So my Childs mother takes me to court for child support, okay not bad why would I not want to help my son eat and live?!Here's my problem, she gets a extra $200 claiming she pays for daycare!I ask the judge for proof she's actually paying this? The judge has the lady who claims to be a daycare come up and swear my sons mother is paying her.Is that crazy or what?!So they can just say anything?I come to find out it's not even a real daycare it's her friends house. She claims she pays too and for everything else.Yeah right shes had a silver spoon her entire 19yrs of her life. She works as a part time waitress no way shes paying for half .This shouldn't be happening.Women fight to be equal yet some how there getting all the help.Who's gonna help all of us real Dads?! Till than I'll be working myself to death to stay out of jail and eating bread and sleeping where ever some one will have a young father who works so some lazy selfish girl can have my checks and spend it on herself.

My husband has been ordered to pay 1200 a month for child support, and two of the children may not even be his, but dhs will not honor a paternity test. The way child support is figured is unfair and they do not take into consideration the expenses we have. This makes us suffer and our children in our home suffer because so much money goes out to ex wife.

My ex has a brand new house and makes triple what I make, yet I am still expected to pay him a crazy amount of support. He has a live in girlfriend who is also collecting support. I would have raised the child on my own and never asked for support, he fought me in court and won so here I am trying to pay bill and support someone who makes more then me.

Unfortunately, the system financially treats all fathers as if they are "beadbeats" with regards to the financially responsibility while they may be wonderful fathers, like my husband. Between the constant bad mouthing from his ex-wife and the financial hardship (the high child support) it has placed on our current family, resentments grow that effect everyone. The child support laws may have worked years ago, but they need to be modernized. It does not take as much $ as we pay her to raise her one son a month! We should know, we are raising two of our own. The system is absolutely biased.

First of all, being forced to pay CS until the age of 21 is wrong. In Indiana if you are divorced and your child is 18, 19, or even 20 years old and voluntarily chooses not to go to college or not to work (at all or on a full-time basis), you must still support them (and the custodial parent). Furthermore, my ex shares a 2-bedroom apartment with her live-in boyfriend and I am required to pay CS for a 20-year old ?child? (who occupies the second bedroom ) that is equal to more than double their monthly rent. This is true even after my ex testified in court that she has my 20 year ?child? pay her half the cost of the cable, internet, etc? with wages earned from a part time job. My ex works full time and I provide health care for my child. This is clearly spousal support disguised as child support. The system needs to change.

This law of "child support" is unfair. In my case, the state of Florida child support enforcement has destroyed my life. I'm trying to built a campain and lawsuit against the state of Florida, to change this unfair, unjust and criminal law. Thank you...

I agree with this, however i believe that something should be add. That is child support should be based off what it takes to raise a child not what the non-custodial parent earns when the non-custodial parent makes below the amount needed to raise the child then the courts should then calculate what that parent can afford and still maintain their own finacial obligations i.e. rent auto insurance utilities and food.

please review these laws, they are not right or fair they are biased and need to be changed. the law should not give the power to destroy someones life to a disgruntled parent. the judges hands are tied by the laws and cant even use their own discretion on a case by case basis because the laws do not allow them to.

I was as single mom with two sons and did collect child support and never sat home and lived off of my support. I raised my kids alone and they turned out just fine. I do not believe that a woman should stay home and depend on the man to support this child alone. She should be required by law to work and help to support this child herself. The man did not create this child alone and should not be responsible for supporting it alone. Many of us do it alone and have been successful doing it. Its not easy but if we took the easy way and stayed home living on support than we would not be a good role model for our children. Many times I have seen women taking child support for their own personal needs and not giving the child what they need. It makes me angry when this happens. There should be something done about this. A woman cant keep making babies and taking a free ride on the goverment and a men that works hard to support his obligation.

Child Support is not intended to support the Custodial Parent's desires to be a stay at home parent. Child Support is not a means where a mother can assume or use the payment as if it were alimony or maintenance. Child Support obligations are for the child and the child alone. There are way too many people who are using child support as a means of supporting their personal needs and desires rather than using the money on or for the child. I believe that the courts continuously violate or infringe on the non-custodial parent's civil rights when they put the non-custodial parent in a position where they are in fact supporting the other parent, desipte the fact "in writing" it appears to be for the child. These systems are not monitored and I also believe ALL no-custodial parents should have the right to all child support statements, transactions, bank statements, etc; so we know where our CHILD'S money is being spent. Afterall, if we have rights to our child, and the child is a minor, technically this would not infringe on the other parent's rights as it is not their personal bank account. Most of the child support is used through state issued debit cards so i do not see where this would pose any issues. The fact of the matter is, this ridiculous and overwhelming system that is chronically abused by the custodial parents needs to stop. Our courts speak non-stop about what is in the "child's best interest". Well, if we are using this standard, i ask : Is it in the child's best interest to be deprived the money the non-custodial parent is sending to support them?" or is it in the best interest of any child to have the non-custodial parent so burdened and overwhelmed with child support obligations that they can not even afford christmas presents or to afford "fun times" with their child during their visitation? This must change immediately and our government needs to be 100% involved and they need to look at all angles rather than just a few.
