This is a horrible affliction that nobody knows can happen, when it does happen to you it is too late because most people think it is fleas and don't do anything and by the time you realize they are mites they have multiplied to the thousand and so impossible to get rid of. I have found a lot of success getting rid of them, almost to 100%. The website Aftermite.com has a lot of treatments to try and people on forums you can talk to for help.REPORT COMMENTS

Thought maybe my dog or cat had brought in fleas but couldn't find any. Finally googled my symptoms and birdmites.org came right up. My symptoms match exactly and I know there are birds nesting above my ceiling in the attic right above where I sleep. This is a nightmare. I feel crawling all over me Especially at night when trying to sleep which I'm not getting much of anymore. I am not crazy. Totally " normal " person here signing this petition. Please help. I just wonder if this could be caused by a rodent or a deer or a skunk or raccoon or possum? The reason I say this is because we live in the country and right by our house is a neighbors field. Well about 3 months ago the neighbors bailed the grass in that field next to our house. Man I tell you what it was almost immediate our house was infested with field mice. It took us a while. Yo actually get these mice under control, Now the thing about it is here and please listen carefully....The Drs are not thinking about the many variables that could come in to play. Ok those mice got into our furniture our food, our dog food, shoes clothes, coats, tool boxes, sinks, you name it they got in it ....no one is thinking outside of the box.It's so much easier for a Dr to say your crazy than to say they don't know.. At any rate those field mice are exposed to a number of things including all the things I mentioned thats including a number of insects, snakes , spiders , moles, birds, cows, horses, pigs, chickens, ducks, geese, see where I'm going with this it's hard telling what just ONE of those mice have been exposed to. Now this is a lot of variables but that's still not counting If your dogs or cats are exposed to things every day like a stinky ole stangnet creek, or another animals poop that has worms, a sick owl with loads of mites on it that you can actually see true story by the way.......and there are so many other things like what's in our food that we don't know how it's going to treat our bodies after 20 years of use yet. See what I mean...I'll admit I'm suffering quite a bit this isn't fun but I can see that theres a lot of people out there with this problem and can't rid if it why....because the Drs are actually too lazy and too good to actually truly investigate this issue thoroughly...Do you happen to happen to have a required protocol for Drs to abide by for a process of elimination before they give up on the matter. I've been to 7 Drs the first one is a punk that's all I can say he's barely 40 you can tell he was a jock in high school he adopted from Vietnam or something and was spoiled rotten, then he refers me to a infectious disease Dr come on he was just passing me off on this cause he didn't want to deal with it. The infectious disease dr just sat in a chair and said I don't see anything.....keep in mind she was younger than the first Dr and she had just graduated...how lucky could I get, SO someone suggests a dermatologist since I had sores all over my arms from scratching and being bit. She plays with my hair and says but you dint have anything it's all in your head and gives me some cream for the sores on my arms and sends me in my way. Oh I almost forgot before the infectious disease dr Indus a walk in clinic and the dr said I had thrush. I wasn't going to argue with him. I also forgot the hospital visit after the first dr they gave me and my husband pemethrin which did nothing. It's a cream you put all over your body. WREPORT COMMENTS

I have suffered from this affliction since 2003. I have pulled out of my skin all manner of objects: black, harsh fibers; neon blue gel like nano-tubes; a metal (brass or copper) looking wing with one smooth edge and one edge serrated; strange white fibers and crystalline specs like glass or sand shards; tiny hard blood clots that look like a caraway seed, long (on a microscopic scale) strands of gold, white and yellow fibers. Sometimes these things come out of lesions and sometimes they come out of clean / clear skin. I have even witnessed a couple of them appearing in the moment due to the tell-tale sign of that twisting, pinching feeling coming up through the skin just seconds before a lesion appears. And-then-hearing an almost imperceptible microscopic explosion at the exact moment that one of those pimples with the black dot in the middle appears on my skin. I eat as much of it that I can afford or find all 100% organic and non-GMO food and beverage items; have almost completely finished switching all my clothing, bedding, etc... over to either non-cotton fabrics or 100% certified organic cotton. I have been taking a hot soak in water with Borax (food grade) Laundry Deterg. Booster; distilled white vinegar and pure castile peppermint soap, every night for almost 6 months now. This disease goes away and then in a month or two comes back with a vengeance with new lesions - I can never skip even one day of the Borax soaks or cheat even once on eating a food item that is not 100% organic. And; by the way this is indeed a real physical disease manifestation - (how else do you explain that it is predominantly attacking only RH negative blood types - the notion that this is a delusion based on internet chatter is predicated on the belief that anyone reading anything about this on the internet is susceptible to then developing it; falls apart in the face of the fact that only RH negative blood types are coming forward with the fact that they have this -- because how do you explain that ONLY the RH negative blood types are suddenly responding with "delusional" outbreaks. Certainly, if this is caused by internet chatter, then wouldn't everyone be susceptible to developing it - RH positive blood types included??? - I would love to know, while I literally, visually witness a lesion suddenly appear on my wrist or leg, how I managed to magically, mentally caused it to happen. If my mind is that strong then why haven't I dreamt the winning lottery ticket number??? - And one last comment - I did not even know what this disease was called and only decided to look up the symptoms on the internet years after I had already been dealing with it so - so much for the argument that this is a delusion based on internet chatter. I'm going to have irreversible damage from this parasitic infection because all of these doctors don't know how to find them or even believe in them. I cannot go to an infectious disease doctor because they all want referrals but how can I get a referral from doctors that don't believe I have them. I've been infested for 9 years I've had all kinds of infections and now my eye sight is being attacked. This has to stop! I am so sick and I may not survive if I don't get the help I need asap. This is very real. We are not crazy. It's completely miserable and nothing helps. It almost hurts to wear clothes at all, but I wear many layers in shame trying to conceal the ugly bites. And I'm not exactly sure what a "picker" is, but it's hard not to scratch sometimes. Even unadvertantly in your sleep, but sometimes it is so bad it just consumes your mind. It's completely taken over my life and I can't get it fixed because nobody seems to know what the heck it is. Like scabies but more elusive and stronger and harder to kill. I've lost weight, I look like crap, and I feel like total crap. All the time, extreme fatigue and soreness of my muscles. I can't deal with this anymore, who has the time? All of the extra laundry, cleaning, showering...on top of a 50 hour a week full time job and 4 kids. Please, for the love of God help us. We need help and nobody is listening. People have accused me of being crazy & I was even placed in a psychiatric hospital for over 2 weeks. They refused to account the fact that my 9yo dog was experiencing the same symptoms. My other younger dog did not nor did my son; I believe it was do to the fact they had stronger immune systems. This is just not right to treat people this way. Please provide an over--the--counter regimen to treat scabies in humans, gogs, & their surroundings. My husband and I both have had it for two years. Our cats also. I KNOW one thing from my experience its shared between animal and humans weather thats how it came about thats o e way of re-infection!
