In illinois, the divorce court says they are only concerned for the well being of children. Yet they conclude that all marriage in this state are no fault and call it a no fault state. Morality has place In the system here and unless the mother gives up her parental rights, the father has little chance of getting custody of his. He has no say what so ever in where his kids live or the environment the mother places them in or who lives with them. It is assumed that the mother is morally sound and better for the children than the father. She is presumed the better parent. The courts in illinois will not burden her with having to keep track of where she spends the child support.REPORT COMMENTS

Not for sympathy but for why these laws are crap. My ex-wife married her parimore less than a month after our divorce was final. They already had a child together during our marriage that my insurance paid for. Her husband has a net worth in excess of $2 million. She started a trucking business of all things but claimed she has job and no income and her husband is unemployed when she brought me back to court for higher child support. I have two kids with her. The collapse of the economy caused my 22 months of unemployment and the loss of mine and my children's home. I took a job unrelated to what I did for the 23 years before my lay off in '09 and it pays $43000 a year anD is 65 miles away. Also it pays $16/hour less than my carreer plus I pay for medical insurance out of pocket now My ex got the maximum child support,(250/week) plus back support for the 6 months her lawyer dragged out the case. I now take home an average of $400 a week to cover everything. That same month she was awarded higher support she goes out and buys a toyota sequoa that has a starting price if &44000. I can't make my bills let alone feed my kids when theyre with me. I drive subcompact that has almost 200000 miles on it. What happened to my quality of life or the quality of mu childrens lives when theyre with me. My kids are living better then I could have ever afforded and I'm living like I'm just starting out at 18 with nothing. I'm 50. She will get an addition $80000 from me in child support over the next six years in addition to the $100000 she already got. It didn't cost over a thousand dollars every month to raise our kids when we were married. Plus she didn't work then either. Do you see the point I'm trying to make. In most divorce cases, the father becomes a cash cow. Paying child support plus half of unpaid medical bills and extra carricular activities as is my case. I feel like a rape victim. We the fathers are raped repeatedly with no one to help us and no civil rights to back us and defend us. MCREPORT COMMENTS

Child support should be paid by men only if within the first 3 months the biological parents notarize the financial responsibility of the future child. If the man does not want the child, yet woman wants it, she should be held responsible. (The argument that man should think before sex is invalid. The premise is different than outcome). Scenerio 1 --> Two scientist conducting experiment on a prototype human which needed two pairs of DNA. Both Scientist A and B decided to donate the DNA for experimental purpose only. Scientist A one day decided to check the behavior or prototype in public. Prototype made a government property loss of $10000000 dollars. Forensics ran the investigation and held both the scientist responsible for the losses. Scientist B had no Idea of the actions which Scientist A took with his sole consent. who's Fault ? My ex just got a new car and has no ambition to better her own existance for fear that it will reduce the child support I give. Child support should be for the child, not the mother. I pay CS in the state of Oklahoma for 750 Dollars and my ex-wife moved to Alabama during this time when they garnish my pay for 1100 dollars for my 2 kids that dont live in the state. They also took my federal taxes for 1600 dollars and the state of oklahoma took my state taxes for 350 dollars. I found out that I own back pay for 11,000 when I got divorce last year. I been garnish for a year and paying this women close to 1800 dollars a month. The child support office in Oklahoma been trying to contact the state of Alabama to stop this garnishment with no results. My oldest son been living with me for a year and attend Cache High School in Oklahoma. I hired a Lawyer THAT COST ME ($3,000)trying to fix this situation with CS. I cant understand why CS can destroy my life with no accountibility of their action. I have more respect for a thief in prison than I have for a system that takes your money with no resposibilities for their action. CS is legal robbery for the state that needs to stop.REPORT COMMENTS

Why is it all screwed up? I live in rural Ga...and make minimum wage and i have to drive 28 miles to work and yet the state wants 275 a week out of a 268 dollar check. Now they want my license there by making me lose my job there by causing me to lose my house, vehicle, and so on..it seems what we need is instead of a computer telling us what we are going to pay or someone who knows nothing about our particular situation telling us...WE as the people who pay our BILLS should decide what amount is best for OUR children. There are no checks and balances on the DHSand as such they abuse their power and when you contact the governors office or the house of reps or the main office of dhs all u get is a computerized auto responce so how do they deal with us...black mail extortion threats of jail time...so We need to all band together and fight the system and make them realize our childern are not atms for the state..if a judge can make me find a job why cant he make a mother get out and work..especially if they get state benefits and refuse to work?REPORT COMMENTS

My husband has been put in jail 3 times this year for child support. the second time he had a job and $500 the judge turned down the money and sent him to jail. Now he was in college, actively looking for work and sending whatever he could to child support after being denied a decrease in how much he owned when he had no income, and they still put him in jail claiming he "Willfully neglected" to pay his child support. this has to stop!REPORT COMMENTS

Guess what? It happens to moms too, My husband accused me of domestic abuse and of cruelty over three years ago. Got a restraining order against me and managed with the help of the courts to quit his job and move to another town and keep me from contacting my son in any way. He also kept him away from his older two siblings. We have had no contact at all. Then the judge refused to hear about of us not being able to see or to talk to him in 3 years and 4 months. Now I am slapped with having to pay 14% of my wages to a man that refuses to work and yet I am required to. I am also required to pay 3 years of I dont know how much to a court appointed ad litem that I didn't want to start with and who wouldnt set up visits or even talk to me or take my calls for the last 3 years. Is this fair. The laws need to be changed. Children are being taken and turned against one parent because the other doesnt want to be saddled with child support themselves. The court doesn't even care that the noncustodial parent sees there children. As long as they turn over most of there money to and undeserving excuse for a human. Lets start making both parents put a certain amount in trust and allowed to be drawn out for the needs directly related to the children and nothing else. None of the things I was accused of even happened.REPORT COMMENTS

My son's mother decided she would take him from me because I didn't want to marry her and be s family with her kids. I didn't see him for 3 years and counting and now that I'm married and my wife and I have a new son together, she's come back on the scene and the state wants me to give her $550 a month. When I asked the agent " what about my new son?" she stated, that's not our concern and you should have thought about that.
