This is just bull, my husband has been paying the same amount of child support for 3 of his kids ever since the youngest was 2. We have 8 kids together now and his youngest is 14. His ex has filed for a review to have it changed, if she gets more than what she gets now this will put us out on the streets. We both work and she remarried and they both work and have a son together plus a new house. Why do we have to suffer while she lives it up?. They really need to change this, my children are hurting too. -

I have my daughters 50 percent of the time, I pay for all of their medical insurance, buy their clothes, school clothes etc. I am order to pay, my ex-wife 1000k a month. I still have to pay bills in my house hold and take care of my bills the law in NYS is ridiculous and should consider time spent with children. NYS should look at what other states like Florida are doing to accommodate parents for time spent with their children. NYS also needs to lower the age to 18 from 21.REPORT COMMENTS

I currently have the child for summer and she still receives the check. Somehow she decides she isn't getting enough money even though it's free money I have him and bought his school supplies. Somehow even when he's not with her she needs more money... This system is broken.REPORT COMMENTS

I am father of three young children. I have two child support orders out of Texas. I am a school teacher and I pay close to $1800 a month for child support, including medical. It is very difficult for me to support myself. I have a house and I have to eat also. And when I get my children I still have to buy food and clothes for my children. My ex wife doesn't work. She recieves welfare on top of the support that she gets from me. I'm not saying I don't want to pay support, I'm just saying make it fair. I still have to support myself and I'm finding it very difficult to. Thank you.REPORT COMMENTS

I know of several women who have multiple children by different men so they don't have to work. One in particular has four children by three dads. She doesn't work, she refuses to. She receives more money than a minimum wage worker, working 40 hours a week, but she will not work because her child support money is tax free, she is lazy, gets her hair and nails done monthly. She drives two brand new cars, has a large house, a boat, collects food-stamps, free medical, and rent help. She hasn't worked a day in her life, her first child was at age 17 and then she kept having them so she doesn't have to wok. I know one of her "baby daddies" and he is a veteran who got out of military and is struggling to pay his own bills. He cannot even afford healthcare for himself because his deduction for child support takes most of his money. I see both sides. She demands more money every month, but the child never has anything to show for it... it goes to his ex's hair, nails, vacations, her boyfriend and his drugs and she bought a new boat. I think the system is broken and the mothers/custodial parent should be required to work full-time and provide for their child, this needs fixed. I feel anything over $250 a month is too much and enabling more debt and unemployment and crime because women/custodial parents are using government programs to work the system... they feel entitled and know they can get it, they do not give anything to the child. The non-custodial parent is struggling to pay insane amounts of child support and they do not bring home enough money to eat, pay rent, have food and room for their child to visit, or money to go see their child. They system is broken and it should be a standard rate across the board at $250. Our economy would benefit, the unemployment rate would decrease, and non-custodial can be more involved in their child's life because they have money to use to visit, most families live in different states... with less deduction they can pay for travel to see their child. This is based on seeing both sides of child support (16 people, there is a trend!). Something has to change, fathers need support just as much as their child. Fathers want to be in their child's life, but cannot afford to or cannot get time off because their support is so high. Most of the support payment goes as personal maintenance to their ex. THIS NEEDS CHANGED. Women are using men for a meal ticket, it is real... FIX IT. Children will become better adults from the change and society will benefit from this.REPORT COMMENTS

My fiance and I have a 9 month old daughter together ,and he has "two children" outside of us. After all the "child support" aka "mamas Victoria secret fund/ hair and nails fund/drug money" we can't afford the modifications. We also get one of his sons every weekend but the child support doesn't reflect this. Why does the women get to file for child support for free but the father has to pay hundreds to get it modified all while footing the bill for women who don't want to work? Meanwhile my kids have to suffer , SO FRUSTRATING!REPORT COMMENTS

Current child support rules criminalize fatherhood. Fathers who want to be there for their children must pay first and hope they're allowed to actually be involved. Payments are set so high that fathers must decide to meet their own needs or go to jail. The system actually encourages deadbeat dads. Women can sit at home and spend all the money on themselves if they choose to. No one checks to see if the kids are okay, and unless the woman is willing to allow it, the father can't. People with money can hire lawyers and fight for custody, but the average dad spends so much on child support plus late fees, court fees, etc., that he can't afford to do this. The system is wrong on so many levels, forcing fathers to watch their children grow up from a distance instead of being the dads these children so desperately need.REPORT COMMENTS

it's sad that a mother can get 900 pulse for child support free medical free food and not work a day for it then u have her other kids and her husband that also is not working it's not easy to support 2 full family's. If u get stuck paying 900 or so that leaves you with what 300 week not saying every mother out there is doing this but there r more then a few out there but will never changeREPORT COMMENTS

Women that get knocked up and have the child without the man's knowledge or consent should not expect to get child support and take him to court for it, have the man's wages garnished, no tax refunds, bank levies, and be unable to travel becuase they can't get a passport.REPORT COMMENTS

My fiancƩ has to pay $1200 a month and doesn't get to see his kids because his ex has took him to court so many times he can't afford to keep going. They ask for money but don't want to spend time here because they run the streets at their home. He caught his ex with his cousin and divorced. She has 6 kids 3 different dads. She's going to lose the home because he had to file bankruptcy on it although she felt he should pay for it for her and the kids and the other 4 non working adults living there . None have a job so they live off child support and government. They visit if they want something. She told them they don't have to. In order for anything to be done he has to pay a lawyer AGAIN! He has also been ordered to pay her lawyer so $6000 in legal fees this past year and a half already! The kids love it over there because there drugs and no rules. His ex had a baby Monday and she was seen buying a new outfit yesterday to partyREPORT COMMENTS

When will congress or somebody understand that these laws are old and dated. If a man is physically able to take care of his kids and willing to do so then there should not be anything restricting him of that. The courts should nit have the right to interfere in family business. Now if the father is jot actively in the kids life and has been sought-after for neglect thwn at that time i say there should be some sort of repercussions for that but Im being force to pay over 700 a month for my 2 kids and she makes doubke what i make a month. Also how can they tax you money before taxes take their money? Its a crooked system that is in favor for the women. Not the father and the kids indirectly suffer because the Father cant do much for the kids after his support. My ex wife goes on trips and always buy the kids new things. I cat do anything for them but yet i still try my best to and will continue to until i take my last breath.REPORT COMMENTS

I owe my daughter mother 7000.00 in back support. They have now started adding interest to my back support. Now i owe 18000.00. Interest has already accrued on the child support. How can they start interest again on this money? My daughter is 29. I help pay her rent and car repairs. Her mother doesn't need or want the money. Child support is a racket.REPORT COMMENTS

A father's parental rights are often ignored, favoring the mother's parental rights. Sadly, men are treated as a financial provider only in the broken court system while the father and child relationship suffer. Reform is needed to reflect the rights of both parents and the child's well-being.REPORT COMMENTS

Females today have no morals or values. They believe they are entitled to child support because they made a stupid choice and got knocked up. If you are not married DO NOT REPRODUCE! A man that sleeps with you shouldn't be obligated to you or a child they did not consent to have. Should you choose to have unprotected sex, or intentionally get pregnant by a man you are not married to that's your problem! Have some self respect and common decency. You are not god, you do not have the right to make life altering decision for the man or child. The kid is going to grow up to be messed up in the head and the dad will resent it and you in the end.REPORT COMMENTS
