Man this system is a damn good one. Talk about job security. We are the only debters that cannot get Any break I have pay stubs all the way back to April 25, 1995 that's when my first garnishment started. We seperated on April 24, 1995. Yah the very next day my check got robbed. Well all these years I've been garnished with the paper work to prove it n the Welfare says I'm in debt to them at 33,000$ Well the welfare kept the garnishment going even when the Paracite got married n off the welfare. So she wasn't receiving the garnishment money becuase she stopped her Welfare But the big bad Welfare Kept taking. So now I'm stuck paying this money. Even though my case went to court. No luck. Good money scam who ever empowered this welfare to do all the stuff they are doing to us working class should be In our shoes for just one month. The neighbor he's 7 kids n all different victims She has a nice Lincoln navigator nice house n Party's all the time while her kids or should I say assets play in the streets She gets more $ off childsupport n foodstamps then I get working my but off n living a ligitamate life. I make 46k a year and am forced to pay a grand a month in support for one child. That's 12k a year. My ex has a bad work history and always gets passed up on raises, so her income will never go up, keeping my sop port high. Why should she try to better herself, she has me to give her a grand a month. I also pay support to another child. The laws in Arizona are corrupt. A grand a month for a three year old? Come on.REPORT COMMENTS

I don't mind paying my child support, I do mind that the laws are now designed to put fathers in perpetual debt by taking away there ability to get to work by seizing there driver's license or passport. I could have paid off my child support debt in one year as a overseas security contractor, but I was denied a passport and had my drivers license was suspended. I was threaten by a judge to make my or go to jail.REPORT COMMENTS

Facts: 1. The %20 CS for 1 child, %28 CS for 2 children is wrong. I'm not sure who was that smart person who invented this law!! 2. Most complains here sounds the same: a. Men getting screwed, women get it all. b. Women collect CS in addition to welfare. c. Men do not have enough money left after CS to live a decent life. They almost live like cows;- enough money to get food to stay alive to work more and pay CS to lazy women. There should be a CS bank account, that is sponsored by both parents 50/50. Money should be taken out by the mother (or, who ever has the custody) to pay for children food, cloths, books, blabla. This way the money is well spent on the children ONLY. Don't the court every time they screw a man, they say "This is done because is it better for the children". Right? Please copy/paste (modify) my comment and vote.. Good luck fellow cows (ops sorry men).REPORT COMMENTS

These gold digging women need to work a full time job, just like the fathers have to. they want all the rights to the children, but don't want to work. and another thing the money doesn't go on the children .These so called mothers blow the money on their self. How is that women rally, debate, and file suits for equal rights to be treated as equal gender. Then when it comes to issues such financial support from an ex spouse suddenly they're not so equal and the men have to sacrifice almost everything to support them.REPORT COMMENTS

The people who makes the laws really needs to take a "BIG LOOK" at this one. These unfair Child support laws only just keeps the noncustodial parent prisoners to the system. I have a 16 year old daughter, who had a baby while she was 15. Her mother has kept her out of my life for years. My son is 9 years old, and she does the same exact thing with him as well. Paying child support isn't helping the kids' relationships better with their noncustodial parent. It only worsens it. I'm asking All Real male and female in congress to change the system. Make it more helpful to the children and to the noncustodial parents. Congress get off that high horse and make real solutions for the people in this country. Let the laws lean towards the noncustodial paying parents and stop helping these bad parents continue to destroy our kids. It's so obvious to see this without a microscope. The noncustodial parents are suffering the most, this includes our children. DO something Congress... NOW IS THE TIME!REPORT COMMENTS

Where to start? Wow, good question. Having had to deal with the Warren County CSEA in the not so great state of Ohio, who, by the way, love to publicly pat themselves on the back for the sheer amount of money they extort from NCP's such as myself, I can honestly say that the system is still EXTREMELY gender biased and tilted 99.99% in the womans favor. I was laid off from my job of 8 years in 2008. I managed to keep up on my support payments for the 3 months I was unemployed. My new employer did not act in a timely manner in regards to filing paper work with the CSEA which basically amounted to causing me to be in arrears. "No big deal" I think to myself. "Its for my kids" so I have no problem paying it. When the arrearage was stopped by the CSEA I find out that I had been over charged $1500. When I asked how this happened the answer I got from them was I need to keep better track of this in the future. If my ex isnt getting her money from le theyre on me like white on rice but when its the other way around Im reponsible for tracking how much I have paid/owe? This is coming from an agency who states on their web page they are commited to treating both parties with fairness and respect. I went to court to recover my money only to have my support order increased! I have worked my tail off for the ten years I have been divorced from this wretched woman to be able to eat and maintain my meager existence while providing for my current wife and child. All the while my ex has moved from one house to the next to the next to the next. Each bigger than the previous one. She has vacationed at least once a year, had numerous new cars, tv's, extensive remodels on her homes etc. She cries broke in court, lies to the judge (which my attorney caught her in repeatedly without any consequence, the judge didnt care) yet she can afford all of this? Meanwhile my wife and I are lucky to have $20 between us the day before payday. Ive had to decide "gas or food" with that money alot of times. Ive had to go without food on occasion because the stale cereal, which is all we have, is going to be my 7 year old daughters dinner. I just recently found that my 15 year old son has been sleeping on an air matress for at least 6 months. My ex threw it out because it was too old and just hasnt been able to come up with the money to get him a new one. She gets $800 a month from me. She just returned from a weeks vacation in the islands of Lake Erie. She just moved into her new 3000 sqft home. And yet she cant afford a bed for our son? She owes $400+ in school fees for each of our two children. She hasnt paid them since GRADE SCHOOL! Nor has she ever once asked asked me to help pay any of these throughout that time. Our daughter will graduate in early 2014 but she will be unable to get her diploma until her fees are paid. This woman is living large off of my sweat and hard work to provide for my kids. I put in 60-70 hours a week on a regular basis. She works 40 on a good week yet shREPORT COMMENTS

I don't agree with the child support laws that have been placed in Tennessee. I don't have to pay but my husband does. I know a parent should pay for their children but not so much that they can't take care of the family they have in the home. My husband don't even get to see his other children cause the mothers hate him. They sit around their own homes making other children with convicted murders. At least one of them does. My husband don't bring enough home to even pay our water bill or fix our vehicle. I can't find work in our small town when there are no jobs to be had. I would have to go out of town and can't. Please do something about the laws. There are other families suffering to survive cause of the way the laws are. I don't like the laws cause I believe they are too strict for noncustodial parents. IT IS NOT RIGHT OR FAIR. I WOULD NEVER EVER BRING CHILD SUPPORT IN TO MY CHILD'S LIFE BECAUSE THE CHILDREN DO NEED BOTH PARENTS, NOT JUST ONE WHILE THE OTHER SITS IN JAIL. Parents sitting in jail are not making money. Some also lose jobs when they go to jail for not paying enough money. This is what is about to happen with my husband. IT WILL NOT BE FAIR TO MY DAUGHTER FOR THAT TO HAPPEN.REPORT COMMENTS

This is a letter I recently sent to SC Child Support Enforcement. Since that time the order has been terminated but I still have not gotten my money back. I also still have to deal with the credit issue cause by this order. I am joining this fight to change the way fathers are discriminated against. To whom this may concern: I am submitting this letter as a formal request for an administrative review of this case. I am currently a single dad with an 8 year old son and I believe, with cause, that I am being subjected to what I consider discriminatory treatment. My conclusion is based on facts surrounding this order, which was made while I was residing in a shelter with my then 5year old son. I was employed at $10 an hour but ordered to pay $71 weekly. I have recently been informed by Gayle Watson, attorney for the child enforcement division, that the original calculation of the order was incorrect and should have been $46 monthly. She says that an amendment will be made. However, that does not remedy the significant financial hardship my son and I have endured for the past year or so. Our ability to obtain personal transportation has even been hindered by this debt. As a result, we must resort to public transportation which decreases my opportunities regarding employment, as well as increasing an already strained budget. Public transportation cost us approximately $180 monthly. My entire monthly budget comes primarily from unemployment benefits of $1200, which will soon be exhausted. We also receive $190 in food stamps but with rent being $600, utilities totally about $150, and a $50 phone bill, transportation cost are major for us. I cannot even afford child care at present, and we are on the verge of being evicted. Yet I am expected to pay child support to a woman who is being provided for by the state? I believe this is unfair and blatantly biased. With this request, I am not only contesting this entire order, I am also requesting the immediate return of the over $1300 tax refund check that was taken from me, and I am requesting an administrative review for the following reasons: 1. Improper delivery of the summons. According to the South Carolina rules of civil procedure, the summons must be delivered to the defendants? dwelling house or usual place of abode. I was currently residing in a shelter with my son during the time the summons was said to have been sent. I provided proof of my residence in a shelter but Ms Watson claims her records say I resided where the summons was sent (1835 S. Conestoga St.) until April of 2011. I also provided a copy of a lease agreement as proof that my son and I moved into a rental apartment in October of 2010. Obviously Ms. Watson has false information but refuses to admit that. 2. There was an undue burden placed on us due to the fact that I was residing in Philadelphia, my son was enrolled in school at the time, and I was recently employed. How was I reasonably expected to make itREPORT COMMENTS

As a non-custodial parent currently being screwed by this horrifyingly unfair system, I can't say enough about how this needs to change. Due to the onerous financial burden placed on me by this ridiculous system, I'm about to lose my home. What they're taking from me, especially once medical coverage is factored in, will leave me well below the poverty line and completely unable to pay my bills. But, of course, since I'm not the custodial parent, that doesn't matter. Just so long as my ex gets her blood money. Never mind that her whole purpose in getting pregnant was all about money, since she bailed out on the relationship and moved to another state as soon as she was pregnant. The system, as currently designed, make it nearly impossible for a non-custodial parent to make a living and have a life. It needs to be changed, but I have little hope of that, since the government doesn't care about the people - just the money.REPORT COMMENTS

I've signed this petition before and nothing has changed other than the number increasing. Yet I have written letters to Senates in regards to this nationwide issue 3 months ago and haven't heard any feedback. Not even a thank you consideration letter. Overall, they are all involved in this corruption and really don't give a damn about us. They don't care that we, the responsible noncustodial parents' get treated as a deadbeat parent and that we are living in poverty and trying to makes ends meet. If a resolution on this was resolved, they would be left out of the money pool that the CS system gets from federal aid. The CS system is the biggest funded system in the U.S by federal money. THEY DON'T CARE! As long as they get a cut, they will keep enforcing the corrupted to be as it is and treat us as slaves to pay for CS or be sent to jail. Again, THEY DON'T CARE!! The U.S. is just full of GREED and POWER! and as they claim: "The American Dream." There is not such thing just hypocrisy.REPORT COMMENTS

Aug 19th, 2013Someone from Austin, TX writes:
Some things to take into consideration when changing this law are that suspending a parent's drivers license or putting him or her in prison will ultimately result in less support for the child and fewer tax dollars. Also, any public benefits the parent receives for the child like food stamps should be taken into account when determining child support payments. Any person wishing to receive child support should also be required to work 20 hours a week so that both parents are supporting the child. This should only be waved if the custodial parent is on welfare because he or she is limited from working by an injury or illness. If a court ordered custody arrangement mandates that the child stay with the non-custodial parent for any period, that parent should be able to deduct necessities like food, clothing, and health care paid during the child's stay from his or her child support payment. Luxury items or entertainment could not be deducted, and the parent would need to provide physical documentation of the money spent. Likewise, the parent receiving child support payments would need to provide documentation as to how the money was spent, and the non-custodial parent should be allowed to withhold payments until he or she receives this documentation. Further, any party who engages in fraud such as not reporting income, over reporting expenses, or misusing money meant for the child's support should have some sort of consequence that doesn't impair a parent from supporting the child or negatively affect the child. This consequence would be for parents paying and receiving child support. Further, the child should have a say in all support and custody arrangements, and should have access to an appeal process if they have a problem with a decision that has been made or with how money has been used to support them. Lastly, the child support should always go to the person who is actually supporting the child. For instance, if the child is living with another relative or guardian who has not chosen to fully adopt the child or assume full parental responsibilities, the parent paying child support should send the money to that person. That person would then have to return documentation so the parent paying child support could file a dispute if the money was being used incorrectly.REPORT COMMENTS
