Yes. It is disgusting. I have chronic pain from orthopedic problems (5 surgeries) with "promise" of more to follow. Also, diabetic neuropathy and wasting syndrome. Extreme social life eliminating anxiety, for nearly 30 years managed with now out-of-reach clonazepam, a benzodiazepine, is now keeping me at home as an invalid. Stop the nonsense. Get the dealers, who are now by the way making big money on 2mg. Clonazepam tablets at $10-$12 PER T ABLET, far out of my reach on SSD. God only knows what a 50 mcg. Fentanyl patch goes for out there. All I know is that I cannot get mine at age 61. Grow up, lawmakers!REPORT COMMENTS

Chronic pain patients should not be affected by the quest to treat those who have been abusing these drugs, but apparently they are. This is a dangerous situation, and if our leaders don't realize this, there is something wrong with their decision making abilities. There is a vital emergency in the U.S. right now, where because of drug abusers, chronic pain patients are put in as part of the problem! We are not addicts...what addicts abuse and think nothing of...is our medication. Give us a name, and keep the work of the DEA and CDC going for the addiction problem instead of punishing and adding pure cruelty to the way we have to live. This war has to stop and be organized properly so cartels and drug sellers are punished and patients of opioid medicine are protected and doctors are able to treat us. I have a life-long group of disabilities for which I would cost this government a lot of money without my meds, because I would have to be in a state-run home with no quality of life. Suicide will be the answer for more and more all the time. Please can someone see what is going on for what it is? We need help and our own country is letting us down.REPORT COMMENTS

I DO NOT GET IT!! I WANT TO WRITE A BOOK OF ALL THE THINGS I HAVE BEEN THROUGH WITH THIS CRAPPY HEALTH CARE SYSTEM. I AM ON OHP, AND I CAN NOT GET A GOOD JOB DUE TO MY PAIN, AND DYSFUNCTON. I NEED SURGERY BUT NO ONE WILL TOUCH ME DUE TO MY HEALTH PLAN. I HAVE BEEN IN PAIN MANAGEMENT SINCE 2004. MY CURRENT HEALTH IS HORRIBLE. THE LAST TWO YEARS I HAVE GONE THROUGH PHYSCIAL HELL! DOCTORS TREAT ME LIKE A CRIMINAL. THE CDC IS LYING. IT IS A HEROIN EPIDEMIC!! NOT A OPIATE EPIDEMIC!!! I KNOW THIS FIRST HAND. THE FACTS ARE NOW IN OREGON THAT IF YOU ARE ON MEDICAID YOUR OPIATES FOR LONG TERM PAIN NEED TO BE DECREASED 10% EACH WEEK TIL YOU HAVE TITRATED OFF. CHRONIC PAIN PATIENTS TAKE LONG TERM OPIATES BECAUSE IT HELPS THEM FUNCTION. I AM NOT FUNCTIONING DUE TO NO OPIATES TO HELP ME FUNCTION, AND HAVE JOY IN MY LIFE. I AM PHYSICALLY A MESS. THE NEW LAW FOR OREGON DOESN'T APPLY TO PEOPLE UNDER 18YRS OLD. WHY WHY WHY???THIS IS THE HEART OF THE PROBLEM KIDS GETING HOOKED ON PILLS THEN GO TO HEROIN! THEY ARE NOT GETTING THE PILLS FROM CHRONIC PAIN PATIENTS! HEROIN ADDICTS HAVE HELP. WE HAVE A CLINIC IN CENTRAL OREGON. MANY PEOPLE GO THERE TO GET HELP. IS THERE HELP FOR ME? NOPE I AM A CRIMINAL. I AM PROFILED, AND I HAVE DOCUMENTED MRI'S, XRAYS, ETC. I HAVE DONE ALL OTHER THERAPIES. I WAS ON YEARS OF ANTI INFMAMATORY MEDS THAT HAVE MADE ME HAVE STOMACH, KIDNEY AND LIVER FUNCTIONS BAD. I DON'T DO DRUGS, I DON'T DRINK AND YET I HAVE TO LOOK FOR A COMPASSIONATE DOCTOR AND THERE ARE NONE! THIS IS DEFINATELY THINING THE HERD, LEGAL GENOCIDE! CHRONIC PAIN PATIENTS ARE NOT THE PROBLEM!! PUT THE FOCUS ON THE REAL PROBLEM, HEROIN. ALCOHOL. ETC. THE CDC IS LYING!! WHY? OPIATES HELP US! WE NEVER ASK FOR THEM DUE TO BE JUDGED, AND IF YOU DO ASK YOU ARE LABELED AS A ADDICT!! I have 19 conditions that cause excruiating pain and my opiate dose has been cut down to a level that has ended my mobility and put me in a wheelchair because of Heroin Addicts' abuse. This is not my fault and I should not be punished for their drug abuse. I have 13 years of perfect drug tests to prove I'm not an addict. I have no quality of life at this level of pain. Politicians are on a witch hunt against good doctors who are sensitive to those who suffer like I do and they should not be prosecuted for treating patients. The only choice left to people like me is suicide, and that rate will continue to rise as we are driven out of our minds by pain.REPORT COMMENTS

I could never imagine having to take pain medication just to have a semblance of a normal life. I dislike having to take pain meds but they give me a small amount of trying to act like who I was before I got sick. The government/DEA need to get out of our healthcare and let our drs help us! I suffer from MULTIPLE DEBILITATING INCURABLE CONDITIONS that cause me SEVERE NEVER ENDING PAIN! I tried all the alternative therapies MY BODY, not someone in the governments, DEA,CDC, FDA OR PROP, MY BODY could take and left me thousands of dollars in debt. YEARS of physical therapy, massage, chiro, accupuncture,OTC/Nsaids that tore my liver and stomach up, discectomies, epidurals, and there were many that did more damage and are NOT even FDA approved, TENS, heat, back brace, water therapy, facet injections, trigger point injections, SI joint injections, nerves burned, nerves blocked, steriods, every non opiod medication, and two FAILED spinal fusions that left me with severe nerve damage. Opiod therapy was my LAST RESORT, as is the case for nearly all chronic pain pts, unlike what the government is tooting to the public. Once we found what medication and dose worked for me, I finally had a QUALITY OF LIFE! Eight years I was on the SAME STABLE DOSE! Then about a year ago, my dr tells me he has to lower his pts meds due to the DEA, CDC and our government! I have been in a living hell ever since! I must have had well over 200 injections in the past four to five years. VERY PAINFUL facet injections, SI joint injections, trigger point injections. They DO NOT help AT ALL! In FACT they leave me worse off each time he jabs them into me, but if I want the low dose pain medication I have to get them done, filling his wallet for sure! I am OUTRAGED over the LACK OF COMPASSION, CARE, AND DISCRIMINATION AGAINST LEGITIMATE PAIN PTS, DENYING US OUR LIFESAVING PAIN MEDICATION! If a dr cannot tell the difference between someone who is an addict looking for a high or someone who suffers from severe pain, then they shouldn't be a dr. When a person has YEARS of medical records, MRI's, xrays, scans, therapies, etc, YEARS of documented DEBILITATING INCURABLE CONDITIONS, THERE SHOULD BE ABSOLUTELY NO REASON TO DENY US PAIN MEDICATION TO HAVE SOME SEMBLENCE OF A QUALITY OF LIFE! What the government is doing to the chronic pain community is GENOCIDE! How do you people look at yourself in the mirror and are proud of who you see!? You all have the blood of thousands of suicides from LEGITIMATE pain pts who chose SUICIDE to escape the pain! MURDERERS! I don't doubt for a second that the deadly pills laced with fentanyl and heroin laced with fentanyl is coming from our very own government/DEA, just like they did during th prohibition of alcohol, poisoning it, killing thousands of innocent people. It does not make sense for a drug dealer to poison his product and killing his clientele,dealers want their customers to come back for me, obviously killing them would take money out of their pockets. The CDC overdose deathrate is FALSE! Even the DEA admits to the MISCLASSIFYING of nearly ALL heroin deaths as prescription pill deaths duemto the fact that heroin metabolizes into morphine, THERE IS NO OREPORT COMMENTS
