This law is absolutely horrendous, vial, disgusting, and is the biggest form of discrimination I have ever seen. Dogs are not born bad, how people raise them is how a dog behaves. Ripping good dogs out of responsible loving caring homes is appalling and disgraceful! To be killed just because of what dog "race" is discrimination. We are in a country were people are innocent until proven guilty, I ask you, why does that not apply for all living breathing things! -

BSL is wrong do we clear blacks out of Chicago because they cause violence and shoot each other? No. do we put down Muslims because some extremists bomb us? Golden Retrievers and Chichiuauas attack just as many children so how come they aren't penalized under this law? Instead of banning them what about training them? Supporting them? We should be educating the public on how to adiquately care and love these gentle animals. Rather than discriminate on a specific breed because of its "history." Many of these dogs are gentle, kind, and loving animals who don't deserve to be muzzled or to be euthanized.REPORT COMMENTS

My brother rescued a pitbull boxer mix and I admit he made me nerverous when we first got him. I had come to believe that he would be violent because of what I had heard about bully breeds. That lasted about two days and now I can't understand how people think that. He LOVES people and LOVES to cuddle and the only thing he is guilty of is being too excited when we come home from work. We are still working on training and fixing the things his previous owner neglected but he is so smart and caring. He does great with my all of my families dogs! We need to worry about the people that are mistreating these amazing animals in the first place!REPORT COMMENTS

My pitbull/cane Corso mix is the most affectionate and loving creature in the world. She welcomed my newborn into her life with a big kiss. My dog is a lab/cur mix but is mistaken for a pitbull often and besides the fact that pitbull sate some of the best dogs out there these laws terrify me for all dog breeds and owners. My 2 dogs were bitten by a Yorkie the other day. They just backed up and liked confused but had it been the other way around you can bet my dog would be euthanized in a heartbeat. BSL is wrong. Dogs are animals and the responsibility of their owners. Also, even the best owners have accidents but slaughtering and banning dogs based on nothing more than appearance is ridiculous.REPORT COMMENTS

I was in a horrific accident in 2013. I was not in a good place for a while. My life was turned upside down. I adopted a Pitt/Rott (75%/25%) mix. He has brought me out of the deep hole I was and has brought so much joy to me and my family. He's good with cats dogs and children. He likes to lick babies faces' and they laugh and smile in return.
