I am one of the people who's meds were taken away because the doctors are so scared of the government. I had to stop working, move in with my parents and can't care for my 10yr old child. I lay in bed most of the time screaming and crying and praying to die. Last year I had pain but the meds helped and I was an extremely active happy person. I don't know why I'm being punished for someone else's problem. Detainees get better treatment that a citizen of the United States.

We shouldn't have to suffer, because of the addicts that have ruined our lives. We are in pain, horrible pain. Without proper medication, we can't survive. Let the professionals determine our medications, not the government!!!

Because of new regulations, I have gone from being a respected member of the medical field/community, working as an EMT/CNA/MEDTECH, to being treated like a junkie because I developed a neurological disease that effects my pain receptors as well as many other bodily functions, and connective tissue disorder that causes joint dislocations, and connective tissue degeneration that effects not only my joints but my internal organs as well. I cannot get proper pain control because everyone says their hands are tied, even though I am on the lowest dosage of meds available. How is that fair to a single mother, that just wants to be able to take care of her daughter without crying all day every day, and not being able to walk from the excruciating pain caused by these debilitating diseases.

What is wrong with the American government?!! How is it possible for the government is able to take away our rights without a second thought. I hope all involved suffer from chronic pain SOON!! I want them to experience what chronic pain is all about. It is not in my head. I hurt all the time. I have been hurt by this is so many ways. And they can also discriminate at will. They can get away with this. We have to strike back. Stop this madness!!!!!!!!!

I have been in pain since the 70's when I was run over by a drunk driver. I am in unrelenting pain & have tried, & paid for , everything else. Like most of us in chronic pain do The only thing that helps me is pain relieving medication. I have been on different medications & tried going off on my own . Bad idea on my part ! I am not an addict !!! I am in severe pain & in need of medication to survive !!! If they take it away I may be a suicide statistic as well & I'd rather not !!! Butt I can't stand this daily torture !!! Who could ??? Do not take these medications away from us because others misuse it !!! Don't punish those already being punished by their own bodies every day !!! That's unacceptable!!!

Would you want to endure a toe amputation with nothing given for the pain? Would that be barbaric? My chronic pain is rated just above that level of pain on the McGill pain index. While there are times it flares and worsens, the pain is incessant. It is a progressive condition, it spreads, meaning over time it will likely affect more and more of my body, it has already started to creep up my leg after just 8 months. It is a neurological disease called CRPS or RSD, triggered by a foot surgery recommended by my doctors. I am unable to walk at 36, as a newlywed and mother. Medication does not ever take the pain away, but it helps. Without it, it would be unbearable just to go to the bathroom, let alone have any function in life. I don't like it, it makes me drowsy, but the alternative is pain that makes me go into shock. With it, I can sometimes be up on my walker for a little while, I can bathe myself, etc., and recently it has even enabled me to take a few shuffling steps. Take it away, and you'll take whatever little bit of life and hope I had left. Open your mind, do not do this. Everyone is not the same, and some people actually require and responsibly use pain medication for pain. Addicts will simply turn to more dangerous street drugs. Since prescription drugs have become more difficult to obtain, we have already seen a rise in illicit heroin and fentanyl use, and overdose deaths, as a direct result. All this accomplishes is hurting people who are already enduring much more than their fair share. Addicts will always find a new drug, or a new way to hurt themselves. Address the root problem, which is mental health, and our abysmal failure to effectively treat it.

I do not believe, anyone, is against our country, finally recognizing, addiction is a medical condition that should be treated; however, once again, the people who are suffering from the new "policies" are the ones, who need the medications to have a quality of life! Treating pain, is not, a one size fits all!

As a chronic pain patient in Florida, I've experienced first hand the effect that CDC guidelines and recommendations have hurt me specifically. I've had trouble filling prescriptions because of the pharmacy or insurance and now my doctor is scared to give me my prescription after March 2016. I have a rare autoinflammatory disease and I need my pain medication in order to function. I shouldn't be treated like an addict or judged because of mistakes that others have made when I have been responsible with my medication. Please, don't take my medication away. I want to have a future and see my children grow up. I just want to live without suffering needlessly when there is medication available to treat my pain.

I am not an addict nor do I abuse drugs. I am a chronic pain sufferer who only found peace to live a semi full life with the aid of medication. For 12 long years I sought alternative therapies until they absorbed my life and only gave me a few hours of relief. Today, with the aid of my Dr I am able work full time and raise my son as a single mother. Don't take that away. Don't ruin my son's life.

Pain meds such as opioids, SAVE LIVES. THEY ARE NOT THE EVIL ENEMY AND ARE NOT THE LEADING CAUSE OF DEATH. Denying quality of life to those who are suffering, is causing suicides to skyrocket, but no one talks about that because it will destroy your lies. Give us our meds, lives and hope back. Now.
