I GET that some pitbulls are "aggressive" but that goes for ANY breed and it depends on the way they're raised. You can't outlaw a dog because of it's breed, just like you wouldn't outlaw a person because of their skin color. This is ridiculous and heartbreaking.REPORT COMMENTS

This is truly heart breaking. I have owned four Labs in my life and currently have my Pit bull/Boxer mix. I will never own anything other then a breed like him. We have a young child and they interact the same as any Labrador did. These dogs are highly intelligent, sensitive and loyal animals. They are solely a product of their environment. They have been successfully used as police dogs, companion dogs and therapy dogs. I have seen so many people buy the wrong breed and blame the dog for not conforming to their lifestyle. Murdering hundreds for animals will not solve the problem, history is the proof. It makes me sick that some people think this is the answer to the problem.REPORT COMMENTS

Make a law to require all dog owners to take their dog to a training certification. Make harsher laws forget owners and higher fines. Hold the people accountable for turning dogs of any breed into aggressors. Dogs are not at fault here. The people are and nothing will change until people change. This is pathetic. The breed of the dog doesn't make it harmful. Pit bulls are loving and caring and sweet dogs. Any idea that they aren't is due to the image that humans put on them. People have made them seem a way that they aren't. Any dog can become dangerous if brought up that way. You can't hurt and ban these innocent animals because of the few that were raised and taught wrong, fix the people not the breed. You can't take away peoples dogs, dogs are family, they are loved. Even pit bulls in shelters waiting to be adopted. You are taking away their right to a happy life. It's not okay to do that to people and it's not okay to do it to any animal either. They feel too. This is sad, and the people who inact this should be ashamed. Realize who the real problem is, and work on fixing that.REPORT COMMENTS
