END DAYLIGHT SAVINGS TIME

Messages Sent So Far
Please stop the messing with our schedules. It's an antiquated practice that only aggravates people. As it is Arizona, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, Guam, the Virgina Islands, and America Samoa do not participate in this practice.

This is no longer needed and completely messed with businesses now that many areas do not participate. This is an unnecessary and antiquated practice that needs to be stopped.

The effect on my children's academics is far more detrimental than any explanation can justify. By the time their biological clocks have caught up with the change...it happens again. This is the 21st century. Our law makers don't wear powdered wigs, high heels, or cravats. Let's act like it.

FRANKLIN TOWNSHIP, NJ - A local resident had a serious car accident involving a deer Friday night on South Middlebush Road. Police say, Mark Rodgers, a 63-year-old Somerset resident was traveling northbound on South Middlebush Road when he struck a large buck deer that was crossing the roadway, in his 2017 Hyundai Elantra. The deer came through the windshield and struck Rodgers before it landed in the back seat of the car, police say. Rodgers was taken to a local area trauma center where he is currently listed in critical condition, according to police. South Middlebush was closed in both directions for close to four hours while the accident was investigated by police. Sign Up for E-News According to research by State Farm Mutual Automobile Insurance collisions with large animals doubles during the months of October, November and December, during deer mating season. One study by the University of Connecticut the most deer accidents occur in November between the hours of 5 and 6 p.m. State Farm also offers some tips below on what to do to avoid a deer strike: Slow down, particularly at dusk and dawn If you see one deer, be prepared for more deer to cross the road Pay attention to deer crossing signs Always buckle up, every trip, every time Use your high beams to see farther, except when there is oncoming traffic Brake if you can, but avoid swerving, which could result in a more severe crash Remain focused on the road, scanning for hazards, including animals Avoid distractions, like devices or eating, which might cause you to miss seeing an animal Do not rely on products such as deer whistles, which are not proven effective If riding a motorcycle, always wear protective gear and keep focus on the road ahead “We know there is an increased risk of collision with deer around dawn and dusk, and also during the October-December breeding season,” said Chris Mullen, Director of Technology Research at State Farm. “However, drivers should be engaged, alert and on the lookout at all times, because you never know when you may need to react to a deer or any other obstacle that may suddenly be in your path.”

Ridiculous absurd I've been in dst all my life, I'm 59. Being very sensitive to surrounding environment I never get use to the hour we spring ahead. It takes all my momentum, falling back relaxes me and I finally feel normal. Congress stop chasing skirts and do something besides was our time and money. REPEAL the ignorance of DLS

Sunset at 4:30 is ridiculous. It shouldn't be pitch black when I get out of work. I can't take my dog to the park. I am depressed from SADD. End this madness and just give us our hour back! Spring forward and stay there!

As a mom with two small children (7m and 3 Yrs) I can’t even begin to explain the toll that daylight savings time has on my children’s sleep and my health. Seriously- as a parent I’m already sleep deprived but by messing with our clocks and SLEEP every 6 months you’re only making it worse! SO MUCH WORSE! Please, I’m begging, can we stop pointless daylight savings time? :(

To be brutally honest, daylight savings time is just completely pointless, can be deadly, and it’s just an excuse to make people work earlier. Overall, it’s just a waste of time that could be spent getting a good nights sleep. So why the **** are we still using it? It’s an unbelievably stupid practice that is complete ********, and it needs to end

Changing the time twice a year does nothing to help anyone. It messes with circadian rhythm. Having it turn dark at 5pm in the winter has been known to cause increase in mental health issues, increase in crime, and decrease in physical health. Fatigue following the time change puts workers at a greater risk of injury. There is no reason to continue with this archaic, useless, annoying and dangerous practice.
