Such a stupid petition, you should instead ask for more scrutiny by the employers. How is this at all related to I-140 EAD rule? Please make the people be free who are already here for more than 10 years and working like slaves just because of GC which will anyways take half of ones life time. No body here is asking for GC but as long as you stay let the ppl be free and not become slaves of these employers. -

This is completely rubbish petition posted by some consulting companies because H1bs are already working in Usa. Granting EADs will not take anybodies job It will just enable H1B to be employer dependent And if citizens or green cards dont do consulting why would EADs do consulting. There are so many people who are in US from past 10+ Years, who kept hopes and dream they will get the GC in future and live like slaves. I agree, if not all I40 Approved candidates are given I140, at least issue EAD/GC to those who has completed 6+ Years in H1B and staying here for more than 10+ Years in US with continuous employment. Issue GC not only EAD to All H1B approved I-140 applications. STEM only not reason to give or invite immigrants. I know P.hd holders from top USA university right now owner or GAS stations and Motel's here. Outside STEMS and IT corporations many jobs are there which USA companies are really want man power. Give GC to H1B holders Widow as well. I know one of my friend he die during his service on H1B here in America, his spouse and US Born kids right now move out of the America and Staying in India life is not well for them. H1B visa holder's company not giving life insurance to them so they get nothing when they loss life here during work. Many points are there have to required changes in immigration for work permit holders. Start with baby step first, issue EAD and GC ASAP to all approved I-140 without any restrictions, no mater EB2 / EB3. Issue GC directly if some H1B holders have USA born kids here and they are in school give GC to parents as well (as you guys issuing citizenship to those H1B holders USA born kids than why not issuing GC to parents?). EAD should be given to those with Approved I140. It is really painful to stick to an employer if the only reason to stay is I140. Even an employer knows that an employee with approved I140 can not argue for many things because the actual key is in their hand. This is really ruining the culture here. A lot citizens are hating the jobs because those who are on I140 are struggling at the jobs to maintain their status and they(citizens) need to match their work or loose the job. Despite legal and well qualification with proven track record of serving IT industries and working for top notch american companies and proving our abilities why we have to wait for decades and juggle to be on job and compromising family , career (not to take freely full time education) or taking higher posts after going through stringent labor approvals. Maintaining H1B since last 12 to 15years. this is not a game or joke, everyday we must have to work without GAP to maintain H1b rules. I don't understand once everything proved that USA economy want us they approved labor certification etc than why unwanted steps and delay? I am not sure the owner of the article understands how EAD's are issued or I 140's are approved. Its close to 6 months to 1 year of waiting time from first applying for I 140 where USICS does all the background checks and verifies education credentials before approving 140. so, get your facts right on education qualification. There can be cases where people might have faked it, but give me a system which is 100% fool proof. you cannot just deny the advantage for a whole group just because a couple of them are misusing it. Whoever has created this group, is misleading everyone with wrong details. First this is EAD for I140 approved candidate who might have gone through all the verification process by USCIS. It takes anywhere between 6 months to 9 months in approving I140, Verification involves, Employers Ability to Pay, Educational qualifications, Valid Employment history. Second , All employers do background checks and employment verification process which is kind of mandatory at most client places.I know 90% of the cases goign through this. Its at the descretion of employer and corporate clients to verify experience.If this process of BG check is not followed, it's employer or orgaizations who are encouraging fake experience and should be accountable along with candidates. Also It's highly discriminating and punishable under law, if we say we should not give opportunity to someone deserving, a chance to freedom of work , freedom to choose their career path and have financial Independence. There has been abuse of immigration policies in many areas and one that has become very prominent is the loophole in EB1C category. This category was originally made available to bring in executive managers with international experience. This loophole has been taken advantage of by several Indian IT consulting companies to project their employees as managers. In reality most of them are technical resources - developers and testers. This category allows these companies to obtain a greencard for their employees in 6-8 months instead of 10 years for STEM graduate from US universities. This allows these copanies to retain the same employees and also projects them as non-H1B employees, which will in future help reduce their H1B fees. Hi, People who are saying not to give EADs because of people faking their experience need to do more homework before saying this on public boards. EAD is to give employment authorization to i-140 approved. Checking for the fake experience is the job of the companies who hire them. If they are able to pass the interview and are working well on the job than we cannot say it is fake. EAD is important for everybody, be it citizens, companies or immigrants. We would need reform if the immigration system was not meeting its goal. As it stands the immigrant visa queue is backlogged and H1B is a lottery every year. So every year the immigration system is meeting its goals. Therefore there is no need to give additional benefits. If people really didn't like it, they wouldn't have come here. All of them had no experience and faked their resume saying 5-8 years of experience. Each guy has others guys wife in their team in spite of knowing that resumes are fake. I have 8+ years working experience (in Software as Lead, Project Manager) in US alone. I am working in US since 2007 (I-140 Approved in 2014 under EB2 category). Due to backlog for India, I could not file adjustment of status (I-485). How can someone say EAD is misused to create fake resumes with 8 to 10 years experience? Check with Social Security Administration/IRS to verify whether the candidates is genuine or not? Social Security Administration maintains yearly earning records. I don't simply need EAD itself. I need my Green Card and please send it to my home country if I am not in US (Maintaining H1B status for 10 to 15 years is not a joke!). Please have mercy on us. We are contributing to USA Since we landed here... SSN, H1B Extensions we are investing since 8+yrs...is not a joke. If a person has right talent, he/she has right to live in USA to fetch right job. It is really painful to see the great country like America is not paying much needed attention on this issue. It effects lives of people who are here legitimately, get their higher education from US universities, legally working and paying equivalent federal/Medicare/sSN taxes and still unsure about the future of themselves and their kids. We are considered aliens here and after spending prime 10+ years here in beloved country like US, we are also aliens to our native country. We have adjusted ourselves so much that it won't be possible to get back and again start from zero. This is the reason for biggest distress on people's life in this situation. They are adversely effected with this long wait. Sometimes I believe it is better to be here as an undocumented alien than going through EB2/EB3 categories for India.
