Like everyone signing this petition, I also pay child extortion (support). That's really what it has become nowadays isn't it, legalized extortion. One of the main issues with cs laws is government involvement with our personal lives. everyone who is involved has their hand in the cookie jar, so to speak. CS is a VERY big business in all 50 states. It's the reason why cs agencies try to collect as much money as they can from the NCP'S. In return The fed's will match what the states can collect. The states get rich off of this crap. With Texas and it's AG GREGG ABBOTT leading the way. As most of you are already well aware these scum bags could care less about our children. It's about the money. when child support was first created i believe it was done so with the right intensions, but somewhere along the way it started to get abused, by crooked judges and lawyers who wanted to make a name for themselves at exspense to the children. Sad thing is; none of these scums care. They alone have created this mess and as american citizens we are gonna have to fight to clean it up. The thing that we all have to remember these are our children not theirs and no one is gonna tell me how much i'm gonna spend on them every month. The cs scum bags have had twenty to thirty some odd years to screw this system all to hell and it's gonna take time to fix it. we need to organize nation wide rallies and marches to get people to take notice. Sooner or later they will have to listen. It's terrible what this system has done to people and their families. YOU ALL LISTEN TO ME. Educate yourself learn your states laws and start fighting back and do so with a vengance. I close in saying, " wars have been fought over this. It's called debtor's prison. President George Washinton guarenteed that any citizen can go bankrupt with no dishonor. Time for a new shays rebellion. Don't be suaded by these bums, leeches and moochers. What you earn is yours. When I came to an agreement with my ex wife to handle child support outside of court, she agreed. Then went behinde my back and went to court, she lied and got half of my paycheck, and took some custody away from me. When my lawyer contacted the child support lawyer he said " Tell you're client he shouldn't have trusted someone that is out to get him". Keep in mind my ex has not worked in 4 years and gets paid as much as I do(from me) without working. I will lose my house and cars because she won't work, when will they start to look at things on a case by case basis?REPORT COMMENTS

I have recently been ordered to pay $800 in support for my 2 yr. old son that is almost half of my monthly income I have another son who's mother did not put me on support but we split expenses without court orders since she didn't enforce support through the court they act as if my oldest son doesn't exist. I watch so many families suffer from child support issues and DHS problems. I have so many issues with child support laws and DHS ISSUES AFFECTING OUR COMMUNITIES. Every single kid needs both parents and child support and DHS is designed to separate the family. The same kids are criminals of tomorrow because the system is raising them that way. I don?t see too many people married anymore because men are getting smart, why get married and let the court take your life away in the signing of an order by some old dude that had a bad day. I hope someone besides myself see this action the states and the federal government is putting on our society. I owe almost a million dollars in child support and alimony year to date. This is a form of castration of hopes and dreams for me and my children's future. Luckily, I instilled sound knowledge in them so they can make sound decisions for their own lives. I love my three children and they love me. I was not in the courtroom when this enormous amount (2200.00 child support, 2200.00 alimony) was set in 1999. I have tried to have it modified and it was rejected every time. I have been put in jail and my license was suspended indefinitely. It is like in slavery the master would cut the slave's feet off and the master expected the same amount of production of work out of the slave. I have been homeless and I have lost everything that I once owned. I have contributed to humanity in many ways all my life. I love the United States and it's laws, but this has gone to far. The term "deadbeat father" has deemed me as a criminal in worldview. My x-wife is bitter and angry even up to this day, the court system in Alabama has backed her all the way. I tried to inform her that this will ultimately destroy our family's well being in one sense or another. There is a "Chinese Proverb" If you seek revenge you better dig two holes. It doesn't help me by being Black or African-American, trust me. No one wants to hire me because of this label that I wear (Deadbeat Father) and this debt that looms over me. People judging other people is a recipe to disaster. Absolute power corrupts absolutely. This is the worst system ever. I have been laid off for 4 months now and cannot afford to pay my 500.00 a month support. They have already taken my license but what good does that do for a truck driver seeking work. My ex bought a new car and house yet hasnt had a job since our child was born over 3 years ago. I am a new parent and my daughter's mother put me on child support when she was only 3 months old. The thing that discusses me about the whole situation is that she lied to the courts saying that I wasn't financially supporting my child. It was easily believed by the courts. I am now paying $950.00 a month for ONE CHILD!!! The mother is working and living home with her mother. She is not even held accountable for what she spends the money on. As for me, I am responsible for the expenses at my house and including child support payments. At the end of one week, I am already broke and have to figure out how I'm going to make it to the next pay period. Technically I'm pushed into virtual poverty. Recently I've received a promotion on my job and I was put under pressure to report the promotion to my attorneys because I feared that the mother would find out anyway and could take me back to court and claim additional money. The question is, HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO LIVE!!?? When it comes to child support in this country, common since just goes out the window!! Maybe 30 years ago, mothers were claiming child support for altruistic and noble reasons pertaining to the child's interest. Now we are in a new era, there are a generation of young mothers who seek child support for their personal interests and use the child to support their own personal agenda and they (mothers) are never questioned. The issue is that now the mother has no financial responsibility. As a side note, I disagree with those who want custodial parents to keep track of all expenses that child support pays for. Everyone should keep in mind that the child benefits from all the money spent-housing, heat, electricity, clothing, food, etc. I think you would be hard pressed to prove beyond doubt that child support money is being spent on manicures or alcohol as some have alleged. There may be cases where this does occur, but those are exceptions to the rule. Custodial parents already have a lot to manage-keeping track of daily expenses and accounting for basic necessities to prove how child support funds are allocated should not be one of them. Perhaps a better way to manage it would be to monitor bill payment for rent/mortgage, water, electricity, and applications for public aid for the custodial parents receiving child support. If you are not a custodial parent it is easy to see that this should be an easy report to fill out. As an active custodial parent, I can tell you for certain that it is easier said than done.REPORT COMMENTS

My children's mother is filing a child support claim on me now. Right now she is getting her nails done instead of looking for a job. I work I make $360.00 weekly after taxes. She plans on taking my kids to live a man in PA but not before getting an ok from the Judge and a nice piece of my check in which I'm sure the Judge and the law will allow. In Florida, I am 73% financially responsible for my daughter even though she resides with me 40% of the time. I make a decent salary yet am forced to pay $1000 a month in child support becuase of the backwards calculation of the law. I am being punished for educating myself and making more money than my daughters mother. I will continue to make more money and she will continue to take more. UNFAIR! Child Support Laws should be revamped to make sure the monies are used for the child...after all it is called "child support" I agree that the laws are unjust. The amount of support that most pay is just absurd. Most people paying support can't even afford to live because support amount is so high. I know a lot who are paying support are also collecting food benefits from the government because they can't afford to buy food. Most have to live with family member's or friends because support is so high that they cannot afford to rent a place of their own. I have three grown children. I have always wanted to support my children, even though the mothers of my children never got married. But because child support has been a way for the the laws involving child support and the women of the children pretty much keeps the man out the child's life. I say that for the following reasons. I have always may it a point to make sure that money was taken from my pay checks and all tax refunds where taken and placed towards my child support. But in the state of Virginia (which has some of the most racist and negative laws in the country, because of its Commonwealth status and being one of the 1st slave states to have slavery), men in general(especially Black men)are treated as slaves in respect to their children. Virginia has a Willie Lynch mentality that make him a slave to child support simply for the money factor. They incarcerate you when you pay your child support and when you don't. A lost of job and none payment will get you locked up. So how is that helping the child in the long run. I have been locked up behind child support, which forced my employer to fire me. Of course the court didn't give a damn, because it was about the law. They had no reasons to lock me up for child support, because the child support was being paid. Now here I am 2 months away from becoming a 60 year old African male still paying child support to a state and the fact that all of my children are grown adults and will be starting their own families one day. Virginia as well as other states and rich white America has just found another way to divide and conquer the Black race. Take the male element out of the child's life and the woman and children become even more of the slaves to a White Willie Lynch society. Let?s take a guy who has lost everything and led a tough life dealing with depression. He gets a job and pays his child support weekly. Then he opens a bank account to make weekly deposits in and offers the account to the Child Support Recovery, and they say they can't deduct from his checking account. Let's take this guy to court, charge him by the state with no court appointed attorney, put him in jail, give him a record which makes it tougher for him to get a job. Let's make sure that he stays a dead beat by charging unfair interest and penalties. Let?s give him a social option to join crime by telling him "We don't care where you get the money, just pay it now." So let's put him in jail, use other tax money to support him rather than him support himself while paying the best he can. I am not an attorney or judge, nor am I a Wal-Mart building politician. But I assure you I have more common sense than destroying people who have a tough time in life. So let us show the world that we are an unselfish, non greedy, God fearing, trusting, helping, intelligent nation that can find real ways to deal with social problems that just take the cheap way to jail.
