It is unfair how the can take away your driver's license, lock you up, and destory your credit. These 3 things should be taken away and the child support should be only a quarter of your net income and not half of your gross income.

Where a system has been put into place to help those deserved trying to take care of their children the right way that very same system now hurts them to whom they were intended to help; those who get caught in the cross fire; and now I have to hear suicide every other day because of the unjustifiable claims that are made in just trying to earn a honest living. God HELP US!!!

My son is in OK and I am in CA, His mom does not allow him to speak to me. she bashes me in front of him and I have found out that she rarely has him because she goes out drinking with her friends. She recently changed her number and did not bother to provide me with that info or her new address.

I live in FL . I agree that BOTH parents should be obilgated to the child(ren) , not to go into my life story , but at least where I live at , it all benefits the custodial parent . There needs to be reform to the system that benefits all involved.

I have one son and two step daughters that I never adopted. She got the house I had bought before we were married, but then got the judge to say she didn't have to pay the mortgage, put the house into foreclosure, ruined my credit, I was the only one on the mortgage, meanwhile she had a 6000 sq ft house she inherited from her late father she could have moved into any time, she doesn't work, has made no attempt to find a job, constently tells the kids she hates them, and wishes they were never born. Bashes me in front of them, lets her boyfriend spank them. I fought for 50% custody and placement. I only got 30%. Yet I live only a few blocks from the school. She is getting $1350 in child support from me, and $1700 in alimony from me every month. I am left with only enough to pay my current bills. If I need new tires for my car it will take me a year to save up for it. I am perfectly capable of caring for my kids. Why am I being punished by the court system for trying to be a part of my kids' lives?

I think it is unfair that my husband is sitting in cobb county jail for 12 months for being $4266 behind on child support.for the simple fact that he was unemployed at the time and we had jus payed close to $5000 in april plus the mother of the children doesnt even reside in the county that the case is in and she hasnt lived there for several years. I personnally thought that ur case had to be in the county u reside

This is an unfair system. Every month we have to pay $400 to a woman who does not work and we know for a fact uses the payment to pay her house payment. Its frustrating to know that not only do we pay for our house we pay for hers. My husband and I both work hard to provide for our children, why should she get to sit by and not work?

My husband has been getting screwed for years by the attorney general. I have read story after story of men getting screwed over. It isn't fair to treat fathers this way. Something needs to be done to stop the attorney general from being unfair. Women should have to support their kids too. After all, they are also a parent!!!!!

Shared parenting for good people should be mandatory. Also, the tax free advantage of doing nothing is a crime and there should be accountability by the person receiving child support. The person receving should also be required to work after the child turns 5 and is in school instead of sitting at home doing absolutely nothing and also be engaged in college training or a trade to get shared parenting in place instead of having the full burden of the non custodial parent pay and get the non custodial parent off welfare that further burdens the tax payer and rewards the laziness of the non custodial parent without incentive to do anything productive or meaningful.

I am writing to you to demand change on an epidemic that is destroying families, fathers, and children right here in Country. Simply put, the Family Court system as it now exists has stripped fathers of their rights to be a part of their children's lives. Instead, fathers have turned into financial pumps, living in constant fear of being dragged back into court by their ex-wives and victimized yet again. I could give you countless examples of fathers who have been victimized. Im not referring to the deadbeat dad types who leave their ex-wives and children living in the streets. I am talking about hard working, tax paying, child-loving fathers who live for their children. The ones who had their children stripped from them for the simple reason of their ex-wife deciding that she just no longer wanted to be married. The ones who are allowed to see their children for 4 days a month. The ones who are allowed to see their children for a few weeks over the summer. The ones who are required to pay astronomical amounts of child support, often putting themselves in a situation where they barely can afford to live. These are the fathers that are relying on the judges, lawyers, and Legislators to help reform the system. This system has created a society of fatherless children and childless fathers. This system has created its own life through a judicial system that exists on misery to feed itself. This system violates their Constitutional Rights to Due process, Equal Protection under the Laws, and Privacy. I would like to call your attention to the February 25th, 2002 ruling by C. Dane Perkins, Superior Court Judge of the Georgia Alapaha Judicial Circuit. Judge Perkins declared the Georgia Child Support Guidelines (which were adopted guidelines from Wisconsin which almost all states use) void and unconstitutional in his ruling based on the above Constitutional Violations. Due Process The United States Constitution provides that NO State may deprive any person of life, liberty or poverty without due process of law. In almost all states, presumptive child support awards rise as a share of obligor (paying parent) income. NO child cost studies show child costs rising as a share of after-tax income. ALL child cost studies show child costs declining as a share of the after-tax income. In most cases, especially in higher income situations, the presumptive child support results in a significantly higher obligation than one bases on actual child costs that decline as a share of net income. In Parrett v. Parrett (1988, the Court of Appeals of Wisconsin), the court found that, particularly in higher income situations, the presumptive child support amount would result in a figure so far beyond the childs needs as to be irrational. This is the very sort of result the Due Process clauses are designed to prevent. Equal Protection The United States Constitution provides that NO State may deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection

After 9 years the custodial parent decides he wants child support after he has another baby with another women....I have had open contact with him and not ONCE has he asked for money now all of a sudden he wants it. I have no problem paying. The problem is he was allowed to reopen the case after 9 years have past and I owe a ton back pay. Okay I get I should've been paying but I think there should be a time limit on how far back you can claim child support. My ex makes more then me and him and his wife are working yet he needs money from me??? I have a new family to raise, how is okay that one child can have three sources of income yet my child has to be put on the back burner?!

This is a broken system. I pay 400 a month for a daughter who was stolen from me by her father 13 yrs ago. I had to plead guilty to non payment though I have always paid, due to him going through a private agency who never reported my payments to Kansas. I have 3 other children that I support alone and don't get a dime in child support and their dads have never been in jail yet I have due I the shitty system of child support laws. I despise child support laws and all their loopholes. It's ridiculous and something needs to be done. When an innocent person has to plead guilty due to the cs laws and serves time in jail for "non support" when there are files of records of payments something is beyond wrong it's ****ed up.

As my income goes up so does my child support payment without a cap. Why? How much could one child possibly need? If I suddenly was making a six figure income I would be asked to pay thousands a month in child support. How is that legit?!
