If you are a mother and decide to keep your kids it's given you do that but if fathers didn't agree to be a part of the baby from the beginning the mother has the full responsibility!! If she wanted it in the first place she should make sure she's ready for all that!!! Fathers should have a right to opt out!! If mothers decide to keep it its on them to make sure the baby will be taken care of not to tie the men up with what they want just because the men don't want to be with the woman!!! Child support is stupid!! It only happens here in the US!! Not in most countries!! If women can't take care of their kids they don't deserve to have kids and ask for support!!! What a joke post from the Cape Coral FL. Common denominator is you chose to spread your legs to make kids(s). You have the choice to abort, send to adoption, or drop off at a firehouse with no financial penalty. If all that kid work is too much for you, then you should probably give the kids to the father or dump off for adoption. Whats sick is too many ladies using this corrupt court system thinking they are entitled to a free ride. If kids were not money bags, there would be less kids and more abortions Men deserve an opt out just like ladies have. This petition requests that after the youngest child is 5 and starts school, mothers should be required to work part-time to collect there (their) child support. You don't need a petition. Mothers who prepare three meals a day and after school snacks, shop, wash laundry, prepare clothes for school, check homework, buy school supplies, arrange and take children to doctors, dentists, orthodontists, eye doctors on a regular basis, take care of sick children, make appointments and take children for haircuts, take children to sports practice, music or dance lessons, art lessons, after school activites, arrange and supervise playdate and parties, buy presents and take kids to other kids' parties, clean house, take care of home repairs so the children have a safe environment, keep the car running to continue the taxi service being provided for your children, supervise computer and TV use, and make sure that the kids get to bed on time and get up on time to make the school bus in the morning - and schedule the day around being home when the school bus drops off the kids after school... whew... a part-time job? It's been 5 years of fighting with courts and jumping threw ten thousand hoops spending almost every dime I make on legal fees to make the courts happy and they still refuse to let me see my child. Top it off every person involved with this lawyers, judges , doctors, and therapists have all been woman. And they all scream for equality. In addition, I pay for all health insurance costs, sports cost, etc...The state takes this $800.00 directly out of my checks each month. I had no choice in selection of expensive daycare. The mother, a lawyer, has chosen not to work for large firm and claims $25k income as solo practitioner which is $12k less than what I'm paying for daycare. I have an ex wife that did exactly this for many years. We have two children together and she didn't work at all until the youngest was 7. My oldest was 9. And to top it off she was married again and they where struggling to pays bills on just his income. I believe raising children takes a group effort. I also believe that it is unfair to make one suffer more than an another when that one is not putting forth more effort to help their own situation. Then fathers have to be legally responsible to pay money to support while the mothers sit at home. Some just want to drop off the kids and pick them up everyday from school is why they don't work. They could still find a part time job between those hours of schools. Ever think fathers would like to be able to do the same. They put people in jail for failing to pay or is behind on child support oat tax payer money for the person they through in jail. The court plainly violates the rights of people if they choose to follow the constitution and the bill of rights that the foundries fathers built the country on. As a woman I am here to say that the collections from child support DO NOT serve anyone's best interest! Please do what is necessary to repeal these RIDICULOUS laws! I am currently in a committed relationship with someone whose wages are garnished to support someone else's DRUG ADDICTION. As a result, my partner is taking home LESS THAN MINIMUM WAGE, and getting by (even with my living wage) has been an utter nightmare. I hate to say that he has the potential to bring home more money if he were just LAID OFF all together and started collecting unemployment! His beloved son is having to grow up in a single-wide trailer in an adjoining state with two other siblings under the supervision of an unemployed good-for-nothing. She literally sits on her bum all day popping pain pills. Why should he be paying for this nonsense!? To top all of this, he has absolutely NO VISITATION RIGHTS! There was no history of abuse when he was married to this woman; she found out that she was pregnant shortly after they agreed to divorce. The judge mistakenly complied with her request to have any rights to his son waived, and she got it, just because she bore the pregnancy. We want custody of his son once we are married, and are certain that we can provide a much more stable environment for him, but are only able to dream of such a thing since we can't afford lawyer that could advocate for us between state lines. However, child support is very unfair in just about every case but let's push forward and let our kids be our driving force for the new year!! In Indiana the child support laws are awful. Something needs to be done, they say both parties are responsible but only one party has to carry the majority of the cost. I do not believe it's fair to only make the father repay the DNA test. Both the mother and the father created the child so they should split the cost of the DNA test repayment. I also strongly feel that if the custodial parent makes the choice to receive TANF it should be their responsibility to pay it back not the noncustodial parent. Receiving TANF is a choice not a requirement. I was told by the clerk that since the mother had to receive TANF it was my responsibility to pay it back. I think that is absolutely ridiculous, there are plenty of people with children who do not make the choice to receive government assistance, so I do not see how they can say she had to file for assistance. Child support laws need to be fair and considerate of the noncustodial parents financial situation. I find the child support laws to be one big contradiction. They say the noncustodial parent has a responsibility to care for the child as well, which I do agree with, but how can they place a higher value on the child that lives outside of the home then a child that lives in the home? When over 50% of my take-home is going towards child support that makes it extremely difficult to support the children that live under my roof. The court needs to get rid of this unfair advantage. If there are children in the home that needs to be taken into consideration it's not fair that I am able to completely support a child outside of the home and I'm barely making ends meet to support the child in the home. Responsible noncustodial parents should not be punished for trying to do their best and that's exactly how the child support system is set up in Indiana. The government needs to stop saying that the children need to be taken care of because if that was the case you would be doing more to make sure that the children are actually being taken care of and the mother isn't just using the money for her own personal needs and you would also make sure that all children are being taken care of not just the ones outside of the home.REPORT COMMENTS

I have kids 50 percent of time, and still have to give her well over half my take home pay, while she earns up to 5000 per month on her own. THIS IS MY REWARD for becoming a doctor, having 3 great kids and being faithful husband. I can no longer contribute to retirement or college funds. I am reduced to a slave to her and the state. I feel that because a father grosses an income of 1300 or more a week that a support payment shouldnt exceed more than 170$ a week, especially if the child does not require diapers or formula (age 4) while the mother works in retail making 30k a yr and lives with family members that help support her while she collects 1200 a month in support! Child support and alimony is cruel punishment to men. It should be abolished like slavery! These ancient laws probably served a purpose at one point in time, but now they are just obnoxious. Now a days women cheat and take off with another man unexpectedly like my ex wife did yet I'm forced to still pay her thousands of dollars ever month. How does that work? It's the most absurd thing I have ever encountered in my life. The law itself is so dysfunctional. For example, it's based off your gross income vs. your net income. Why does that matter? Well... what I'm left with (net income) is very different after taxes, 401k, health insurance etc. There was a time shortly after my divorce that I was eating tuna out of a can for dinner and I'm a Vice President at a publicly traded company. It should be based off net income AND take into consideration all of your bills. But honestly it just need to be abolished all together. In addition, if child support does remain it should at least for God sake be based on the average cost to raise a child and not the mans income. That's why you see crazy things on the news like basket ball players paying 1.2 million a month to their ex wives. A kid would never need that much money!!! That's crazy! Some liberal lawyers will say "oh it needs to be that way so they maintain the same lifestyle." I say NO to that! It should be based on basic needs only. Sandwiches, book bag, shoes, etc. If you did it that way all men might only be paying $200 per month vs. thousands of dollars in both alimony and child support. When I was growing up and heard men speak who we're going through a divorced and I thought they were just bitter but now experiencing it first hand I see how unfair it is. What a nightmare! hey my name is erniesha cliett i have two beautiful kids my daughter is 10 years old and my son is 2 years im sharing my story for the first time to the world only my family know whats going with 2 years ago i met my son father when i first met him he lied about everything about him he lied about having kids i thought my son was going to be his first children come to find out that he have 4 other kids that he do not do for plus my son which is his baby after a year of being with everything took a turn for the worst he starting cheating and fighting me on a daily basic and then i got put out of my apartment that he say he was paying the rent and bills but he wasnt after getting put out i had to send my daugther to atlanta to live with her father and me and my son stayed with family member until i fought a job and got my own apartment im reaching out for help because the man that i have a son have 5 kids in all and he don't do nothing for them all i have reach out to the social security and child support office and come to find out that this man get a disability check which means that the check he gets is not entitled to his kids so meaning he can how many kids he want and dont have to take care of them i have reach out to different child support office about getting help for my son and they all told me the same thing that he is not entitled to take care of his today im sharing my story because i have done everything i can do and im at my breaking point i really need help with my child its hard being a single parent trying to find a babysitter while i go to work trying to pay bills and support all of us yes i do have family and a boyfriend who help me out at times with my son but its only so much they can do to help im a hardworking and very independent but i just cant take anymore i wasnt going to tell anybody about my story but my family beg me to because we just cant understand how is this man having kids and cant take care of them if there anybody out there that is going thru the same thing or know someone who is please i ask please help me and my son i have doing everything to get help but i have no luck maybe its someone out there that can help me please my name is erniesha cliett thank you advanceREPORT COMMENTS

Child support laws are completely unfair. The geniuses supposedly created a fair and just model to formulate child support amounts, but those very same geniuses left several loop holes in the process. They come up with the amount it will take to support x number of children and then they figure out how much the man will pay based on the mothers income and cost to raise the children. The problem is here, if the mother quits her job they supplement the loss income by taking more from the man! Who cares about his financial responsibilities and the fact that he still has to provide furnishings, clothing and food for when the children are with him. Let's not all forget that they're making us pay too much in the 1st place. I make 14 an hour and I have to pay 800 a month for 2 children. It doesn't cost 800 a month to provide for 2 children unless your stupid with money and buy brand name clothing and like to splurge. My ex hasn't worked in over 16 years, has had 4 kids by 3 different men. Her job is to pop out children and she gets paid monthly for it. My son has children from past women two of these women are asking for child support more than he makes a month he has one child living with him and has another coming with his wife they are losing everything because of this it is not fair these women sit on their butts one woman has four children three fathers when does it stop they should be forced to work and reduce the hardship on the father's the laws now say pay the woman to sit on her butt screw the man and his new lifeREPORT COMMENTS
