I don't need the pain meds but I have a step mother & daughter that go through all of this so I'm signing this petition. Their pain is unbearable all too often. How long do people have to continue suffering? Hope signing the petition helps! -

I am fortunate enough not to have had issues (so far) w/either my doctors or my pharmacy. There are days I cannot even roll over in bed w/o medication. I cannot imagine being given a hard time trying to get the very pills that allow me to be just a barely functioning member of my family due to my pain.REPORT COMMENTS

I am still working, with the help of prescribed pain meds. Without these meds I would be forced to give up being productive.REPORT COMMENTS

We need help from our drs for our pain, not judgment or cruel treatment. Doctors need to start believing their patients, listening to their cries, and their pleas. I am in constant pain due to IC and other sister ailments. My life has regressed so much to the point where I don't see the point in living. I didn't ask for this, nor is this the life I thought I would have, but im trying to work with it and find relief. Trying to find a dr was miserable, I've been treated so horribly from some doctors saying I'm making it up, it's all in my head or that I'm completely healthy and I can't help you when you are healthy. Well once I actually found a dr who believed me, my results revealed one very unhealthy person. I have to be my own advocate, because no one else will. I've been on pain meds for 2 full years, and I still feel ashamed every time I refill my prescription. Even the pharmacist gives me the ninth degree. It's such a shame, if I didn't have this medicine, I wouldn't have made it this long. Chronic pain has completely reduced me to my couch or bed, when I used to work two jobs one being a caregiver to senior citizens. I know that pain is going to make my life harder, but it would be nice to have the doctors on our side versus fighting with us tooth and nail, judging us the entire way and assuming you are a pill seeker. Personally I can't stand my pills, i am so sensitive to meds, they are the bane of my existence. But I need them to exist with this pain filled body of mine. Please stop making it more difficult for the people who really need these meds. It's hard enough living.REPORT COMMENTS

I have been in chronic pain for a little over 2yrs.with 5 surgeries in those 2 yrs. Because of my deteriorating condition, I will never be pain free. My prescribed pain meds are necessary to keep me mobile. I have faced the discrimination and scorn from pharmacists and others and I am NOT an addict. I just someone struggling to live life as normally as possible. Go after the drug addicts, and stop them. But please don't punish those of us in chronic pain that rely on these medications to get through our days...REPORT COMMENTS

I've suffered from an incurable chronic pain disease (trigeminal neuropathic pain) and as the pain increases, the medical assistance does not. Specifically due to fear of the DEA. A drug (non-narcotic) usually prescribed for my condition is no longer available to me because of DEA pressure on my doctor. This situation is out of control. Doctors should be able to prescribe; pharmacists fill prescriptions; the FDA approve or deny pharmaceuticals. Time for the DEA to fade away and use that budget for better purposes.REPORT COMMENTS

You find the right Dr and over the years he has come up with the right combination that makes your pain bearable. Then insurance comes in and says you can't use that medication anymore and what they approve causes reflux and the reflux medicine they allow you to use doesn't work. And now the government is going to have their veto. They might as well ship all that suffer with chronic pain off to an isolated Island and forget about us.REPORT COMMENTS
