In addition to my entry and after reading others, I would like to add that the very Liberal politicians that support these ridiculous child support laws and the enforcement of collection are also the ones that support a Woman's right to decide whether a child is born or not. What about the Men that oppose the birth but get no vote whether a fetus lives or dies? Aren't they held just as accountable for child support regardless of their opposition.. Where are our rights in all of this? Maybe we need to "burn our underwear". Unjust and less than equal....ALL OF IT! I am sick of hearing about "equality" with Women I have lived 45 years, through 3 marriages, 2 divorces, 6 children, and I have yet to witness any equality for Men???

I divorced my first wife in 2000, we had 2 children and she was awarded $3000/mo for 3.5 yrs. Ok then after was receiving 650/month. My second wife and I had a son, married and divorced within 3 years and I began paying her $650/mo. I have since remarried and have another daughter and 2 step sons and over the last ten years have been evaluated every 3 yrs and at one point was paying out $2000/month. So my success has led to my ex-wives lifestyles being enhanced.(my second wife is now getting $1000/mo for one child out of six that I have to support)..WTF is that and how is that fair? I am now out of work and still owe so I will get behind unfortunately and not only will my family suffer but I will be placed onto a lien registry here in North Dakota until it is caught up again. Oh I might add my 2nd wife decided to move my son out of state(600 miles) and remarry a stranger and after I spent $5000 for an attorney to fight it she was awarded it anyway. System is corrupt and needs to be completely overhauled but the getting richer players(attorneys) lobby relentlessly against any changing of child custody laws. They stand to lose heavily! This has to be corrected and I would like to know where to get back the excessive part of the $300,000.000 I've spent supporting ex-wives that were worthless wives that have ever been held financially responsible near what I have when the laws are finally corrected to be equal for all?

The laws and guidelines here in Florida sucks. How are you gonna lock somebody up or take away their license, because they're poor? How can you give BOTH parents 50% shared custody, but yet still award child support? Why do you still award a significant amount of child support when the primary parent brings in a lot more income then the obligor? THIS KIND OF STUFF IS WHAT NEEDS TO CHANGE!!! IT'S ASSANINE AND DEGRADING!!! Why make the parent, who pays the support, fell like nothing more then just the money in their wallet? Everybody says it takes TWO to have a baby, it takes TWO to raise a child!!!

So just got out of court and well my ex still gets 400.00 a month to be lazy ghetto welfare queen. Dose not matter if I have 50/50. Along as you are ghetto lazy dead beat as she is yoy get the money. This is messed up . my ex rather not work and live off the government as her mother dose. How can you live with your self knowing you dont care for your children nore love them. I pay 100% for my children's expanse and child care while she goes and drinks and partys and so on. She uses the money on her self. Talk about that.

Why does child support not configure the cost of living? Why is the court not trying 50/50 custody? And why the hell does my husband's ex-wife get $1100 because she doesnt work AND CHOOSES NOT TO. If my husband quit his job he would have to provide a weekly list to the fl court about where he has applied and the name of the manager, but the mother doesn't. If she would get a job he would be paying less and sher would be contributing to the welfare of the kids. Why does the bum get to keep main custody and my working husband is only allowed 35% of the time and lives 20 mins away!? Please change the laws of how child support is configured and stop favoring the woman. The system is discriminating based on sex (the male)

The Children Support laws are unfair. The office treats men unfairly. I wish they would focus and help men get visitation as much as they go after men for Child Support. The only way to get justice is to hire an over price lawyer. Then maybe the judge will listen. It's crazy how the system is right now.

I work all but 2 days a month while my child's mother buys a new Jeep gets her hair and nails done lives at home with her parents and lives the good life. Went to court today and she got her child support increased $142 more dollars a month for almost 500 a month. The system is set up to cater to the poor woman always the poor woman. It's gotta change!

If a man cannot pay in these times, he goes to prison to eat his meals with drug dealers and the like. Where as if the women (who is typically the custodial parent) can't pay, she is bought a house (habitat for humanity) and given free health care and food stamps.

I am all for supporting my children and making sure they have all they need. I love them very much and want to be the best father I can be. With that being said it is difficult to do that as the child support is a huge debt. I pay 1400.00 per month for 3 children while my ex doesn't work, lives on my families property with her new husband, and takes 100% of the tax deductions. I work 6 days per week (I have a 4 year degree) and at times have to miss out on my time with them because of having to work.

20% is ridiculous I cannot even afford an apartment, which directly effects my ability to pay for a car and gas to see my kid (best interest of the child), which directly effects my ability to remain employed to pay at all. There solution "get a second job", really? So I can't ever see my kid? The system clearly favors the mother already. It feels like government want to screw the father when I want to see my son and provide. Ridiculous! I make enough money and feel the system is raping me royally. Freedom my ass.

In this day and age, the laws make fathers out to indentured servants, and forced out of their children's day to day lives. The laws are consistently abused in court, where women can use children as pawns or negotiating chips to abuse and get more from their exes. Read the briefs and find familiar themes - hints of abuse, hints of poor moral character, hints of being a helpless victim, amongst many others. It's become a legal playbook. I've read a brief once where an ex wife was going after her ex husband for more alimony. He had terminal cancer and hasn't been working for a year. Another is locked in to permanent alimony for the past 3 decades and he can't retire - tell me she couldn't have built a career at the age of 35? Look on the Internet on how women are maximizing their "payouts" - they're waiting to hit the 10 year mark for social security, the 25 year mark for permanent lifetime alimony, setting up separations such that they can "win" in divorce custody proceedings. In the UK, a woman recently won the right to pursue and received a payout from her ex some 20 years after their divorce based on earnings 100% post-divorce (he was penniless during the marriage). There is plenty of sympathy from the US, because with how the laws are stacked, it feels as if it could have happened here. Another story published in the Seattle Times, where a stay at home father had to spend $200k just to get primary. Second families also get treated like second class citizens. If it came down to a hospital bill for second children, or child support for the first - legally the first children will be treated with higher privilege. This is wholly unconstitutional, and far from pragmatic. Worst of all, I have many friends who are poor and find that the legal process is prohibitively expensive. They are setting up Go Fund Me's and other donation-based mechanisms just to maintain the right to see their kid. The fact that they're too poor to have this right is unjust. On the other end of the spectrum, I know many people making a comfortable income, yet can't survive without a partner or a family due to financial outcomes of divorce. An engineer having 0 home equity due to multiple refinances, cashing out 401k, and paying an unecessary amount just to preserve his right to see his child. A lot of these people are paying more than the median US income to an ex-spouse. There is no equality when it's expensive, and there is no equality when the laws don't presume it in the first place. This all needs to end. Default 50/50 parenting. Limit alimony to 4 years if the payee is under 40. Make alimony conditional. Incentivize working. Limit child support, and remove punitive measures on payers. Second families should have equal rights and financial priority. Hold adults accountable for their own independence (i.e. they should be self supporting). Get rid of automatic support increases when the payee's salary increases. Allow people more liberty to define the ter
