I believe Breed Specific Legislation should be abolished completely. It is horrendous to think that an entire species should be punished for the inhumane treatment of a small percentage. These dogs are fierce. Fierce lovers and fierce fighters, and it all depends on how they are raised. Spoken from experience, for I have owned pit bulls all my life. Set the example for the world community and lead the way in animal protection. If this happens to these poor sweet dogs it is completely unforgivable and I will never step foot in Montreal again. Condemning one breed to death because they are all risky and mean makes as much sense as condemning one race to death because of whatever reason. Shameful, awful, that BSL exists. As the responsible owner of a Rottweiler and a Pit bull I take BSL personal. Both are training to be AKC therapy dogs. They bring joy to anyone and everyone humans and dogs alike. They do not discriminate, and neither should we.REPORT COMMENTS

BSL doesn't prevent dog bites or fights. It is not effective at protecting people from dog bites and is actually harmful to good dogs. It kills dogs. It punishes wonderful dogs for simply being born who they are. They are deemed guilty until proven innocent by passing a CGC. It's a horrible discrimination! It's like assuming every individual of a certain ethnicity is an illegal immigrant or a member of a certain religious organization is a terrorist until proven guilty. It punishes the amazing breeds that it seems a as dangerous. It even punishes dogs that are mistaken for the breeds listed under BSL. Pit bulls are known as nanny dogs, because of their gentle and affectionate nature around children. Blame the deed, NOT the breed! ,REPORT COMMENTS

This law is absolutely unnecessary and stupid! Y'all aren't just taking away "pit bulls", y'all are taking away family members. If the roles were reversed and the government were to start taking away small dog breeds, that would be just as ridiculous as what y'all are doing now! This racism against this breed has to STOP!! I'm sick and tired of listening to people bash this breed and saying that these dogs are the way they are because of the breed. No! That is not the case. It's the utter fact that cruel and downright EVIL people are putting this beautiful breed in situations causing fights to happen. Pitbulls aren't meant for that.
