic state. Shame on those so called healthcare professionals that refuse to treat legitimate pain issues.REPORT COMMENTS

This is only the tip of the iceberg for chronic pain sufferers. Add the problems of denied procedures by insurance concerns; procedures that would allow these patients to lessen their need for schedule II drugs, and you have real issues.REPORT COMMENTS

Some people have chronic pain from injuries. Taking medications that help alleviate pain is the only way that these people can continue to work and have fairly normal lives. Would we rather have people suffer from debilitating pain and exist on "disability" payments? Ridiculous!REPORT COMMENTS

I can't take most NSAIDs. I rarely need pain control despite chronic illness, but I have friends far sicker than I am, who need effective pain control. In many cases, narcotics are not even the right pain control meds, but pain research cannot be done for diseases such as fibromyalgia, chronic reflexive pain, etc. if doctors are afraid to treat them due to drug control laws.REPORT COMMENTS

As someone who deals with chronic migraines, fibromyalgia, and arthritis. I suffer due to the incompetence of those who don't truly care about their patience. And that is NOT MY FAULT! Nor should I suffer due to them.REPORT COMMENTS

Having Chronic Pain is NOT something we should be ashamed of. And some Drs do this. Chronic pain is different for every single person. Let's stand together to make sure that we can all be treated fairly, and how our pain dictates!REPORT COMMENTS

This is absolutely ridiculous, there are so many people out there like myself who are not supposed to use anti-imflammatory due to medical issues. You have a Dr. tell you do not take them ever then another Dr. says oh you are an addict. They need to make up their minds and just actually take care of their patients!!REPORT COMMENTS

I am traumatized from the suffering caused by my intense chronic pain conditions. Everything in this letter is true. I can't get medication for my pain, even at a pain clinic. Every day is a nightmare for me...pain, lack of sleep, anxiety. Please help. I'm losing the will to go on and am bedridden. I have no quality of life. I feel like a prisoner in my own body. Would you deny a diabetic their insulin? It is so hard to go day after day with no break from this level of pain. I am very afraid.REPORT COMMENTS
