I pay 700 a month and have 50/50 custody. My ex does not work but watches kids for cash and donates her eggs and claims she has no income. She is currently on vaca in Vegas right now. Must be nice!

I am a ten year marine corps vet. I have three children, and my own home. My ex decided she wasn't happy anymore and left, taking the kids with her. I was still in the marines at the time and couldn't move from where I was stationed. Now I'm out honorably out of the military, my ex still has my kids and i'm about to loose everything I have because of ridiculous child support laws. I love my children, and I am not a "dead beat dad" I can support them on my own. She has no job, and pawns the children off on whoever will take them. I was left here with all of the bills and responsibilities, and cannot pick up and move to go fight for my children. I have a full time job, and still after child support the state is making me pay, am broke. Something needs to be done.

In Washington State they calculate child support based on the income of the non-custodial parent, but do not take into account the income or lack thereof of the custodial parent. The mother of our granddaughter is unemployed out of choice, she receives help from the state, and her father owns the house she lives in and pays all her bills. Our son pays child support monthly and on time and also has his daughter Thursday through Sunday every week. His ex, (they were not married), continues to insist on extra cash and clothes from our son for our granddaughter or she threatens to withhold visitation. She is a known drug addict and felon and yet no documentation is required from her as to how she uses the several hundred dollars in child support she receives each month; not to mention the extra she extorts out of our son. It's time that child support laws quit catering to the mother just because of her sex. Being a woman doesn't automatically make you the best parent for the child. The child support system for most states is drastically flawed and needs to be reviewed and revised.

Child support in GA is nothing short of "rape" of finances. I have gone from having my kids 85% of the time (proven in court) to every other weekend. Now I'm paying $1,400 in child support.....I DO NOT make that kind of money. I DID work a special job where I made a "one time" amount a few months before the final custody decree...and that amount was included in the calculation. THE LAW SHOULD NO ALLOW CHILD SUPPORT TO BE CALCULATED FOR ANYTHING BEYOND A PERSON'S GUARANTEED AMOUNT OF WORK HOURS!!! PERIOD!!! I am NOT guaranteed ANY overtime on my job, but the STATE OF GEORGIA calculates on the amount that they think you MAY make! RIDICULOUS!!!!! THIS IS UNFAIR TO GOOD DADS (or mothers who are going through the same situation, but rare).

I have 2 kids from 2 different girls. The first, who I have my son with, has 2 other kids with her current bf, and barely started working. She can afford to barely work, pay rent and have 2 other kids. The second, whom I have my daughter with, works but hardly watches our daughter. Instead she will have her mom or grandma watch her for weeks at a time while she "has fun". All this while I barely make rent. I get $211 a week after child support. I work a full time job, 40hrs a week and I get paid $10.75 an hour. That's basically half my check. I understand doing my part, but how am I suppose to live?

Child support is very unfair. don't get me wrong if the parent is not doing what he have to do for his child/children then by all means child support is on the right. but i know many fathers that devote their lives for their children, I'm one of them. those parent that are day in and day out since there child was born in the front line of being a parent shouldn't and i repeat shouldn't be going through this. the system is lazy and it doesn't investigate to see what this parents that you are so quick to put in child support do for his children. how much time the parent spent with the children. there are parents the have the same thing for his child or children that the mother have in there own house as per cloth, a room, food. etc..why if this parents offer the same that the other parent if offering for the child how is so easy to pick support for one parent. it looks like support is not need it. since bother parent are providing for this child individually. the government just rather put a number and stereotype, condemn many parents to this stander rule. while they make one parent, the parent job easy. they other parent is struggling

North Carolina child support laws desperately need to be reformed. My husband paying 25% of his income to his x wife, all while she is going to school to obtain yet another degree!! Has more of an education than he does, but refuses to work! Has A new car, food stamps, medicaid, and child support! And now wants to know when my husband is going to put them on his health insurance at work. He has only been at his new job 60 days, and she is already asking about the health insurance, which is very exspensive. When do these women, have to get up and actually help pay for the children, that helped to create? Why does the non custodial parents have to do everything in some cases! We are looking at getting second jobs, in order to pay our bills, and to compinsate for my self employed X, that doesnt pay! There has got to be help somewhere!

Child support has ruined many lives here in Oklahoma. There's a law suit out now for DHS due to taking more of a cut then they should. Can't wait to see a check come from DHS addressed in my name. This has to be the biggest scheme the state of oklahoma has ever pulled!

I am in the same boat as most of the men except I am the mother of 3 who had 80 percent custody of my children and because my X deceided he wanted to go to school and stop drinking prior to our divorce I had to pay him almost 2300 a month in child and spousal support since I was the bred winner during our marriage as I fell behind because the stress of it all put me out of work for a short 3 month time and relocated away from him because he had enough money to hire private investigators to follow me the court ordered me back child support and spousal support based on the income I used to make prior to move? By the way I had to get courts and his permission to relocate with children which I was granted by both. Now I am 30,000 in arrears have my wadges garnished by 50 percent had to move back to his neighborhood and struggling to feed myself and my children. When I went back to court they once again based my support orders on what my income was in Southern California not even on the job I currently have in Northern California. I literally have 7$ in my bank account and wondering if ill have enough gas money to get to work tomorrow to pay my x husband again and not call farther behind. I am not a dead beat parent I am a college graduate nurse by profession I just don't understand how I have to pay him when I have the children. We now have a 50 50 custody and I still pay him close to a 1000 a month last time we were at court he brought his own calculator to run the numbers to figure out how much he can get. He is now working and he was worried he was going to have to pay me which he didn't. I have never asked for anything from him money or otherwise I just don't understand how the courts can calculate these numbers so stupidly.

System is flawed for hard working Fathers who would do anything to have their children and just give money to others so they can spend it how they see fit. Yet they dont buy their children shoes clothing and then want the man to cover the cost.

I am literally broken. You all sit in your comfy chairs and sign ******** not realizing the lives you are destroying. You make it impossible for a father to live while the ex wife is buying new shoes and clothes with the money. You are pieces of shit. and I wonder how many men have jumped off a bridge on their way to work after the painful reality sets in that these ridiculous percentages you take off gross income will never afford th the opportunity to get ahead ever again. Their blood is on your hands, though I'm sure you don't give a shit.

Support needs to be regulated. It needs to be put into account that is then the parent that gets the support is given a card and can only buy things listed. Things that help support the kid. Not the ex.

Child support is ruining lives it should be fair and not unjust. I am don't against child support , but in my current situation my son mother has a masters degree and lives at home she makes about 65k a year and I still have to pay her 860 dollars amount she purchased too different cars since my checks have been started to be garnish. While I am struggling to pay my bills I have a wife and two other kids. At times I do not have money for food. I feel like I am being forced into poverty and failure. I have credit cards bills like crazy my utilities bills are all over due I am barely managing to keep up with my mortgage payment all I want them to do is reduce my payments so I could provide for my family and take care of my son.
