END DAYLIGHT SAVINGS TIME

Messages Sent So Far
Please stop the messing with our schedules. It's an antiquated practice that only aggravates people. As it is Arizona, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, Guam, the Virgin Islands, and America Samoa do not participate in this practice.

Daylight Savings Time needs to die. It’s unnecessary and it’s useless. Arizona and Hawaii don’t have it. Indiana used not have it either until 2006 when they made that mistake of reintroducing it statewide. They need to undo that change and the rest of the country needs to follow suit as well. Nobody likes it at all. Not even me. In fact I hate it

I live in Montana and I think it’s utter bs that daylight savings is in place, thanx a lot Benjamin Franklin, people in my state suffer from seasonal disorder, which is real thing, and thus suicides are at an all time high during winter solstice, we constantly get our employers and extra pushes for people to seek help during this time, so why are we doing this? It literally ruins people’s lives and causes much unneeded stress, why can’t all the days be equal? Better use of daylight my a$$, does the government understand how hard it is to acclimate every six months, from depression to happy, back to depression, it’s depressing, this should be a clear and precise vote for this, free in the USA? Ha that’s a freakin joke, we are controlled and herded like livestock in a giant system of corporate slaves, go against the grain people, don’t conform!!!

Who is even making money on this? Someone must be benefiting if this has not been stopped.

Oh, absolutely, do away with it. I own a child care, every year we have children crying because, “it’s getting dark and mommy or daddy have not picked me up yet. “. They don’t understand and how do you explain that to s three, for, and five year old. It affects us all, but at least we somewhat understand and can deal with the lunacy, children do not understand.

We need more day light at the end of the day. Safety first and then our health: It is likely no surprise that the 6-hour block during the day in which most accidents occurred in 2010 (the last year data was available) was 3-9pm, with the highest percentage of them occurring between 6-9pm -- evening rush hour. Commuters rush home daily to eat, spend time with their families, watch television and/or get to work on a second job. So why don't we frame this so that drivers are given an advantage here? This about those young drivers that are driving home for the first time after work in the rain at night. Now look at the cost of car insurance; insurance companies make money either way. But if we shift the time to put drivers back into the sunlight and we'll pay less for car insurance and the insurance companies will be fine (OVERHEAD). Now let’s shift to older drivers; how many times have you heard someone say that they have a hard time driving at night due to their night vision. Yep; we're simply putting people at risk for no reason at this point. I totally get the old reasons for this system, but things are quite different from 1895 (and the 70’). It a slim line in the advantages verses disadvantages so why do it? Let’s move it ahead (next Spring) and leave it. There will be daylight for those living in most places in the US for the 5 o'clock commute home from work. Those living in Anchorage Alaska are already driving to work in the dark, so they won’t mind the lake of change considering that sunrise in the summer can be as early as 4:20 am with a sunset of 11:30 pm. As a kid I remember that this resulted to a 22 hour day (first light to dusk). It never really became pitch black in the summer.
