I am mother of two with a stepson.I work two jobs. My husband works full time. I asked for 50/50 rights to my kids and no CS. While my husbands ex wife sits home, and always is worried when will be picking up my stepson before she even gets him. Which she only has 2-3 times a week, and never a weekend. We pay for 100% insurance,and co payments.She receives $900.00 a month to have him 10-12 days a month while my husband only brings home $2700 a month. Something needs to change with the CS laws.REPORT COMMENTS

Child support in NYS is severely disproportionate and needs changed! Personal experience with my significant other he pays out more than half of his paychecks. He makes 65000 per year, brings home 18000 and pays his ex-wife 27000 before taxes. Not to mention 65% for childcare, 65% for healthcare and 65% for any other additional fees. NYS is out of control and treats their fathers ridiculously. I divorced in VA and recieve less than 1/4 of what he pays. I am not sure what NYS's goal is.... but all I see coming from this system are charges for fathers that cant pay, increase of innocent men in jail, fathers that are forced to give up their children purely bc they cant afford it. NYS seems to want their single fathers to live in homeless shelters and take the bus to work. Which is totally off par bc the state wants their fathers to provide a proper home to be able to see their kids. Does NOT make sense!! Sorry NYS but your laws need to be redone when it comes to the calculations of child support that you seem to think are fair. Especially in a case where there was a cheating mother that ended the marriage, or a mother that had nothing to do with their kids til they were 3. Its an outrage. I was raised by a single father and would have had it no other way.REPORT COMMENTS

I am a single mother of three children. I do not receive child support for my two younger children. My oldest child lives with his father which I pay child support to. I work two jobs to support all my children. It is frustrating to know that the courts and attorney general do not give each case an individual status. I, because of my high risk pregnancies, fell behind on my child support and they took their time to adjust my payments. My oldest child's father makes more than enough to supply my son when I am physically and financially unable to do so. I think the system is corrupt and as long as we allow the government to do what God is intended to do we will continue to fail at teaching our children what is right and what is wrong or how to correspond with each other without the government being involved. In conclusion I want to say regardless of what happens I will always take care of my children even if that means my own suffering to make sure all of them are financially covered through the failed system. Therefore, there is NO excuse for not supporting your children.REPORT COMMENTS

I am disabled and i have to pay child support through ssi,i want to go out and work,even though i am limit and couldnt make much.my ex wife uses the child support to pay rent ,bills etc and still comes to me for half of the kids needs,or at times to pay for them all.she left me after i was crippled. I have had to sell everything i have ever owned before my crash to help take care of my kids because she is lazy and thinks child support is to pay her bills,and i should still have to pay to take care of the kids.I know this sounds dumb but i am willing to live on the street to give my kids whatever they need even paying child support also.it sucks i am in a wheelchair and still i am the one that provides most of the support for my kids,i am in bed most of the time,and if i tried to work she would go after any extra money she could get,even if i had to live in a box in my wheelchair. yes the law needs to change and the women or men that get child support should have to prove how they spend the money on the kids,by showing what they purchased with the funds.not paying their rent,thats their own home and should pay with their own funds period and the excuse that if they didnt the kids wouldnt have a roof over their head,should would mean that the should have to give up the kids to the other parent.REPORT COMMENTS

Sorry for your situation Miss Warran Pa. But as you can see after reading these post on how the welfare is into soul snatching ! Now you can see why your kids fathers can't be found. Maybe you should try a different way than useing the state to collect. The welfare probrobly already destroyed these men's lives already. Read the post of all these men n women across America Not only are you struggling but ALL of us on this site are too. Try getting the welfare off them and erase these men's arrears and you might see them come back to life once there not slaves to the welfare any more and give them back there rights to be fathers N get that welfare out from between the fathers n there kids. How can the non custodial parent be audited ANYTIME and be subjected to owing more but the custodial parent can only be review until the date of court filing? This whole system is geared towards women pumping out kids and having a GUARANTEED payday till the child is 18 or even older in some cases! I have two children that for the last almost 10 years I have been rising by myself, and supporting them financially alone as well. My son that is almost 10 has maybe in the past 10 years gotten 400.00 in child support from his father because his father has chosen drinking and women over him. North Carolina DSS can?t find him because he only has a P.O box for an address, so he is unfound and unable to be made to pay support. Then I have a 2 yr old daughter that he father because of some stupid health reason that he clearly got the court and his doctor to sign off on he has been pardoned from paying support on my daughter. So a mother of 2 that works 35 hrs a week at $9.50 an hour, I support my children alone, with no help from my domestic relations office to help me get support for my children to provide them better with what they need. It is bull, my kids deserve better and then because nobody is willing to help me my kids suffer, I can do with going without, but it isn?t far for my children to have to go without when they did nothing to deserve going without anything they need!REPORT COMMENTS

I have to listen to 3 woman at work wine about how they do not get enough child support. One gets 900 the other 1500. Really what is their to wine about? Woman work full time to and want to be equals. But when it comes to child support they cry the blues . Some girls have it bad but most do not. 18 year jail sentence is what a good father gets when a woman decides to take the child and be with a other man. That is what happened to me! I do not see my child , I pay 550 a month and I have no criminal record or violence. The mother thinks it is right as she chooses it to be this way. I a rambled but this subject is very unfair. I have my (2) children 50% of the time. They alternate weeks between our homes. It seems to me that with that arrangement we should have equal financial responsibility. As it is, I pay a whole lot in child support plus I pay all medical costs. My ex refuses to get a job and lives off the child support, even when she has every other week child free. Since she uses the money to live off their isn't a lot left over to spend on the kids. This is so unfair it leaves me bewildered.REPORT COMMENTS

I am 20 years old. I had a child at 16... the mother was 18. She took the child from me claiming I was not fit at the time. Well the courts didn't seem to care that at age 16 your in high school still. They don't care they literally marked up child support over the years no im in 4 grand in debt and they want me to sit in jail for 60 days... this I find absolutely ridiculous. I am 20 and going to college the mother is 22 has been married once and had another baby and is divorced and is no getting remarried and is trying to have that guy adopt our child. She works at mc donalds and literally is not doing anything for her self she works part time and the courts had me paying 526 dollars in child support. This kind if situations need to stop I have no money at all for my self or to live my bank account is at 2 dollars and my back is against the wall.REPORT COMMENTS
