I have kids in texas and me and mother have a really good relationship now because it's best for the kids but the system is corrupt we have tryed many times to stop the child's support because we keep them a equal amount of time but they ask her did I threaten her and all kind of stuff and why do u want to stop it it and she said she have cancer and she didn't know how much longer she can take the kemo it's taking a toll on her and they said no we can't stop it and the only reason I can see is that I live in another state but it's crazy the mother has the say so on what she want but when I call they keep giving me the run around and when I got in a accident they would not reduce the back pay for the couple of year I was out of work she told them several of times that she didnt want it and I take care of my kid but they said they want it who is it for the kids r the system something needs to b done about this it's not being handle right but they will threaten u and tell u they going to put u in jail like that's really going to solve something really that's a easy way out that I will take. Now that mean u have to take care of me now do that make any sense.

in missouri, the mom is making nothing and child support is set. If mom goes to work she can now petition to have child support increased. Why? Why does the cp making more money also increase what the ncp pays? That simply should not happen. Also if the cp denies visits the ncp has to spend $150 or more to fight to have that time made up. We should not have to pay to see our kids. The entire court process should not drag on 18 months to determine custody. 4 diff trial continuations should not happen. And in the mean time the temp order expired and the cp could do whatever desired. You should not have to pay a lawyer and court fees thousands just to see your kids. You start off in the negative, have to pay all child support, medical, plus costs for your visitation and as soon as you get a lil behind they file contempt. Now what do we do, take overtime or a second job, no cuz then the cp will try and raise your support since your income increased. Do we just not pay for necessities to pay the support? and while we struggle the other parent isnt working, making more in disability, necac, food stamps, than i do in income, using school and crisis nurseries to care for the kids, only giving visits when she needs a break, and somehow im the bad guy bc i cant afford my child support which goes directly to her weed guy.

Today is my 15 year old daughter's birthday. I did not find out about her until she was 10 years old. My child's mother chose to keep her existence a secret to be spiteful. This behavior was rewarded by her receiving a 500 dollar check a month after I was ordered to pay child support. I asked about visitation and was told by the texas oag employee who was laughing and smiling that that was a separate issue and I would have to hire an attorney. She receives free section 8 housing, food stamps, and has a live in boyfriend. She refuses to work and receives free healthcare for herself and my daughter. I have to pay for Healthcare for my daughter so she has 2 insurance plans. I have never met my daughter. I have no address on her because they filed me as a threat if I am supplied with the address and any info to my daughters whereabouts. She coaches my daughter to disrespect me because I refuse to rekindle a relationship with her. These child support laws are unconstitutional and unfair.

I work full time and have a college degree. My ex works under the table, gets food stamps, and lives in income based housing. I informed the child support office of this, and the fact that she can buy cigarettes, drugs, and tattoos, to which she replied "So she cheats the system? How's that any concern of yours or mine?"

The css agency don't care about the other parent(men)! They will charge us defendant (men) whatever price they want, regardless of what we send back to them about our declaration of expense. The agency is very unfair!

I work a minimum wage job, part time and can barely afford to pay my bills. My ex is on welfare and doesn't seem to understand how to get a job. I've sold everything I own, practically. I'm working just to pay this child support. It's depressing and overwhelming. I understand that this is my child too but after 15 years my ex hasn't held a job! Why isn't the state making these welfare rats get jobs?! 15 years and no employment is ridiculous. I'm feel like I'm paying for my ex to be on permanent vacation.

The formula that most states use, pa I'm familiar with, should be more personalized to fit each case not determined by an income formula. The funds that the party collecting support recieves should be monitored like an other benefit. Example would be a percentage broken down for each aspect of raising a child. An allowance for food, housing, clothing and a small portion for misc. Individuals who spend support on anything else should be held accountable by law.

Child support laws are harsh. It should be an obligation for both parents to support their child (ren), but it's normally the father who suffers, facing unfair prosecution and imprisonment, while the mother receives benefits from the burden of the tax payers. A reduction should be set in place for men paying child support, since normally after support is paid, the fathers simply can not afford simple costs of living, and therefore are unfairly pushed into poverty. Men have to live too.

Then they take your drivers license away at the drop of a dime while the government will basically give they sorry*****a car, home, and food stamps. We don't get the benefit of a doubt on anything in Arkansas. I'm almost done paying I'm about to run through the tape in 6 mos.

It takes two to conceive a child, each parent should equally have to contribute financially for the upbringing of the child. There is absolutely no excuse for deadbeat parents who virtually work the system ~seriously to force one parent to be totally financially responsible is insanity! The system is broken,my boyfriend pays 28% of his income carries health insurance as well as pays copay, purchases every single thing his kids need including haircuts.Meanwhile his soon to be x lounges in her pajamas all day, refusing to even look for work. Collects food stamps and we're here eating peanut butter and jelly sandwiches barely able to pay our rent and monthly bills. Yet,he will possibly have license suspended or possibly go to jail should he not pay her support. She has no rent to pay and lives with her two adult freeloading kids who are paying only the utilities riding out a foreclosure. Basically they are all over there being squatters, living their American dream. It's just Wrong, our only hope is justice prevails here soon!

I honestly feel it's unfair that the woman gets more favor from the judge, state etc. it's wrong that she gets assistance with almost everything and we as fathers get nothing.

I learned a few months ago that my daughter has not lived with her custodial parent for the passed 4 years and yet i am forced to pay support to this custodial parent and my child doesnt receive the money ment her, this seems fraudulent to me and nothing is done to this parent, but if i miss a payment my*****gets locked up.

The child support law needs updated it is so unfair and unjust. Maryland goes by the "shared income" guideline which means they calculate income together. The problem is even if both parents share equal amount of time (week off week on) the parent who makes the most is obligated to pay the other parent. They don't factor in debt, or bills. So we have a mother who receives 1200$ A month. 500$ from my husband 325$ from another man and 375$ from another. My husband has her first child, which she had an affair carrying another mans baby. They do not calculate the other child support or any cash assistance or food stamps as income. She sits home, doesn't work, has no bills because she lives in housing so her rent is free. She gets 500$ a month for the two weeks she has her daughter and my husband also pays medical insurance. They claim the child should have the same economic status for both parents which is ridiculous. It is not my husbands responsibility to make her work, but since she doesn't he has to pay also he was unable to get full custody because we couldn't prove she was unfit!!!!!!!
