Dogs should not be punished because of faulty training. And neither should owners who take the time to train them to not be the vicious creature legislation make them out to be. As an owner of a pitbull mix and another mutt who looks intimating upon first meeting them, they are the most sweetest loyal pets we ever had. The saddest story I read in the news was a pitbull was put down because the owner died in the fire and as they try to remove his body the pitbull would not leave his owner side. I am a young female who just moved to the city I would never feel more protected and safe in my own home then if I had a well loved and trained dog with me. I would never buy a gun but I would have a so called "intimidating" dog. So before letting just anyone have concealed carry or open carry because of a amendment from 200 years ago when a gun was not automatic or fired 200 bullets per minute or people just go around and shoot up public places maybe you should consider the alternative for those who don't believe in gun but still want to feel protected in a more reasonable way.REPORT COMMENTS

I used to believe in BSL. Then I saw what was done with Michael Vick's fighting dogs. Those dogs were retrained and became companion dogs for the elderly in rest homes. Others became children's pets. No BSL. I learned how wrong it is and you should too.REPORT COMMENTS

BSL does not work. It only makes these breeds more desirable to the people that should not be breeders in the first place. Puppy mills are a huge problem as well. These dogs are subjected to malnutrition, starvation, inbreeding, living in squalor, unsanitary living conditions & lack of veterinarian care.
