END DAYLIGHT SAVINGS TIME

Messages Sent So Far
Please stop the messing with our schedules. It's an antiquated practice that only aggravates people. As it is Arizona, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, Guam, the Virgin Islands, and America Samoa do not participate in this practice.

If anyone on this forum lives in California, please contact assembly member Kansen Chun District 25 at this website: https://a25.asmdc.org/ Because let me tell you, this guy has it all wrong... he is proposing daylight saving year round permanently!! And it will be on the ballot November 2018!! People, come on, lets take action!! We need him to change this and have it be for standard time permanently, not daylight saving!! On the November 2018 ballot I want it to say standard time permanently!! Then I'll vote yes on it. Let's stop this daylight saving nonsense, and bombard this guy's inbox letting him know that Californians oppose daylight saving time permanently, and want standard time forever!!

I wouldn't mind getting rid of Daylight Savings Time but at the very least until then please make it begin in April and end in October. Having Daylight Savings Time begin in March and end in November for one has children walking to school and waiting for their school bus in the dark. This is completely unacceptable and everyone needs to keep contacting their reps and Senators until it's changed. Another thing is that millions of seniors want their morning daylight back. This early change in March and end in November is a result of the failed Bush/Cheney energy bill, people have made many complaints about this over the last 10 years and we are fed up that nothing has been done about it. Getting rid of it all together wouldn't bother me one bit either but at the very least change it back to the way it was prior to 2007.

The human reproductive cycle is guided, in part, by light and dark. People may play more golf after work during daylight savings, but I bet they’re having less sex while they adjust to getting up in total darkness. Unless they’re on hormones, most women’s cycles start during the darkest time of the month, around the time of the new moon. Changing the light and dark waking hours for an entire population has physical consequences. Rubio’s plan to lock in daylight savings is backwards. Please let Americans rest and wake up with the sun!

This may sound odd but the time change has a bad effect on a lot of people in general especially those with seasonal disorder or people who are bipolor and manic . The change in time just that one hour throws peoples body rhythms off . I would like to see the time change go away . It's not good for anyone

Stop this madness already! Pick either daylight savings or Standard Time. Stressing Americans out who already have enough to deal with does no one any good and makes things worse. Pick one and stop with the springing ahead one hour!

If we must continue this madness of shifting time how about making the time shifting on a different date, I would suggest we make the shift at the summer solstice. It is the longest day of the year and then we end it when the fall solstice begins this way those that love DST would still get there precious little hour during the summer. This would help ease the issue of those that hate getting up in the morning when it is still dark outside and would allow Mother Nature to take us in to summer with natural expanding days, instead of this force shift of time.

Of course, there is little to no current benefit for the time changes to exist anymore (at least for the majority of us). It seems to me this is just an old practice who's time has come and gone. We just need to make it go away.

This nonsense of daylight saving time must stop!!! People walking around like half brain dead zombies, all cranky, and out of sorts is ridiculous!!! Standard time must be adopted nationwide!! I am in California, and believe we should have standard time. Standard time also means more time to do things, and get things done!! And the plus side is we don't walk around feeling drained and brain dead, and causing traffic accidents!! We can also help push this Standard time movement if we ask the various sleep foundations to lobby in Capitol Hill for this cause! Here is a list of the various sleep foundations we can contact to ask them to lobby against daylight saving and for standard time: National Sleep Foundation American Academy of Sleep Medicine American Board of Sleep Medicine AAA Foundation for Traffic Safety American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology

Day light savings goes back to 1916 in Germany due to using coal and preserving coal for light. Today we are on a global economy where factories are open 24x7 and our homes operate with gadgets 24x7

James J. another ignorant that has been manipulated into believing that moving time back and forth actually changes when the sun sets and rises. Last I checked the sun, the earths rotation and most of worlds population could doesn't two F!#$s about DST. The sun rises and sets not according to time. James J. how about instead of manipulating the masses to adjust their schedules, you just get up an hour earlier and go to bed earlier and do what ever do with all that 'extra time' lol what farce.
