Chronic pain sufferers deserve the highest quality of treatment available to maintain a better quality of life. Between the CDC, FDA and DEA, chronic pain suffers have lost the right to relief. Between the lies being told by senators and congressmen and all the unscientific data being regurgitated to the public, chronic pain suffers are afraid of what will happen at their next doctors appointment. Stress triggers more pain and all the federal government has done is cause more and more stress.

Please go to: http://www.painnewsnetwork.org/stories/2016/7/19/cdc-opioid-guidelines-not-rule-regulation-or-law Read the article by Pat Anson, Editor You can find a link there to copy the letter I received from Dr. Houry at the CDC who oversaw the development of "CDC Guideline for Prescribing Opioids for Chronic Pain - United States, 2016" Take a copy of it to your physician, pain mgt. physician, and any one else you can think of. Send a copy to your state and federal representatives. To the media. To the insurance companies. Anyone and everyone. It is a breakthrough letter. It dispels much of the misrepresentation, misinterpretation, and outright lies perpetrated by the politicians, the media, and insurance companies. My physician was ecstatic about it. He said he and his colleagues can use it to rebut any questions about their judgement in opioid prescribing. Send out your story and this letter. There is a 2 day drug abuse prevention summit in Las Vegas NV Aug. 31-Sept. 1. Contact ROTA@NPHF.org for information and registration. Gov. Sandoval is Vice Chairman of the National Governors Association. 40 governors of this group are trying to pass legislation like Mass. to make it much much harder to get opioids for pain. Stand up and fight. RM

I have been mistreated and undertreated for 6+yrs. I did not ask for Rhuematoid Arthritis, I did not ask for the doctor to put defective medical mesh in my body, I did not ask to be in a car accident. I have asked to be treated humanely as I DID for so many years for my patients that I cared for, for 17+yrs as a Registered Nurse. But now I am unfortunately in their position which I would have never dreamed of. I planned to work until retiring but now here I sit in bed at least 50% of the time if not more in pain because someone else wants to get high. My quality of life is almost none. Thanks to the rules and regulations YOU see fit to impose on others when you have no idea what it's like to live with chronic pain. I could describe the rollercoaster for you but you still won't listen. You have put all this money into programs for addiction but what about US? We deserve programs too. I have taken motrin for 9yrs because the doctors would not listen to me but now my nephrologist says I can't any longer or I could end up on dialysis but guess what? The government does not care. I should have another 40yrs. left of life but the way this is going I probably won't make it. Thank you for reading.

I am a chronic pain patient with alot of medical issues going on. I have had horrible pain, more then 15 surgeries, and more medication combinations to deal with in my life than any person should have to. If people are legitimately using their medication the right way, then don't make us suffer for the ones who choose not to. We are patients NOT addicts. I find it unacceptable for people who are not doctors to tell me about my health and medicine just because people who choose to do drugs, (who can and will find them on the streets) ruin it for the people who actually need medicine to function. Just step back and look at the whole picture, not a small piece.

When in Fla. 4 months ago when at my condo, every pharmacy including a well known one which I have used solely for this purpose REFUSED to refill a perfectly legal prescription for a painkiller. I had to fly home to NY to refill it, then fly back to Florida. I am outraged that politicians have used this issue for their own aims so that now people like myself in chronic pain are being abused and hurt. I believe we should bring suit against the FDA for needless pain, suffering, and violation of privacy rights.

I'm a Chronic Pain Surviver only because of the opiate medication prescribed to me after 4 years of taking nothing for this pain. I have too many health issues to list but after finally finding the right combination of pain medicine that works for me I'm now worried that I won't be able to keep receiving my meds. I don't want to be a suicide statistic. I won't be able to leave my bed to do my stretches every morning if my medicine is taken from me. Please consider people like me. We are suffering even more because we don't know from month to month if our medication will be available to us and many of us are already going through hell trying to be sure that our Pharmacies have it in stock or the Pharmacist may even denied some from their medication. We are Chronic Pain Patients and not Addicts. Please help us. Please help me and all who are chronically ill. I didn't ask to be this way, I miss the old person I used to be, healthy and fit but those days are over for me, please don't forget us. It could be you or someone you love that may need this medication bat one point in life. Please don't forget me!

Anyone who has not suffered from chronic pain as NO right to vote on this bill. My brother had a horrible death due to cancer. I can't imagine what would have happened to him without his pain medication. Show some humanity for people who live with chronic pain each day due to illness or injury. Leave the doctors do what they went to school for to give them patients the proper treatment. Please protect our citizens who are in chronic pain and let them have some relief with medication for pain.

This war on LEGITIMATE pain pts is a travesty! While you corrupt penpushers in Washington continue with your witchhunt/prohibition of LIFESAVING PAIN MEDICATION, there are many lives being lost to SUICIDE to escape the pain! What are the stats on death by suicide from chronic pain pts who our government NEGLECTED, ABUSED, MISTREATED, DEGRADED AND DISCRIMINATED AGAINST!?!? Im sure the numbers are quite high, but you have their deaths labeled as an accidental overdose, to further your addiction driven agenda. There are hundreds of thousands, millions even, of LEGITIMATE pain pts whose life requires the use of opiods for any QUALITY OF LIFE! You have targeted the disabled, our VETS who fought for your freedom while you sit behind mdeak oushing a pain, destroying thousands and thousands of lives, our senior citizens whose bodies are crippled in pain, people from all walks of life who have DOCUMENTED INCURABLE DEBILITATING PAINFUL CONDITIONS AND WHO HAVE TRIED ALL THE ALTERNATIVE THERAPIES OUR BODIES COULD TAKE! Pain management is nothing but a money scam. They only want to inject you with extremely costly painful injections that do not work! If a person has YEARS of medical records, mri's xrays, scans, etc and they clearly are diagnosed with painful conditions there should be NO reason to DENY us our LIFELINE! All of you should have to experience what living in chronic intractable pain is like for a few months. A full body suit made to send painful symptoms, like electric type shocks running down your legs, along with your spine feeling like its being crushed, and your feet on a thousand burning pins and needles, while your hips feel like they are being dragged on concrete chipping away at the bones. then there's the stabbing, piercing pain one feels all over their back, the throbbing and gnawing attacking your body, I doubt any of you would volunteer to be put in severe pain, and we wont forget about what it does to you mentally, pain so bad you will be begging god to take you, like i do daily. You all need to step uo to the plate and dmit the lies you are feeding the public. You will NEVER win the war on drugs, EVER! There will always be dealers, and addicts who abuse whatever the f*** they want, the addicts lives wont be disrupted in anyway by the CDC restrictions, but the chronic pain pts, we are being discharged left and right, having our meds suddenly stopped or lowered to ineffective doses. By DENYING LEGITIMATE pain pts our LIFESAVING meds how many addicts did you save!?!? In fact, heroin deaths have increased dramatically, and my guess is as you continue to cut legitimate pain pts meds, you are forcing them to turn to the streets for relief or SUICIDE! LET OUR DRS TRET OUR PAIN WITH THEMEDS THAT WORK FOR EACH INDIVIDUAL. WE DO NOT COME IN A ONE SIZE FITS ALL PACKAGE, LIKE YOU ARE RETRICTING LEGITIMATE PAIN PTS TO. I HOPE KARMA KNOCKS ON ALL YOUR DOORS, I HOPE YOU WILL BE MADE TO FEEL SEVERE PAIN ON A DAILY BASIS,I HOPE YOU WILL KNOW WHAT

living/crying hour by hour, sleepless nights, who can drive/move you while you are in severe pain, planning your next event (including when to eat, go to bathroom) rather than sleeping in for hours to numb the pain unmedicated. It's not a pretty lifestyle, no human should torture themselves at any age this way.

I am writing to you today regarding your vote on SB524/HR953 Comprehensive Addiction & Recovery Act of 2016. This is an unconstitutional law that puts an undue burden on real paitients and their families in an insane attempt to stop the small percentage of people who are prescribed these medications that do become addicted to it, at the expense of the rest of the patients that are actually following the rules and there doctors orders, who are on medications to simply function! Your vote says the small percentage is so much more important than the majority of the patients, that are following the rules, are now being denied their last option! Addicts have treatment centers and support groups, where do you suggest the pain patients go when this medication you have just made so difficult to get was there very last option?

P.S. I am one of these people. My Doctor just retired and now I can't find anyone where I live to manage my problem. I think its ridiculous that people that do not have the same education that Doctors go through can dictate to them what they can and can't prescribe.
