My house caught fire and also my truck was in the fire as well. I lost my job just fell on hard times. I ask my child mother to put a hold on cs so i can get my truck fix and buy clothes due to the fire. She said no. Now that i am unable to pay her cs and she going threw a divorce she want to lock me up. I explain to her that i can pay her directly but i cant afford to pay what the courts order me to pay. She said no. I also ask what does my daughter need she say that what cs is for. So my child doesnt need anything you just want money bc the court going to make me pay you and i cant do nothing about it. Long story short she want me to pay her bill.

I am filing for Disability, My ex called my Child Support Judge and told her I already had SSI which was a lie. Back in 2001, I was living in Memphis, my job took me to Portland Texas to dredge an Island. While I was in Texas, Arkansas served me in Memphis for 1 child and raised my child support on my oldest child. Without my knowledge at all. I ended up moving to West Chester PA. where I got a job at a Cable Company. While in West Chester, Memphis and Arkansas both garnished my Paycheck. I made 150 dollars for 2 weeks (80 Hours) of work. A 1 bedroom apartment was 1100 dollars a month. I couldn't afford Car Insurance, Tags, and ended up losing 45 pounds. The stress was so great on my relationship. I ended up leaving her. I became ill and she abused me and of course I had no Insurance to go to the doctor. My mother told me there was a free clinic in Kansas City called KCFREE. They helped me get medicaid and Food Stamps. I have gained back my weight finally. Arkansas just sent me a letter saying that they will take Income Tax, Drivers License, Property and anything else I have. I truthfully have nothing else for them to take. I have been to Court now over 10 times here in Missouri. I thought Federal Laws would protect me if I was filing for ssdi/ssa. They don't, they make you come to court all the time . My family is broke now because of me and I feel like a failure. My next Court date is November 10th. Mom's car is broke down now and I am relying on a friend to take me.

How can I have 50/50 custody of my two girls and a quarter or my take home pay goes to child support? My ex has a job but I make $12k more than her a year. I'm carring the insurance on top of that for the girls. To top it off she moved out of my house to move in with a married man. What a screwed up system.

Child support should be for taking care of the child not the Mother of that child. There should be a set amount it cost to take care of a child and both parents should have to split that amount. Child support shouldn't be $200 a week for one child and only $26 per week for another. Every child should be the same amount depending on age. As for visitation, when you walk into court it should be split equally unless there are reasons that it shouldn't be that way. The child is no more the Mother's then the Father's. The Mother should not automatically get custody and the Father only gets visitation especially when the Father's home is a better home environment. The current laws for child support and visitation is ridiculous!

It is not my job to support my child's mother. I will and do support my child but in no way should I ever be forced to pay for her to lay on the couch all day and choke down cigarettes. It is almost comical to my sexiest female job to rape my wages and denie me equal time with my child.

I feel like its unfair. Men have bills of their own and still have to give away money to mothers who have multiple kids by other men. So the support is paying for my child, her other kids and her. My daughter shouldn't have to go through her support being taken from her. System is to fail the man, which needs to change. Men need help, we get labeled as deadbeats, looked as if we cant afford the child, license suspended and jailtime. Women who need help and cannot afford a child is given all type of benefits no negativity towards them.. Something has to give!

I once paid $1,000 a month for child support plus medical. I went to trial and won against the mother because she is incompetent. I have had sole legal custody since 2011. I gave her 5 years to get her life back in order. She hasn't held a job since 2009. She has 2 more kids with two other men, none of which she sees or pays anything for. I filed for child support last month 10/01/15 and went to a conference...apparently she is on SSI and they are unable to order her to pay support. In the mean time I have to deal with her crap while I get a measly $120 a month from SSI.....and to top it off the Mother spent a year in prison and SSI stopped. This system is screwed up! If women want equal rights, they need to be held equally responsible. My cousin has been trying to get SSI approved, and he needs it badly, yet they just threw him in prison and he is forced to find work. Why isn't she in there too?

My husband has recently been hit for child support, he takes good care of his children with no question to be asked. All because the mother of his son; wants to lay on her back, have multiple children, and collect government assistance. She rather run the streets, than care about her children's well being. I am a mother myself, so I understand the need of assistance from the father from time to time. Not to mention in the state of Mississippi my husband is only making minimum wage of $7.25. Not factoring in the cost of living and our newborn baby expenses. However, I haven't received one penny from my oldest child's (from a previous relationship) father and she is well taken care of. I get up everyday to work full time and attend school. Again with no type of government assistance. So I'm trying to get an understanding of Food stamps, TANF, Child Support, and other government assistance.....Do I need to become jobless and a deadbeat mother just to receive assistance? I thought the word assistance meant help, not handy cap or take care of. What about helping people that are trying to help themselves.

Just tried to qualify for a home loan and I am finding it difficult to qualify for a $199,900. townhouse because my child support of $1,185. per month is effecting my debt to income ratio. Meanwhile my Ex-Wife is living in a $600,000. home and not working because she "Does not like to work". On top of that she said it is my responsibility to buy them clothes for when they come to visit me. She took them out of state so I can't see them nearly as much as I would like to. All this because she wanted to move to a warmer climate. Add insult to injury, I can't see my kids nearly as much as I would like which would seem like punishment enough but now I am charged DOUBLE because I don't have them as much. Shame on the family court system of this nation for breeding custody battles. It is in her best interest financially to not work and keep them from me as much as possible. $80k per year and barely able to afford a modest home and car for myself.

My wife of nearly 19 yrs marriage, physically, emotionally, financially, mentally abused me for nearly 18 years. She controlled every aspect of my life outside of day to day work, even if I could spend money to eat lunch at work. She cursed me, slapped me, spit on me, kicked me, threw things at me, punched me over the years. She even had at least one sexual affair of which she freely admitted she had and that I could not stop her from having more. In this all, I remained with her and loved her and at some point believed I deserved all the pain I received from her. As the kids got older, she used fear, physical punishment, threats, screaming and the like to ensure our kids obeyed her as well. In the divorce, the judge awarded her 50% of my military retirement, and only granted me joint custody. I don't understand why the "blind justice" system could be so biased. Cobb County GA judicial system. Judge Schuster

And no one wants to hold my ex wife accountable for violating visitation.. But let me get behind and I automatically go to jail. Another ****ed off dad being abused by the system

My husband pays $1200 a month for tw/o children to his ex wife. mind you he only makes about $17 an hour. He used to make $18 an hour bit was laid off from work for three months because she kept taking him to court. When they first went to court he didn't have a lawyer (huge mistake ). Her lawyer manipulated her income and put my husband at making $500 more a month than he actually makes. My husband has tried to modify it TWICE both times a master said "if I go through with this I'm raising it" despite the fact that he is bringing home below $913 a month which is the PA poverty line for ONE person and we have a son at home too and they aren't supposed to be taking more than 50% of his income. When he brought up the fact that he has another son the master said "does your wife work, let her income take care of him." We want more custody but are terrified to go to court and lose when we are currently living with my parents. Our only silver lining is I am trying to finish college to make more money For our family. She has the kids in private school and he has to pay for it even though he struggles to help me with our son. How is that justice? If we had it our way we'd have those boys 50/50 or more, honestly they have emotional issues from seeing their dad and brother so infrequently. Hopefully the new president will reform family court. Going to jail for debt is unheard of unless you pay child support. Why is there no jury or trial for child support? How is it legal to take someone's wages and force them to work only to be left with so little they'd be homeless if it wasn't for those around them who love them. My husband is an exceptional father but were it not for me he'd be so broke he'd either have to move across the contry with his family or be homeless. Both situatio s would cause him to seem like a neglectful father. I'd imagine many men have had to do that. It should be illegal to take more than 30% of someone's income EVER point blank. If you go to get help from the state I bet you they aren't going to give you $1200 for two kids or pay for private school tuition. It's ridiculous and the people making these judgements biasly and the people taking all the money tg ey can for greed and revenge will answer to God for it. I know my husband and I have struggled, worried, cried, gone without. I'd hate to be the person who answers to God for what we went through at the unjust hands of the law.

It is ridiculous that a man who is working 12 hour shifts to take care of his children should have to pay child support until he cannot sustain himself while the mother collects along with food stamps, social security, and live in low income housing paying next to nothing for rent. It should be a law that they be required to work, and I can say that as a woman.

It's sickening to watch able-bodied SUPPOSED TO BE INTELLIGENT women sit back, collecting "income" from fathers who DO WORK HARD but then ALSO make it difficult for the same father to see his child(ren). Fathers get 96 hours if "parenting time PER MONTH, maybe 25 minutes to speak with children because non-working mom is " busy" AND have to pay HUNDREDS in child support for children in public school with no special needs?? REALLY?! THIS is fair & equitable??

The entire system, most specifically in the state of KY, is specifically targeting non-custodial father's. It expects us to not only meet our obligation, but also manage to feed, house, and care for ourselves as members of society. In short, it turns honest men into criminals. It's atrocious that this is what has become of our country and childcare more specifically. We are father's but not just that, we are people too; People with needs just as equally important as our children.

I receive child support and have never taken my ex back for more, thankfully, we have a good relationship when it comes to our daughter. Unfortunately, I have seen the other side of child support when it comes to my now husband. They completely screw the men. His ex owns a business but is allowed to claim negative income with virtually no proof. If I had a business for three years that was -$17000 dollars I think I would close up shop. They do not even investigate this. She is also married and support by someone else. I thought it takes two people to raise a child and support them...funny..she has supposedly no income and his actual child support order says he pays 100 percent for everything. Where is the fairness in that? Which means she doesn't have to pay one dime out of her pocket for her own child. Child support needs reformed. For the men who pay their fair share and are constantly being screwed by this system. The women need to be held accountable too!

Stop trying to get out of supporting children you and your ex chose to have. Grow up and take responsibility at the end of the day it is about your children not a grown man or woman who does not want to support their children. Complaints about woman or men remarrying and that should be taken out of what their children need absolutly ridiculous, your asking for someone else to take care of your responsibilities. When the parent paying child support gets married should their new spouses income be added to how much they should have to pay, you cannot have it just one way. You should want the best for your children, a lifestyle better for your children. If you do not want the responsibilities Finicial included, then use proper precautions to not have children!
