END DAYLIGHT SAVINGS TIME

Messages Sent So Far
Please stop the messing with our schedules. It's an antiquated practice that only aggravates people. As it is Arizona, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, Guam, the Virgin Islands, and America Samoa do not participate in this practice.

It is disruptive to children's sleep and totally unnecessary.

There’s no real relevance in daylight savings time anymore. Just put an end to it there’s no point in it.

Please pass a bill to end daylight saving time in the United States. It is a pointless practice, no, it does not create more daylight during the day, it just makes everybody go to bed an hour earlier and wake up an hour earlier, and it disrupts people's sleeping patterns and we all lose an hour of sleep. It's not worth doing it. It makes no sense to do it.

Please consider repealing daylight savings time. I realize that this request may seem trivial in comparison to many other issues that must be addressed by the government, but it really is not trivial at all. Twice every year, most people in the United States are required to drastically alter their schedules of sleeping and waking. This practice is negative for both emotional and physical health. I have two young children and the process of having to reset their sleeping patterns twice a year is damaging and frustrating. It makes it difficult for them to function well in school and to go to sleep at a reasonable time each night. It seems like once we get into a solid routine of sleeping and waking, we just have to change it again. Please consider repealing this outdated practice and allowing Americans to set their schedules to best fit their own personal needs. Thank you.

Not only did I lose an hour of sleep explicitly...but because the population is scrambling around to make up for lost time...it has been the noisiest morning ever around my condo! So hot me down for 3 hours of lost sleep and extreme irritability!

DST is stupid. What’s the actual point of it? It just makes work and school worse by waking up one hour earlier.

DST does nothing to save energy but it does a lot for car wrecks and makes me feel off for 8 months out of the year.

I prefer standard time. The days will get longer no matter what we do to artificially alter time even more. Stick with standard time. No more DST. Once the clocks are changed one last time in October 2018, change them no more after that!

I hate this practice. It messes me up for weeks after each switch twice a year. I'm sure it affects business production and everyone I know hates it too.

It was one thing when there was only one clock and a watch to change in a household. Now that we have multiple time pieces and numerous appliances dependent upon the current time, it has become absurdly ridiculous to have to deal with this hideous and unnecessary law. Get rid of it!

Daylight savings time is a monument to the stupidity of man. It is a national embarrassment and needs to stop . 2 or 3 states do not participate in this outrage and we should follow their lead. Abolish the thing already, it serves no purpose and is completely ridiculous and without purpose.

People who say that "we need more daylight" or "it's less depressing" you clearly don't notice that the time of sunrise and sunset change independent of what time we say it is! Sunrise gets later and later from the winter solstice to the summer solstice, that's natural. So keeping our clocks on daylight savings time wouldn't make any sense, because it doesn't end up giving us extra time anyways. And some states in separate time zones would be on the same time. That's just stupid. Beyond the fact that earth naturally has cycles of later sunsets and earlier sunrises- there is research about the detrimental effects of daylight savings time. There are statistically higher rates of heart attacks, traffic accidents, even strokes around the time we change the clocks. Because we mess with people's circadian rhythms. And there is no evidence to show that it reduces energy consumption- if anything we consume more.

Getting out school and work when it's light out is great. Kids need more daylight Afterschool to play and get outside. Especially for organized sports. It's less depressing and people are happier and healthier when they can get outside and it's still daytime out.

I think daylight saving time has out lived its purpose and needs to end. Farmers no longer need the daylight to work they have lights on their tractors so all this time change does is mess with a persons body twice a year for a couple weeks every year let’s end daylight savings time

I have to get on a chair and lean over a table to reset my clock. If I can't switch my age back, then what the heck do we need to switch the clock back. This isn't little house on the prairie ... I'd rather switch the time back to the day before January 20th, 2017.

DST is just an antiquated practice that only aggravates people. It has no place in the modern world as our energy use is 24/7. It's not like we're just powering light-bulbs like they did in 1940. Day light savings time has no place in 2018.
