Its a sad day when I am a female and I agree that the men are being screwed severly! It seems like he can never get a break, he sends more than enough kid lives more than great yet he gets a raise the woman gets a raise. I mean seriously why raise it if the kid has everything it could possibly need. Yet man loses job well too bad get another one. But dont worry woman sit on your butt will get his money for you. Also how is that if a man and woman have a child and separate and the man pays for the child every things good, then say the woman has another child with another man everything is still good, no changes. Yet if the man has a child with another woman they basically tell him too f***ing bad you shouldnt be out having more kids tell your new woman to get a job, why not the other woman as well. Its just so screwed. Hell I know so many children whos mothers recieve more than enough yet the kids are still wearing holey shoes or "trash" for clothing yet mommy has deigner labels with no job and the dad is working 3 jobs to barely get by while she requests another raise bc oh my god that one store is having another sale that she just has to go to. Its rediculous when will the decision makers wake up and make things fair and tell these deadbeat mothers to get off there butts instead of these actually good guys that were never given a chance in hell to be a good "financially" dad.REPORT COMMENTS

I am with you on this. I do have custody of my kids and I work all the time a full time job. I am supposed to get child support from my ex-wife but she hasn't paid. I think the same laws that convict men should apply to women as well. Equal Rights is a must to have! After all that is what the women's movement was about women wanting the same rights as a man. I think we should give it to them.Both parents should work if they are able. I also think if a parent contiually doesn't pay their support payments should lose custody of their kids. I am a dad fighting for my rights to my daughter. I am struggling to pay attorney fees, court fees, and child support just to be able to see her. No wonder so many fathers don't even try to get involved. The laws have been made to give fathers immediate joint custody and custody to the parent who will more likely allow the child to have a meaningful and ongoing relationship with the other parent but this is rarely enforced and when it is, they still take enough child support from us to cripple us. So we get equal time with the child but still pay the same amount of child support. So we're struggling to pay the expenses we incure while the child is in our custody and also while the child is in their mothers custody as well!REPORT COMMENTS

I am a woman and I completely agree to this! I have watched my husband struggle to pay child support and also support our children and his child while she is in our custody. Her mother sits at home, unemployed, and collects state assistance, lies to the government to get it, and collects child support. I think its outrageous that interest is charge for owed child support that money does not go to the child it just a way to keep you paying your whole life also the way the attorney general take money by freezing back accounts and blackmailing you into paying extra on child support should be illeagle I was paying the whole time and the did this to me had to to give to sign a document agreeing to release a thousand dollars to them that I just pulled from my 401k to help me pay bill while I.was unemployeed while the whole time child support was taken out of my unemploeement check before I ever got itREPORT COMMENTS

I was recently ordered to pay child support for a child I did not know was mine for 14 years. A DNA test was done and proven that the child is mine. However, I am currently married and supporting my wife and three sons and also paying support and arrears for my ex-wife and children. The Jefferson County WV court did not include the arrears I am paying my ex-wife, only the current support order. Child Support is Child Support either way and it seems like the judge should have included the arrears. I can barley afford to feed my current family and make ends meet because I am paying over $1500 in child support and arrears per month. The childs mom is also married and never claimed her husbands income and claims they are seperated and filing for divorce but there is no record of it and I am being told by friends where she lives that they are not divorced and still live together. My ex bought a bigger house and a new car. I am stuck with a huge child support payment, struggling through bankruptcy and trying to eat more than Ramen noodles. I see my kids 5 days a week, 3 days more than "required". I have been in and out of court for a year and a half, first hearing was to get visitation and jointlegal custody rights after the mother and I mutually seperated. She tells me that she doesn't need my money for child support and she could wipe her bottom with it but there we are sitting in mediation filling out financial statements, mediator glances at the mothers, brings mine in the other room, returns tells me the amount which was unrealistic, both of us make just about the same amount of money but her monthly expenses barely exist because she lives utility and rent free in a two floor house with her mother and could you believe my expenses basically bring me just shy of negative funnds, why is this ok? I recall the mother and I both being present for the act of creating our child, we both decided to seperate, I did not abandon my child, I am fighting for more custody and time but being severely punished. I know this is long but the government and court system need to understand what is truly happening. To further prove the faud in child support and how it is used as a weapon here is the mothers new way of dismantling my financial and personal life with our child. She is moving two hours away, expects me to drive a total of four hours out of the eight I have with our child on designated days which in turn brings my weekly gas bill to 200 dollars and drastically cuts my time with our child, she then threatens to bring me to court to up the child support if I choose to try and stop her moving legally. Child support is a weapon used to damage the relationship between the father and child and the court is an enabler.REPORT COMMENTS

After loosing my daughter the state gave her to her father which I'm glad he was able to get her out of the system but after his claims of quitting everything one minute then witnessing him buying a 10 sack with money I let him borrow because I thought it was for our daughter I feel like his betrayed not only me but our daughter as well and I don't feel like I should be responsible for supporting his habit and I realize how corrupt the system really is, shouldn't there be thrall investigations to prevent this from happening drug tests even it doesn't seem fair no wonder the economy sucks people deceive the government every day to get government checks to provide for there own drug habit when are they going to do something about it because it only going make our economy run deeper in debtREPORT COMMENTS

I agree, the laws have to change. My boyfriend is paying over 1100 a month for 2 kids and the mother is on disability for being bi-polar! She shouldn't have the kids but courts gave her full custody! I have watched for the past 2 and a 1/2 years, my son take the high road everytime while his ex could become this horrific psychotic abusive thing. Human Being would be to nice. Everything she has done to hurt the kids has been reported and all parties have seen the pictures/abuse and video of her being abusive. Yet she won in the end and my son has to pay her so she can continue to be abusive. Why is it ok for her to make more tax free money and able to continue to do nothing, not even get a job and my son will have to move into the poverty level. My son is by far the better parent and the safe place for the kids yet the 'system' went her way. Its probably true, its not who you know, its who you blow!!!REPORT COMMENTS

WHEN I FIRST GOT PUT ON CHILD SUPPORT I WORKED ALL WEEK AND GOT A CHECK FOR $1.98 BECAUSE MY CHILD SUPPORT WAS SO HIGH AFTER THE I START GETTING CHECKS FOR $25 A WEEK. NO ONE CAN LIVE LIKE THAT. ALL THE WHILE MY EX-WIFE WAS IN DISNEY LAND WITH MY KIDS WHO SHE TOOK AWAY FROM ME BECAUSE I WOULD NOT LET HER USE DRUGS. AND THE JUDGE GAVE HER CUSTODY AND THEY MOVE TO PA AND SHE CHANGED HER NUMBER. BUT CHILD SUPPORT IS FAIR.REPORT COMMENTS
