We as chronic pain patients should not have too,Things must change!!!Jul 5th, 2016Someone from Marietta, GA writes:
Chronic pain is an illness or the result of a chronic illness. Many auto immune diseases cause pain far worse than cancer. It is unfair to punish people who use medications according to doctors orders and the laws because of a small number who are intentionally misusing them. Eventually, those who are addicts can choose to do without these medications without causing constant tortuous pain. Yet, their abuse and criminal behavior is affecting people for who these medication make life bearable. The "War on Drugs" has now started a concerted assault on innocent people who have committed no crime.REPORT COMMENTS

I'm tired of watching all of my chronic pain friends suffer to the point of being suicidal! This is medical torture!! We didn't ask to be injured. We didn't ask for these lives. All we want is some semblance of our former lives and to be able to be functional and raise our families instead of being stuck in bed in agony praying for death.REPORT COMMENTS

I am being steady cut down on my pain meds after 17 yrs of living with chronic pain & never doing anything but take my meds as prescribed by my doctor but due to this war on pain patients. I & many others will suffer ! we did not choose to have the conditions we have so why are be being punished for it ? I have anxiety attacks daily now cuz I am terrified I will be forced to make a decision that will hurt & affect my family for the rest of their lives & the way these so call Pain Management doctors treat us is disgusting & should not be allowed , Too many lines are being crossed against chronic pain patients ! Why isn't the government doing more to keep drug cartel's from bringing heroin iinto this country ?REPORT COMMENTS

I am prescribed pain medication FOR A REASON. I take the medication FOR A REASON. I do not enjoy being disabled and in constant and chronic pain. I have had 2 failed fusions, I have a SCS (spinal cord stimulator implant) and other back issues including DDD. This is not easy. Please do not make it harder for me than it already is... I speak for myself and for all of us who suffer in chronic pain, real people with real problems, and we are RESPONSIBLE people for the most part, I can't speak for people who abuse drugs, but I speak for those of us who use them to function. Thank you.REPORT COMMENTS

There are many people suffering from rare chronic illnesses that have no cure, I am one of those patients. I have Ehlers Danlos Syndrome, Fibromyalgia, Gastroparesis and more. It is very hard for us to find doctor's that understand these diseases, especially doctor's that deal with chronic pain 24/7 issues. When we do we go through a complete exam, no matter how many tears are shed because of the pain, and complete questionaires. We are not addicts and they are not drug pushers. These doctor's are trying to help us be a little bit more productive, to get through each day. Since the government will not pass legal medical marijuana we need to use opiates and our doctor's should not be penalized for this.REPORT COMMENTS

I am so angry about this whole situation. My father killed himself because they were cutting down on his pain meds which made it very difficult for him to work. He knew that he wouldn't be able to tolerate the pain and continue to work that way and was afraid to be a burden on his kids so felt it would be better to take his life. Also my daughter who is 13 suffers from chronic pain and because of her age she has to suffer because no one will prescribe pain meds to some in her age. She has SFN and EDS type 3. She too has threatened to take her life. Stop the insanity and allow those who need their pain medication to be able to get them. This is about life and death. Instead of dying from overdosing which is what these people want to prevent, chronic pain sufferers are dying by their own hands.REPORT COMMENTS
